About Jim
Since graduating from art school in 1986, I have worked for ad agencies and design studios as an art director, graphic designer, and illustrator. Illustration has always been a passion of mine and in 1998 I opened Groggy Dog Studios.
Once I sent out my first promo piece and landed an editorial spot for the WSJ Classroom Edition, Groggy Dog was up and running.
After 9 years of working as an art director by day and an illustrator by night, I decided to make illustration a full-time gig in 2007 and work out of my home studio. As a kid, I was always reprimanded for daydreaming and now I'm getting paid for it!
In August of 2000, I left Philadelphia where I went to art school and moved to Orlando, Florida. In my spare time, I enjoy physical fitness, going to the movies, and reading.
