Kwela Books

Kwela Books is an imprint of NB Publishers, a South African publisher, which is in turn owned by Naspers, the largest media group in Africa. Kwela's says its main focus is African writing. About 70% of the work we publish is in English, and the rest is in Afrikaans, the company says on its web site. The company adds that its aim is to broaden the scope of Southern African literature, and to document stories that have not yet been told. It also aims to start publishing a range of classic out-of-print Xhosa and Zulu novels in the near future.
