:: You know, when you put your child into a music lesson, there's a few consideration that a parents should anticipate, mind about the imperfect noise, what I mean is the up and down of mastering one song into another, the skill of how you encourage your children even when you know that the difficulties is beyond your skill, but bettween the process we both learn a lot about life, of how you get the perfection on every note and on the next second it's just slipped like that.. we did that in life too, and we all just have to practice too.. a lot :)

Haa.. akhirnya boneka Tobi jadi juga, lucu juga liat hasil gambar jadi boneka, sedikit banyak sudah puas sama hasilnya, yang besar ditaruh di Toy City PIM, guedeee sekali.. dan lucuu! Kebayang yang ngebikinnya, buset deh..
Yang kecil2 juga lucu karena soft toys jadinya halus gitu kl dipegang :)

:: We found these guys in our backyards, as the raining season comes, with so many loud croaks of thousand frogs, here they are..
:: and make a journal of their lives, the eggs hatching in only 1 day, but the tadpole phase is still a long long way to go, we feed these guys spinach and lettuce, with a little fish pellets every two days.. grow big dear little froggies!

Dan ternyata pertama kali ikutan bazaar punya nilai plusnya sendiri, belum lagi tentang hecticnya nurunin barang karena lokasi sudah harus disucihamakan dari mobil mulai jam 6 pagi, lantai stand yang ternyata tidak rata dan sangat 'tidak sedap dipandang' kalo tanpa alas, problem tanpa listrik yang bikin mendekor sehari sebelumnya jadi berantakan- thanks God buat seorang teman yang rela menyalakan lampu mobilnya biar kita bisa ngedekor!
Dan untungnya semua berjalan asik! asik banget ketemu sama teman2 alumni, ketemu teman di Bandung, waah ajang lepas kangen dan ketawa2 yang sudah lama diidam2kan!
Ketagihan ikut bazaar? Iyah! Jadi kalo ada yg punya info ttg bazaar, boleh la kabar2i saya :D
:: Jualan frame yang idenya supaya orang bisa melukisi framenya sendiri, dan ternyata kebanyakan pada nanyain apakah ada stok frame yang sudah dilukisi *tepok jidat, aah lain kali saya lukisi dulu deh... :)

I've been working over this cutey last month, hello all! This is Tobi, the new mascot for Toy City- local toy store in Indonesia, they also re-branding their logo's and stuff, and it becomes modern, simple, and cute:).
and about Tobi, he's one naughty monkeys, always running around, making a mess, but also smart and funny, some of my friend asking about his tail.., well you know accident happened to a naughty one, so... thats explained what happened right..? :)

This is my recent sticker book like I've told you in this post, almost published now it's still on the printing process.
I know girls like fairies, I like them too, but recently all the myth that I have about fairies is contaminated, yes, contaminated if I might said, with all the barbie like fairies stuff, and all the disney typical of fairies it's all so industrial and at the same time it's so commercial, so I really want to make this fairies not- look- a like all the girlie things that I've already said above.
It's still girlie, still have all the dazzling gown and stuff. But I might assure you that the fairy that I have in my mind since I was a little girl, they're in this book. So, enjoy .. :))
:: And this is a doodle, err... is she a fairy, or elves.., just inspired by Disney- Tangled.
Don't get me wrong, I love Disney works, but not the industry :D

:: Cute little cheongsam isn't it, and I finally got my name on the stamp carved right on it, well the stamp really not as neat as the samples ( like on the right side on the photos) when I try it at home, but I'm quite happy :)
And a little bit tips :
1. For shopping in China: don't ask the price, only if you really get into it, otherwise they will holding your arms tightly asking you to bargain until you feel uneasy and buy the thing. Always check your shopping after they wrapped it, they usually switch the broken things or give you the wrong size in purpose. Just be extra careful.
2. There's a lot of yelling and spitting in China. They don't mean to be rough by yelling at you- it's only their custom, and about the spitting- it is all because there's a lot of dust in China, taking by the wind from the Yellow River.
3. And the cons goes to the public toilet, just be prepare to bring a lot and lot of tissue... *_*'

