I am a self-taught artist using paper as my media of choice. One of my earliest memories is sitting next to my grandmother cutting and pasting my creations with paste she made from flour and water. My artistic nature formed early, drawing on my parents walls and tables and working with my hands. Apart from being an artist who fancies sewing, photography, metal smithing and woodworking, I am a wife and mother of two boys.

28. It's Only Wed?

This has been a weird week for me... things I've learned so far

1. I can walk into a room (stand still) and break things
2. My poor body is having a mid-life-crisis
3. Bruses can get the size of a baseball (thanks sofa)
4. My kids are so awsome!
5. Unicorns ROCK!

29. Goofy Kid

I saw this picture of me and immediately remembered what an goofy kid I was.

I was a master of goofy. I know what you're thinking, "we all make a fool out of ourselves once in awhile". Trust me when I tell you this...you never took it to my level. I was a really odd kid who didn't know up from down. I still have trouble with right and left.

If you're a girl you have probably made the occasional mud pie. I have to admit I was better at making them then any of the kids on my street. I mean really, you can't leave it in the sun too long or make the "icing" too thin. However, when it was time to go home I was the girl who took them with me and served them up on plates to eat! I actually took a bite once but bit down on a small rock and lost it.

How about the time my Mom found me in the field behind our house eating clovers...yes eating clovers. Here's how that conversation when down:

Mom: What the heck are you doing?
Me: Nothing
Mom: Well you're doing something, I can see the grass in your mouth
Me: I'm just eating sissle seeds (Duh)
Mom: Get that out of your mouth right now!
Me: Why? They are good for me
Mom: Ya know dogs and cats pee and poo there
Me: hummmm
Mom: Good lord Jennifer
Me: hummmm
Mom: (walking away)
Me: hummmm

Later, I recruited my next door neighbor Chris to join the grass party with me. Take that Mom!

30. Nevermind!

I'm back from my website...can't get the blog thing to look right on it. Anyway that's for all of you (3) people who actually read this blog. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, disregard.

Ever have a time in your life where you can't sleep? I have had several times but this Summer has been kicking my buttocks! The highlight of my night (while my husband snored away) was reading about Koko the gorilla's pet cats and her interaction with Robin Williams. Help!

It's really getting bad and I'm on little-to-no sleep for about three weeks now. Due in part because I stopped taking one of my crazy pills that helped me sleep. Annnyway, long story short it was to help me sleep which in turn when you stop taking it causes insomnia. Isn't that a plus negative thing gone wrong here?

This whole stop one of the crazy pills has really thrown my creativity for a loop. So I haven't got any really fun or freaking fantastic artwork to show you.

It's coming I promise...it just needs a nap.

36. New Patterns

Here I go again with the bright colors. I cut and colored all the paper myself with dye ink (that's why it's so bright).

I am loving my new Creative Mark Aquacover...that's what I used to brush the lines on the blue pedals. When you look really close you can see that the lines are done with a brush. I'm getting better everytime I use it. I think the key is to water it down a bit because it's super thick out of the bottle. My advise if using it for the first time is to water it down because it will give you better flow.

50. White Wedding

It's a nice day for a white wedding...now picture me singing it in a Billy Idol voice at my desk. HA! I have been thinking about that song (for some weird reason) while I have been working on these flowers for a wedding installation. I am excited to see them up. It took hours and hours (and hours) to do these. My neck and back is in pain...worth the pretty? Yes, I think so.
