Hi Stephenie,
Thanks for the invite. I hope to meet a lot of people here and learn a lot too! I forgot to mention in my profile, but I'm interested in Christian writing, as well.

Hi Stephanie, Thanks for the invite. I want to check out your link later. It looks really good! We all need faith in our lives. We all need freinds in our lives too. Thanks for being another one of mine! Deb :-)

Thanks for adding me to your friends! You teach the age group I write for! I've always been a little "jealous" of writers who are already teachers --teachers have such a great window into the lives, language, and interests of kids. It must come in handy. :)

I apologize. I don't think I ever responded to your comment. The books I recommended are all picture books. Anything by Lisa Wheeler or Dori Chaconas is good.
Nice to see you here.

Thanks for inviting me to be a friend. And you're not very far away from me, I'm about 50 miles east. I think it's east.

Hi!
Thanks for accepting my invitation. I am interested in your teaching career, up in what seems to me to be a frozen tundra! I grew up in the Deep South, central Alabama, and have never ventured far from home. HOWEVER, I, Thoreau and Dickinson, have travelled much in this tiny space. Smal... more

You would love my poetry book, WAITING TO SEE THE PRINCIPAL AND OTHER POEMS. I've been retired seven years and I still miss teaching. That's one big reason that I write.

Thanks for the comment, Stephanie. I love legends, too. The Legend of Saint Nick came together when I discovered the guy we believe became Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, was orphaned when he was young. I wrote the Legend of Ohio for Sleeping Bear press after I discovered a wonderful oral tradition from a... more

Hi Stephenie, sorry I never answered your question. I am working on a variety of things, a couple of different pbs (one for CPH) and a chapter book. Oh, I'm also finishing up the last quarter of Growing in Christ for CPH.
How about you?

I have taught 4th grade for 8 years now and have really loved it! They are at the age that they have independence, but they still are little children and like the teacher. With that said, I am moving down to 2nd grade next year. I have taught 5th and now 4th and I feel it is time for a change. W... more

I'd love to take one of your classes, but I'm not fond of driving in the Cities in the winter.

I'd actually advise that you keep teaching part-time as well. Take it from someone who is doing it full-time. It is extremely difficult to earn enough to live on from writing alone. Also, in this economy, it would be good to have a regular income, no m... more