The new year is about tradition, where all the family members gather together and pay respect for the elder, my family is not really a ' Chinese' family, well we have a crescent shape eyes and yellow skin tone, but we can not speak mandarin, we are better Javanese speaker though.. :)
But I loove the tradition, in fact I love tradition from all around the world, it is fascinating, knowing what the reason behind every cultures and things.
:: The seller said that this sticker is the chinese character for "luck" , I use it as a hung pao sealer.., sorry for the upside down photos :)

BEFORE NEW YEAR's EVE
The celebration actually starts on New Year's Eve with the reunion dinner. By New Year’s Eve, you should have done the following:
- Clean the entire home to get rid of all the things that are associated with the old year.
- Put away all brooms and brushes.
- Pay all your debts.
- Resolve differences with family members, friends, neighbors and business associates.
- Buy the following: - red money envelopes
- oranges and/or tangerines
- circular candy tray
- flowers (especially plum blossom, peach blossom, water lily)
- a new set of clothes and shoes for children, preferably something red or orange. - Get new dollar bills from the bank. Insert the new dollar bills into the red envelopes. Now the red envelope is called a lee see or lucky money envelope. (note: Very few modern families follow all the "cleaning" traditions.)

Remember about the Kelir Community, the indonesian Children Books Illustrator Community?
Well as we have a great opportunity last year with all the exhibition and workshop, the community wants to give a little thank you stuff from the illustrator for the sponsor that was give a lot of help by giving them a calendar,
this calendar will represent illustration of kids from many region in Indonesia, saying 'thank you in their own language.
I choose the Irian children, where is Irian? I would be glad if you take time and find out it here :).
Irian is a province in Indonesia that needs more attention because of the development and education in these province is still growing. Along with the richness of its flora and fauna, nowadays Irian has become known for the diving areas in Rajaampat, this place is really really beautifull, I wish someday I could go there.
So, I draw this Irian boys along with his will to learn, with pencil and paper, along with his teacher, the Cendrawasih bird.. :) up in the trees saying Amanai- Thank You!

Inilah stand saya selama pasar seni, bareng2 temen2 karena kl sendirian waah harganya selangit, jadilah kita keroyok beramai2.
Dan ternyata pertama kali ikutan bazaar punya nilai plusnya sendiri, belum lagi tentang hecticnya nurunin barang karena lokasi sudah harus disucihamakan dari mobil mulai jam 6 pagi, lantai stand yang ternyata tidak rata dan sangat 'tidak sedap dipandang' kalo tanpa alas, problem tanpa listrik yang bikin mendekor sehari sebelumnya jadi berantakan- thanks God buat seorang teman yang rela menyalakan lampu mobilnya biar kita bisa ngedekor!

Tips dan trik buat lain kali kl bikin bazaar:
1. Kalo bisa sudah tau lokasi seperti apa, jadi kita sudah punya bayangan ttg bagian mana yg harus ditambal sulam, terutama kl barang2 yg kita display memiliki konsep tertentu
2. Jangan lupa bawa emergency lamp, kalo jadwal mendekor sehari sebelumnya dan diatas jam 6!
3. Pas hari H, jangan lupa bekal air minum banyak2, air putih kalau bisa, karena leher pasti kering melayani konsumen dan haha hihi :)
4. Santai sedikit, jangan tense, enjoy aja!

Horeee. Saya ngisi stand di pasar Seni ITB Bandung, tanggal 10-10-2010, tanggal cantiklaa, diajakin temen2 seangkatan, bakalan asik deh.., agak2 bingung juga mau jualan apaan.
Akhirnya memutuskan untuk jualan lukisan untuk interior kamar anak, ini yang lagi dibikin, masih ada peer 10 lagi hohohoho!!
Konsepnya ttg imajinasi, segala sesuatu yang diputar balik didunia fantasi anak2.. :)

