I discovered this novel through research for an article I was writing on teen literature. I read the first paragraph, describing a college student's reaction to the book and set the article aside. I then went right to my computer and ordered the novel.
The subject matter is mature but the novel itself avoids graphic descriptions and leaves itself suitable for teen readers. I have never read a book where the narrator felt so real. The range of emotions that I went through while reading this novel was exhausting and I read it start to finish in one evening.
I'm not one to give reviews which give away plot lines so this is where my review ends. As much as the novel disturbed me, I am very glad to have read it. tags: I read, I recommend |
