More sketch cards! Hell ya! enjoy...
More sketch cards! Hell ya! enjoy...
It wouldn't be a tribute to Empire without a bunch of Yoda cartoons!! As I drew the 2 with Yoda sitting on the log, I thought of Kermit the Frog singing, "it ain't easy being green" haha
You can't tell from the scans, but all light saber hilts are metallic silver pen and all light saber blades are glitter! Yes you heard me "GLITTER" now I know you all want these cards! Oh and I even used white gel pen to make the snow all fluffy and white.
want to see more Star Wars cards? of course you do! here ya go and please promise not to hurt yourself giggling.
Man I wish a big fuzzy Wookiee would hug me!!!
Are you ready to see all the Star Wars sketch cards I did for the Topps ESB 30th anniversary? Really, you do? Ok...I'll show you since you are all so nice! hehe
I'll post a new group everyday until you are all sick of cute! then I'll post more and there will be kittens and hearts and glitter and big fluffy clouds....
My husband left yesterday to serve our country. He's training in Mississippi for a few weeks then off to Afghanistan for 7 months. I am sincerely proud of him and can not wait to have him back safely in my arms...but until that day, I will be working overtime to create cuteness! I have been behind on commissions for the last few weeks while I was spending time with my family...so top on my list is to get those finished! I'm also planning on starting a weekly web show on www.ustream.tv ! I'll work on commissions and projects while you all watch and we can chat together too!
So keep following, watching, commenting and enjoying my art!!!
So I've been super duper busy drawing and inking and coloring and then doing it all over again. I have a few more commissions to finish up before I take a few weeks off to spend with my Hubby before he goes off to Afghanistan for 7 months. I just finished work on 111 sketch cards for Breygent's Cartoon Classics (can't wait to show them off...) I was also asked to draw a few Star Wars cartoons for the Rebel Legion's coloring book which was probably way too much fun for me...
Here's a peak at the images I drew for them:
I will be reading/selling my children's book "The Wiener Dog Adventures" tomorrow at the Barnes & Noble - New Town Shops Williamsburg. Bring the kids for a day of fun, I'll be teaching them how to draw the cutest kittens and the cuddliest monsters too! http://store-locator.barnesandnoble.com/
Ever have one of those days where you just can't find happy? I did. And when that happens, the creative side of me shuts down. It's a form of artist-block and it's very icky. So after a day of mopey ickiness I decided I would force myself to draw myself happy as a form of therapy...here is what happened when pencil touched paper.
Oh how I love to force my kitties to love me. And of course the wiener dogs always laugh because they know they're next! So if you're having a gloomy icky day, draw yourself happy and see if it helps.
Saving my favorite for last...Boba Fett loading frozen Han onto Slave 1 on Bespin. I was really happy with the way the colors worked on this card. Who would have thought Boba would look so good against a pink background? um well, I guess I did! hehe
As soon as I get the approval to show off the rest of the SW ESB cards I will post them all!
This is the second to last sneak preview card...
Luke running away from the AT-AT that squished his speeder.
Need a bounty hunter? Here are a bunch of teeny tiny ones ready to go get those bounties for you! Just be careful you don't step on them and squish 'em.
Wampa's are so cute and innocent...this one is saying, "raawr I want to be your friend" of course then he'll rip your arms off and eat your face. Hey he's hungry! hehe
This is another Target Red Card.
I didn't post a new card yesterday! Oh No! I'll post two today! :o)
Here's Chewie (for the Target Red Cards) and poor Luke after his Daddy sliced off his hand...bummer.
Poor Wampa, he was just hungry and Luke looked so yummy. How's he going to hunt for food for his kids and wife with one arm? haha
For this set I used "glitter pens" to make the lightsabers look shiny. Yep I'm that awesome!
another card! Poor little space worm just wanted to eat the Falcon for a snack...
This is one of the "Target Red Cards" to be sold in pack exclusively at Target stores.
Here's another sneak peek of the 160 cards for the ESB 30th anniversary set. Poor Luke floating in Bacta to heal all his boo boos from the Wampa attack. (I love this one!)
As you may know from previous posts and comments on facebook and twitter...I did some cards for the upcoming "Topps Empire Strikes Back 30th Anniversary Set"! I finally completed them last week and was given permission to post a few "previews" so just because it's fun to tease...I'm going to show one a day! Hopefully I'll be able to post all 160 by the end of May so you'll all get to see how cute and adorable Vader, Yoda and friends can be.
This is from the Target exclusive set where the art had to be Red...it was a challenge for me because I love color...but I think the 54 cards I did in red turned out great.
It's been almost two weeks since my last doodle post. I'd love to say I've spent that time sitting in the sun sipping tea and eating muffins, but I don't like the sun, I hate tea and muffins are just wanna-be cupcakes. Ha! No, I've been preparing for my very first convention. I will be a guest artist at Shevacon, Southwest Virginia's premier sci-fi and fantasy convention!! yikes! I will be hosting a panel to teach kids how to draw "cute" and will be hanging out in the con's first "kids korner" drawing sketches for kids and of course coloring on some special coloring pages I created just for the con. It should be a great weekend and my Hubby and son are coming along to help out and enjoy the fun.
This is the last piece I finished last week to be added to the art show. I have 21 pieces that will be hanging in the show and hopefully some of them will sell!

For my Daddy, and all the dads out there who keep laughter in their hearts...even at their own expense.
And for my husband, who is a winner no matter his place in the race.
These two men are in themselves the greatest definition of the word "father". Thanks to you both for every day of laughter, love and encouragement!
Have a great father's day to all the dad's out there!
