You are all invited to my first solo show!!!! (while I write this I have a huge smile in my mouth and my heart is going so fast... I think that´s called "extremus happiness"!!!)

It will be held here in Montreal, in the boutique atelier ARTISTRI, which is a very cute store where you can find crafts from all over the world exclusively made by women!!! what a nice thing!!!!

April 14 is the date, from 5 to 8 pm, please if you happen to be in Montreal, stop by and meet my dolls... they will be delighted to see you all!!! and me too!!!(applauses)

I found a new book!!!! (finally I had sometime to go to the book store!) Colors are amazing and the ilustration very simple and beutiful at the same time... it´s whole imagery is so cool and I just loooved it the moment I saw it... the illustrator, Catherine Lepage is again another artist from Quebec City, Canada!!! (wooow I´m so impressed by the Canadian illustrators! Oh and she lives in Montreal!!!!) She is the writter and the illustrator of the book.

A real nice work!!! (applauses)

These two are a very special couple... they are known as "dream whisperers"... ancient magical creatures very rare, indeed... and with magical powers to make things appear or dissapear... I found another book !!!! I found this wonderful, beautiful and delightful book last week while browsing my very much favorite children section in the book store... the illustrations immediately caught my eye... is just that they are sooooo beautiful! The illustrator lives in Montreal!!!! *how many talented illustrators are here in my new city!!! She has a blog and a web portfolio where you can see more of her work!

This book is just sooo amazing! you have to see it!

Happy is what I am... a total happy, jumpy and bouncy one!!! why? ... because today I received my copy of ART DOLL QUARTERLY for their edition of spring 2010 and a couple of my dolls are on it!!! (Otto and Elena) Oh they look so cute!!!! and I´m right now dancing in my living room with the magazine in my hands... and with a big smile in my face!!!!

Feliz, así mismito me siento hoy... totalmente feliz... brinco, voy, vengo!!!! porqué?... pues porque hoy recibí mi copia de la revista ART DOLL QUARTERLY en su edición primavera 2010 y un par de mis muñecas fueron publicadas!!! (Otto y Elena) Ay se ven tan lindas!!!! y justo ahorita ando bailando como loquita en mi sala con la revista en mis manos... y con una gran sonrisa en mi cara!!!!

OOOOOOOH I´m so happy I was published in STUFFED Magazine for their winter 2010 edition!!!! I just received a copy of the magazine and is so cool!!!! and full with the work of very talented people who makes dolls, plushies and stuffed creatures full of love, color and imagination!

Hey, hey everybody!!!! Happy New Year!!! I´m back from my vacation with the spirt high and very smily!!!! you can read a sipnosis of my vacation in the atelier, I had a great time, I saw my loved ones, ate lots of mexican food, and now I´m back in snowy Montreal ready to make more dolls and find more great children books to show you...

I made this mermaid for my sister´s Xmas gift and she liked it a lot, I will make more cause I liked her very much, isn´t she cute?!

Well, I´m happy to be at home, my cats are happy I´m back too and I hope you all are as happy as I am!!! My best wishes to you all!!!

Hola, Hola a todos!!!! Feliz Año Nuevo!!! Ya estoy de vuelta de la vacación y con los espíritus muy altos y muy sonriente!!! Pueden leer el resumen de la vacación en el atelier, me la pasé increíble, ví a mis quereres, comí mucha comida mexicana y ahora ya estoy de vuelta en la nevada Montreal lista para hacer muñecas y encontrar muchos libros infantiles hermosos para ustedes...

Hice esta sirena para mi hermana de regalo de navidad y le gustó muchísimo, a mi también me gustó mucho así que pienso hacer más... no es linda?

Pues bien, estoy feliz de estar de vuelta en casa, y mis gatos también estan re felices de tenernos de vuelta... Espero que todos estén tan felices como yo!!! Les mando mis mejores deseos!!!!

