About Nestor
My name is Nestor Eguez, I’m a Vocational School Technical Teacher, originaly from Uruguay, South America, and twenty years ago I came to California in search of a better life.
From my youth, I always had the dream to write children’s tales but never had the opportunity to do so.
Ten years ago, while helping my own children with a puppet play that, they wanted to put on for their school, it was the moment that I received the inspiration for this story. From there many things had happened, both good and bad, but I never gave up. Over these years the story grew and matured into, a beautiful and inspirational work of art.
The story describes a little zebra’s magical journey that begins in the jungle of Kenya and ends in a well-known famous place. It’s a tale of courage, passion and friendship, sending a strong message about how to balance our ancestors heritage and our own dreams to find the destiny that is awaits us. In a humorous and serious way at the same time, the story will make readers think about nature, animals, and how we treat them.
Something that I learned in all of these years is that this project is not about me, my own children, or my personal experience but is about a message that is important to send out. There is still a long road to travel, but I feel very thankful to God for the inspiration and the strength for the path I have trodden so far. If I can’t achieve it in my life time, my children will.
