About Jim
I'm a part time writer, retired from the oilfield, who now finds himself in the company of professionals, so I'll probably just lurk and learn for awhile. I have acquired a few publishing credits over the past several years, one camera article in Writers' Journal, an article about the real bear behind Winnie the Pooh in The School Magazine, plus two online articles. Eons ago my airplane photographs made the cover of Trade-A-Plane magazine and a number of my horse photos were used by owners and breeders in their advertising. I also worked with students from local fashion modeling schools shooting photos for their portfolios.
One of my goals is to use my photos to illustrate science and how-to articles for middle graders and up. My main project at the moment is finding an agent and/or publisher for a YA/NF book I've written about the WASP (Womens Airforce Service Pilots) of WWII who were the first women in history trained to fly US military aircraft.
I've completed the LRWG "Breaking Into Print" course and three courses at ICL. Now, with that written, I must say that I'm very glad to have found this group and look forward to learning a lot from the "pro's."
