Crafted at the Port of LA

Starting 4th of July Weekend in San Pedro at the Port of LA, Crafted is kicking off the summer with a variety of handmade vendors, food trucks, music and more. This permanent marketplace is promising to be a huge hit. It will be open every weekend–Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Renegade Craft Fair

Another fantastic handmade fair full of amazing artisans. It will be taking place July 28+29 at the Los Angeles Historic Park.

Canoga Park Artwalk 

Brought to you by 11:11 A Creative Collective, this epic event is happening every 3d Thursday between May till September. The Canoga Park Artwalk is the best Art event ever to hit the San Fernando Valley.  Its full of talented artists, vendors, food trucks and bands. It’s a place where the community can come together in support of art in the valley.

Ever since I was little, I knew I was going to be an artist. It didn’t matter to me how long it was going to take to achieve my goal to become a professional nor did it matter how hard it would be to make a living. I was going to do exactly what I loved and nothing in the world was going to stop me. And now here I am doing what I love–building my artistic empire one sale at a time.

Are you you living up to your fullest self expression? Self Expression is not about being driven by fear, anger or trying to prove yourself. Rather it is about pursuing a dream that you are most passionate about and having the courage to live as who you truly are. It may not be the safest route nor the easiest but is definitely the most rewarding.

I truly believe that doing what I am passionate about is the most important thing in the world. It is what lights me up and gives me the drive to go forward. It is what gets me up in the morning.
And its not that I don’t have doubts or fears. Many times I experience self doubt and uncertainty about the future. At least a few times a day a thought pops into my head about how it would be so much simpler to just get a “real job”. It would certainly make life a lot easier.
But at the end of the day, I go to sleep with no regrets. My life is filled with the things I love.

I don’t think its my job to preach to anyone what they should do with their lives. If you choose to live a life where you put aside your dream for the sake of stability and safety, than that is your choice–and its valid choice. You might have very good reasons. Just make sure that you can live with that choice.

I am committed to full self expression for myself and for others. I am a space for human beings to find their creative voice. My journey has been interesting so far, filled with ups and downs–and yet I am still here more empowered than ever to continue to create. I know what my place is in the world and I am very grateful for that.

I have been watching an amazing new show on Hulu Plus called Once Upon a Time. If you are a fan of fantasy and fairy tales as I am, you will love this show. Fairy Tale characters are trapped by a dark queen’s evil curse in a Modern town called Storybrook.

You have classic characters like Snow White, Prince Charming, Pinocchio, Rumpelstiltskin and many others. The fairy tale characters don’t remember who they are and struggle to live in a world where they are torn from the people the love.

The fairy tale stories all have a twist to them. What I really love about this show is that the characters are three dimensional and act and behave like real human beings. Even the dark Queen, the main villain of the show, has depth. I can’t help but feel sympathy for her even though she does all these evil things.

The season is almost over and I am really hoping that it gets picked up for a second one. Have my fingers crossed.

The twin girls can be interpreted in many different ways. They inspire a sense of longing for a forgotten past.

The Glass Tile Pendant is 1 1/4″ tall by 7/8″ wide.
This necklace comes with a silver plated Chain. 16″. Other sizes might be available. Convo me if you need a different size. Waterproof, sturdy and durable.

Sometimes I like to add a little bit of spirituality and New Age into my product line. The image started off as a drawing. I liked it so much that I decide to color it and turn into jewelry.

Wondercon 2012 was held in the Anaheim convention center on the weekend of March 16-18. As I set up my artist alley table on Friday morning, I found myself among many amazing artists, writers and crafters. As in previous shows I was offering a selection of jewelry pieces and prints of various sizes. Interestingly enough, many of my abstract art jewelry sold more than the characters pieces.

The highlight of the show was on Sunday around 5pm when my Boyfriend Shawn sold my original piece “Heartfelt” a bunny holding a heart while I was away from my table.

I maybe a little late on this, but I would like to say goodbye to 2011. It has been an an interesting, intense and exciting year. I am proud of what I have accomplished: organizing 5 group shows in LA, participated in the Ink for a Cause tattoo convention and Long Beach Comic-con, Pink Parlour Festival and many other events I have had the pleasure to attend and show my work at.  I got my jewelry line into 3 boutiques: Mindfulnest in Santa Monica and Burbank and Happy Six also in Santa Monica.

Also as part of my attempt to bring a little stability into my finances I decided to take on some part-time bartending on the side to pay the bills. This month I am moving to NoHo arts district with my amazing boyfriend Shawn.

So I will now say good-bye to 2011 and welcome the new year with even more enthusiasm.

This year, as every other year,  I want to accomplish many things. But this year will be an especially important year for me. I will be taking the time to explore my artistic vision and develop a body of work that I would like to show in galleries. At the same time I will be working on that book that has been on mind for some time now. Now that I have a part-time job that pays the bills, I can focus on the stuff I really want to make. This year will be a true test of commitment to my artistic vision.

I am ready for 2012. Bring it on!!!

If you are a big art nerd like me than you can appreciate a weekend of artwork, Star Wars music, light saber fights comic book industry panels. I can honestly say Long Beach Comic Con was a lot of fun. The first day, Saturday, I wore my Alice in Wonderland costume. My boyfriend was there being very supportive and helpful. I met a lot of really talented and friendly artists. This was definitely a great place to network and connect with my fan base.

This weekend also really inspired me and gave me a lot of new ideas for future projects. So what’s next? A collab project with my man. It will be a children book filled with short stories and poems based on my illustrations. Shawn will be writing. I will provide the artwork.

Next stop….Wonder Con.

This Gothic Fairy Jewelry Girl black cat lovers Fantasy Pendant necklace is made for girls who love cats and fairies.

he Story: This little Gothic girl is a fairy with green wings and is standing with her favorite cat, Maxie. Her name is Neon and she has black hair and is wearing heavy eye makeup and a hot pink shirt with a cat’s head on the front. There is a whimsical abstract tree in the background against a blue sky. Little purple fruits are hanging from the tree. Neon and Maxie go on all kinds of adventures. Together they plan on taking over the world. But for now they are causing mischief in small towns and farms.
