The latest completed work of my oil pastel illustrations on canvas.
When I am faced with long meetings at school or off campus, I am usually prepared with a pad of paper and a pencil or pen. I seem to retain the necessary information but always have that need to draw or make marks with the pen. It probably helps me listen as well as not fall asleep. Here is a recent 2 hour meeting doodle.
A quick sketch for the illustration friday topic, edge. This was an experiment using a new software tool so the idea was pretty simple and not very original. |
An illustration completed a few years ago of the Old Market during a good winter 'Snow'. Have not seen a good snow for a long time. |
Final look of recent house commission. |

illustration friday topic....streeeetttttccccchhh! |
Started the year off with a new art room. Much nicer space, more storage which was always a problem in the old art room. I thought I would miss the natural light more than I do but with the bigger space and the tile floor the lighting is not so much of an issue. I would definitely take the space over the small class room with windows. the ceramics and kiln room is also adjacent to my classroom which makes if wonderful to move clay projects to and from the kiln. I don't have to cart it through the gym to the gym storage which is were the kiln was before this school year. This will enable me to juggle and manage more clay projects for my 80 students.
I will hopfully post some pictures of the space very soon.
Now that teaching is done for the year, I have been thinking about painting a couple of digital prints and even stretch a few frames to actually paint with acrylic or oil bars. We shall see if it comes to reality.
I may be small....but I am very Capable of opening a can of whup on your slimy green arse!
Looking forward to my next time at bat.
Twirling on a broken nerf basketball hoop, she sang to her adoring fans in her backyard amphitheater.
Prepared for a 3 hour meeting at school with pen and notepad. These are the notes I get trying to stay awake....
My 7-year old's take on grounded. Obviously from watching his older sisters.....
Yep - Your grounded, go pick up the doggie do-doo that is way over due.
I haven't done the blogging thing for a long time. I am revamping my website:
www.mikepflaumart.com and thought I would incorporate the blogging feature more. Hoppe to add art more often in 2012.
Until then...here is a recent illustration. Cheers!
This is a my latest print, created for my school and parish where I teach art. I am rather pleased with how it turned out. There will be only 1 printed of the original size. I am planning on make a short edition of this print in a smaller size. (Coming soon!)
Haven't posted here for a while. Busy teaching art...but it is good to just doodle.