Life is very curious, from the first time I saw this book it attracted my attention, mainly because of the cover, the color combination and the illustration on it were really special. Unfortunately I didn´t have a camera on me that day so I couldn´t take any photos of it. Last time I went to the book store I found it again and this time I did have a camera!!! This book is a compilation of 30 poems written by Gilles Tibo, a greatly renowned children´s author. The illustrations are from five different illustrators from Quebec (the Canadian region I live now)... so, the illustrations I liked the best from all of them were from the Canadian Illustrator Janice Nadeau, who lives in Montreal (as I do!). Her illustrations from this book are the following 3 that I´m sharing. I find her work so beautiful! Her watercolor use is so full of movement and simplicity, I love it!

The curious part of this story is that when I begin to do my research about the illustrator, I found that she illustrated this other book I bought in México a couple of years ago titled “Where in the world”, I bought this book because its illustration seemed to me so amazing, I don´t remember if I bought it in its French version or its Spanish version but I guess I should have bought the French one because I don´t remember to have read it ... So since I bought it, for some reason this book has had a special place in my collection of children books and is still one of my favorite ones.

Such a nice thing to know that this very special book, is from an illustrator that lives in the same very city where my destiny is.

The book of today is so beautiful that as soon as I saw it I couldn´t resist to take some photos of it for showing it here! The translation for the title would be "And I, what can I do?" and the illustrator is the talented Jesús Cisneros, from Spain... Oh his style is so poetic and simple (why is it simplest the illustrations the most beautiful I think they are?) Check out this beatufiul video of another of his book illustrations with a nice piano background.

I found a review of the book where you can see what it is about, the story has a very deep and human meaning that I really liked... Oh what a nice book is this!!!!

Here is another nice book I saw at the book store!!! The illustrations are very simple and I think very original... I love the colors and I think the wolf is such a great charachter!!! The book is made in a big format and the pages are very think and shinny, very cute!!!

Acá les dejo otro librito que vi en la librería y me gustó!!! las ilustraciones son muy simples y me parecen muy originales... los colores me facinan y el lobo es un personajazoooo!!!! el libro esta hecho en una especie de formato duro, no se si me explico, las páginas son como de pasta... brillosas.... muy lindooo!!!

So as I promised I´m back.... and now I had a great idea... I will go to the book store once a week and browse around the books I like and since I have not that much money to buy them I will take photos of them and show them here!!!

So I´m back!!! (I didn´t take that long this time ha???) I´m going to explain myself in this post. When I moved to Montreal I had to leave almost all my stuff in México, and when I say almost all, is really almost all... among the stuff I left behind were my dear books... and among them were my dearest children book collection. I moved once before from New York to México and in that trip I also had to leave behind my stuff... there are 16 boxes of books kept in a storage room somewhere in Manhattan with my oh so dearest children books collection. So that´s the story of my life... I´ve been moving around as a Gypsy and since Airlines fares are increasing their fares and lowering the kilos allowed in my suitcase it´s been impossible for me to be a Nomad with my children books. So I'm back after two months of ups and downs... too many things going on in my life... to starters I found my father whom I never knew before and after 30 years contacted him... (uf!) can you imagine? It was good to do it and the good news is that now I have a father!!!! and I like it!!!! :) So after that many feelings and things happening I had to be away once more... (I truly admire those of you who can always write your blogs no matter what!) but I'm back now! and I'm happy!

I have some wonderful news! My friend Parisa published her FIRST children book!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS my dear friend! you have such talent and deserve all the good things that are happening to you! I'm very happy for this success and I just love the illustrations! Please everybody take a second to visit her blog and take a look at her book, it is beautiful!

She is a very gifted children illustrator originary from Iran and a woman full of imagination and has been a follower of my work and a great friend! Thanks for all your beatutiful treasures and thanks for sharing with us your world!

Así que estoy de vuelta despues de dos meses de andar del tingo al tango... Demasiadas cosas sucediendo al mismo tiempo en mi vida… para empezar les cuento que reencontré a mi padre al cual no conocí jamás y después de 30 años lo contacté… (uf!) se pueden imaginar? Fue bueno hacerlo y la buena noticia es que ahora tengo papá, y me gusta!!!! :) Así que después de muchos sentimientos y tantas cosas que me hicieron estar lejos una vez más (de verdad admiro a todos ustedes que se las arreglan para escribir sus blogs no importando nada) ya estoy de vuelta! Y estoy muy feliz!