Eh bukan masalah trafficking ya ini, tp ttg mainan anak2 perempuan skrg ini :)
Kalo diliat2, bener2 banyak sekali industri komersil yang mengangkat efek2 emosional dan fisik anak perempuan, coba aja liat Barbie, Princess, dan masih banyak lagi. Terus terang dari kecil saya tidak mau mendorong anak saya untuk 'attached' dengan salah satu karakter yang sangat komersil ini, kalaupun ada , kebanyakan karena faktor lingkungan dan teman yang benar2 membombardir dengan segala barang2 berbau glitter dan warna pink ini. Rada mabok juga karena setiap kali ke mall, semua yang berwarna pink dan berkilau ini terasa sekali mendominasi mata. Kenapa saya enggak suka?
1. Ada pembentukan stereotype tertentu dibalik produk2 ini, bahwa yang namanya anak perempuan itu harus penuh dengan semua yang berkilau, harus berwarna pink, harus berambut panjang, berbadan seksi, anak saya yang berumur 6 tahun sudah bisa berkomentar, perempuan itu seksi lho... apa itu seksi nak? itu yang perutnya kelihatan mah..Yah kebanyakan karakter princess kelihatan perutnya lho.
2. Korelasi ke sifat, coba lihat film2 barbie, euh.. penuh dengan tipikal sifat khas perempuan, yang kalau melihat baju bagus langsung matanya melotot, suaranya melengking tinggi sambil menjerit kecil, 'eeeek... so kyuuute...', yaah tidak langsung secara harafiah begitu, coba lihat gestur tubuhnya, cara mereka bicara, cara pemerannya berbisik2, aduh, itu yang biasa diterapkan dikehidupan sehari2 oleh si anak2 kecil yang manis2 ini.., hasilnya, itu tambahan pekerjaan buat orangtua untuk meluruskan label2 yang sudah kadung nemplok dijidat anak2nya. :)
3. Jadi sekarang peernya adalah untuk menjelaskan ttg kenapa ngak sopan kl bisik2 didepan teman, bahwa berambut pendek itu tetap cantik, bertemanlah dengan banyak teman, tidak usah pilih2 hanya mau berteman dengan sesama anak perempuan saja, bahwa berteman dengan anak laki2 tetap ok, bisa main sepeda2an atau bola atau petak umpet, intinya kreativitas, jangan batasi diri dengan segala macam faktor duniawi yang intinya menjual menjual menjual.. :)
4. Dan buat orangtua, ya harus sensitif juga, sensitif memilihkan barang2 untuk anaknya, tidak cuma melihat bungkus luarnya, tp esensi dari barang itu, jangan termakan bujuk rayu iklan tivi dan yang lain2nya. Maka marilah berdoa dan menguatkan diri.. heehee

I've been working over this cutey last month, hello all! This is Tobi, the new mascot for Toy City- local toy store in Indonesia, they also re-branding their logo's and stuff, and it becomes modern, simple, and cute:).
and about Tobi, he's one naughty monkeys, always running around, making a mess, but also smart and funny, some of my friend asking about his tail.., well you know accident happened to a naughty one, so... thats explained what happened right..? :)

Poor blog, I'm verrry veryyy lazy to do some update, so much things to do, but wake up! wake up! You've got to start to writing again..! Wish me luck on this..
I know girls like fairies, I like them too, but recently all the myth that I have about fairies is contaminated, yes, contaminated if I might said, with all the barbie like fairies stuff, and all the disney typical of fairies it's all so industrial and at the same time it's so commercial, so I really want to make this fairies not- look- a like all the girlie things that I've already said above.
It's still girlie, still have all the dazzling gown and stuff. But I might assure you that the fairy that I have in my mind since I was a little girl, they're in this book. So, enjoy .. :))
Don't get me wrong, I love Disney works, but not the industry :D

We went to Beijing on July, it's summer in there and the weather is surely hot, it's quite an experience, I like their culture and art, it is amazing and very details.
:: jade museum: they have this card that have a chinese character written for each western name :)

:: summer palace, there's an old man that is really captured my attention, and there he is.. :)

:: Cute little cheongsam isn't it, and I finally got my name on the stamp carved right on it, well the stamp really not as neat as the samples ( like on the right side on the photos) when I try it at home, but I'm quite happy :)
And a little bit tips :
1. For shopping in China: don't ask the price, only if you really get into it, otherwise they will holding your arms tightly asking you to bargain until you feel uneasy and buy the thing. Always check your shopping after they wrapped it, they usually switch the broken things or give you the wrong size in purpose. Just be extra careful.
2. There's a lot of yelling and spitting in China. They don't mean to be rough by yelling at you- it's only their custom, and about the spitting- it is all because there's a lot of dust in China, taking by the wind from the Yellow River.
3. And the cons goes to the public toilet, just be prepare to bring a lot and lot of tissue... *_*'
