the creative process of writing and illustrating
1. a fresh start

Here I am back where I started from--when I first started blogging back in 2004 on blogger.com for free and somewhat in secret. I have the desire to be invisible somewhat again--to leave the old blog on typepad behind. I don't know why--but I just feel like my reasons to blog are very different than they were the last go round.

That--and the fact that I just love starting anew. Fresh clean slates appeal to me. I hate dragging all those old posts around. Gets too heavy.

I've been very unfocused the last few years--feeling pulled in one direction and then the next. Feeling fickle about where I should be. I can't promise that won't happen again. I usually get obsessed about an idea and indulge and then abandon--but I usually do return eventually.

In this blog, I hope to explore the writer's journey as that's where I'm at these days. But I hate labels, so don't hold me to it. I'm also working on a new kid's book due for publication in the next year so I'll be illustrating as well and sharing all that. So, for now, you can expect a lot of talk about that process. But, then again--you never know...

I'm a creative soul and I go where the muse takes me...

Enjoy! And thanks for stopping by!
