My background is in theater design: costumes, sets and props. Which basically means I visualized other people's stories. In 1997 I joined a critique group hosted by Bonny Becker (yes, the author of A Visitor for Bear, The Magical Miss Plum etc). At the time much of my writing was done from the point of view of a child, but I hadn't decided on my audience. Whether my stories were meant for adults or for children wasn't clear yet, it seemed I could go either way. At some point most members of Bonny's Crit moved out of town and we had a farewell party and said goodbye to the monthly meetings.
Many of the new writer friends I've made thanks to NaNoWriMo 2010 are focused on books for children or young adults and while my main focus at the moment is on finishing a literary novel for adults, my interest in the children's and YA readership has been refueled. So bare with me, I've got a few stories as well as pictures up my sleeve!
