No time for writing at the mo. Christmas hols hopefully will dedicate at least a week to writing between wrapping, shopping, work/family and friends Christmas dos! I almost studied at Winchester - beautiful place - went to Homerton in the end, happy days punting and pic-nics on the river Cam - Cambridge was too flat for me though I love the hills, rolling downs and mountains where you can enjoy a good days walk and have a fantastic view for a reward getting everything in perspective from up above. I'm a terrible navigator and get lost frequently but am much better by the sea [only 180 degrees to navigate] or on top of a hill/mountain so you can see where you are in relation to everything else! Busy few weeks ahead apologies if I don't get back to you for a while now.

PS Forgot to say my husband went to St. Andrews - I have been given the guided tour - beautiful! Walked along the Chariot's of Fire beach which my late uncle David [Watkin] filmed. He got the oscar for filming Out of Africa - but my favourite was Chariot's of Fire and Hello Dolly with Barbara Stre... more

St. Helens. Children certainly give you food for thought, that's why I love the classroom and school environment generally...the teachers and parents give you ideas too...I love people watching. I'm gradually getting a few ideas down that I've lived with for too long as well. Good to get them out... more

I'm gradually getting a few ideas down that I've lived with for too long as well. Good to get them out...I'm on 3rd 4th and 5th drafts now and am so glad I changed one because Michael Foreman has just published "I Love You Too!" which was one of my ideas - exactly- but without the teddy bear characters. I've just reviewed it for a magazine I write for and was hopping mad then relieved I'd reworked my original idea so thoroughly. What you start out with is often completely different after a re-write or two and hopefully all the better for it.
