UPDATE: I'll be hosting a one day workshop at LAAFA on Saturday, June 16 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The workshop is titled "Story Moments" and it's geared toward students who want to explore and develop moments for visual development. I'll be doing demos and discussing various topics including basic principles of design for film, lighting, and the importance of reference for film. Hope to see you there!
Comic-Con is just 3 weeks away! I'm currently completing my last aschcan sketchbook "Bit's and Pieces 5". Also available, I'll have my buddy Armand Baltazar's book available for sale. I'm hoping he can sit in and meet and sign books for all who come by. I'll be in Booth H9 along with the amazingly talented Jose Lopez, and budextradonairesPatrick Morgan, Ed Acosta & Taesoo Kim at Booth H10. Also nearby are my buds Mark McDonnell at booth C-9, Stephen Silver at booth H-06 and David Colman at booth H05 ! Also can't forgot my boys Octavio Rodriguez and Louie del Carmen, both at Booth G04!
The great guys from Trickster will be setting up their shop simultaneously with Comic Con at 795 J Street, San Diego. Such awesome artists who will attend or have their work available are:
Jason Shawn Alexander
Mike Allred
Laura Allred

My good friend and uber-awesome inspiring artist Armand Baltazar has just started two websites. His has a huge body of inspiring work and has started a personal project Collidescape, which looks simply beautiful!!!!!! He's been such an inspiration to me, both creatively and artistically! Definitely check his amazing work!!!

Hi folks,
It's been awhile since I've blogged but I wanted to share an amazing auction with you organized by uber artist extraodinaire and friend Dice Tsutsumi. Dice as well as many artists here at Pixar and elsewhere are auctioning sketches and doodles to help generate proceeds toward MercyCorp, who are assisting those still devastated by the Japan Earthquake 1 year ago.
In the coming week I'll have two doodles to contribute. I'll keep ya posted! Thank you so much y'all for all the love for such a wonderful cause!!!!
Just hit the link below and be amazed at all the beautiful and generous work so many wonderful artists are doing!
Artists Help Japan Auction
Just a quick hello and thank you to all the folks I had the pleasure of meeting at CTN! It's events like CTN that help connect and reconnect us to the thing we all love, art and animation!!! Keep creating and keep going forward!! in a few days, hopefully before Thanksgiving, I'll post a blogroll of all those wonderful folks I had the chance to see.
In the meantime, here is a photo and sketch of me done by the incredible James Gurney!!!
This photo is a collective sketch we did with my good friends Leonardo Olea, Francisco Herrera, Florian Satzinger, Greg Baldwin and Dave Guertin of CreatureBox, and Jose Lopez at our post dinner. The greatest guys ever!!!
