I have written and illustrated several children picture books including:
The Klezmer Bunch, published by Gefen Publishing House, 2009
Purim Goodies, published by Gefen Publishing House, 2007
I also illustrated another title, Friday Night with the Pope, written by Jacques J.M. Shore, published by Gefen Publishing House, 2007
My children book illustrations have been recognized with the prestigious Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators 2005 award for picture books illustration in the category of Fantasy.
I perform my stories in schools, libraries and community centers with the aids of enlarged cut-out illustrations from my books, props, puppets, costumes and music. Each event is carefully planned according to a specific age group. See videos of my performances on www.amaliahoffman.com or utube.
I was selected finalist in The Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators 2007 storytelling competition.
I hold a B.F.A with honors from Pratt Institute and M.F.A. from New York University.
I am also a designer specializing in window display. I created unique displays for Tiffany's, Bloomingdales,
Lord & Taylor & other major retailers in NYC.
