Ours is very boring and we need to add more life and vibrancy (is that a word") to it . We are looking around for a new person to head up the design and let them run with it. The big need I saw as she went through school & even now is for books that are high interest but low readability. I wanted something that fit her age but that she could read without struggling. I hated seeing her read the "little kid books" in front of her peers. If she could have had books that out... more

The big need I saw as she went through school & even now is for books that are high interest but low readability. I wanted something that fit her age but that she could read without struggling. I hated seeing her read the "little kid books" in front of her peers. If she could have had books that outwardly looked like the others but just were easier readability levels that would have been so much more encouraging for her to actually read. As it was she avoided it because of getting made fun of etc. I'm moving to a new home but maybe once I'm settled I can think about giving it a try.

Love reading your blog. You're the reason I'm proceeding with my "Everland" project full steam ahead. Today I finished the final editing, proofreading, layout touches on the Volume 1 manuscript. Finished my cover pages, short bio, epigraph, and dedication.


I tell you what, Volume 1 alone is going to be a monster! 6 x 9 size, 300 pages, 12-font 1.5 spaced. At about $15 it's gonna be a little pricey but that's the lowest I can offer it for when it comes out, sacrificing 98 percent of my own profit. It's ok though because I'm not about the money. Last thing pending is the final coyright page and the official book cover. This will delay my progress by a few weeks but I've decided I want to find 4 teenage girls to model for my 4 volumes (paperback trilogy plus single hardcover volume).. Volume 1 will be easy. Using my wife's picture of when she was 16:-D The other girls...the open cast call should stir up some buzz for my books. Well again, congratulations on Howard. I'll be sure to ask for it a bookstore before buying online. Help you get a little exposure.

I am having review copies sent to several specialty baby stores and trying to find new ways to get the book out in front of people. I did see it on the shelf at Barnes and Noble a couple weeks ago and that was a really big day for me. I have seen some reviews posted on Barnes and Nobles website, but I need to get more attention for the book. I was going to try to schedule a couple book signings, but I found out yesterday that my husband is deploying to the Middle East this Tuesday, so that kind of changes things. Anyways, I am focusing on friends and family and asking them to share the information about my book, and I am approaching bookstores and baby shops. With my husband leaving, I may go to Germany to see my parents for a little while with the kiddos and try to approach some of the German bookshops. Well, that about covers it for now. Let me know how things are going for Howard.
