This tender story begins with the future parents deep in prayer for a child. At the same time, we meet a frightened 16-year-old pregnant girl. She wonders how she is going to care for her child when she has no money and is still in school.
God hears the couples’ prayer. He realizes they have been praying for a baby for several years and decides to grant them a child. He visits the pregnant girl in a dream and advises her to become a surrogate mother.
Ms. Welch then shows us God picking all the elements that He is going to put into the newborn’s nature and personality.
After the story, there are several poems and essays written by the author and her mother. They all carry the same theme of the thrill of motherhood and the miracle that is a child.
This book is a ‘must have’ for every adopted child, their parents or any parent at all. It is full of emotion and is punctuated by the parents love for the adopted child. This book would also make a wonderful gift for the adopted child or for the adoptive parents.
