Welcome to Day 8 of my Blogoversary Bash! Julie Kagawa is the author of The Iron Fey series: Meghan Chase has a secret destiny—one she could never have imagined… Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home. When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and
Happy Blogoversary! I love Julie's The Iron Fae Series! I have not read Nevermore too but it's in my TBR list for a while now. The Replacement was wicked and the faes there screws up badly. :p

-Len-
maidenveil(at)gmail(dot)com
+JMJ+

I love Julie's understanding of Faeries as well! It certainly makes me more confident about her books. =)

And is anyone else reminded of A Midsummer Night's Dream? The Faeries in that one don't mean to screw up the lives of the humans they run into--unlike, say, the Greek gods do--which is why it ends up a comedy rather than a tragedy. But
I love Julie's Iron Fey series! I also agree with her book list. These were all great reads.

findjessyhere at gmail dot com
All of these books are on my TBR list, I am so far behind.
Happy blogoversary.
I am a gfc follower.
debbie
[email protected]

Yay, I've read 2 out of 3 of these! I also loved all the connections to Poe in Nevermore. And, of course, I'm a fan of the Hunger Games (although Team Gale? What? No. Team Peeta all the way). Still have to read The Replacement - I've heard some mixed things about it, but overall positive I think, and I like the way Julie describes it.

tapestrybookblog(at)gmail(dot)com
The Hunger Games is one of my all time favorites. And I really liked The Replacement too. I haven't read Nevermore yet, but it's on my to-read list.

daniellesaunders1984(at)hotmail(dot)com

I have been looking for a copy of Nevermore for absolutely ages! I couldn't find it in the bookstore (maybe I was looking in the wrong place?) and the library search had never heard of it! I absolutely LOVE Nevermore. This novel, for me, is one of a kind. I never thought I could read something as amazing as this book. The only shame is that we have to wait until 2012 to read the sequel.

Welcome to Day 6 of my Blogoversary Bash! Kelly Keaton is the author of Darkness Becomes Her: Ari can’t help feeling lost and alone. With teal eyes and freakish silver hair that can’t be changed or destroyed, Ari has always stood out. And after growing up in foster care, she longs for some understanding of where she came from and who she is. Her search for answers uncovers just one message
I've heard a lot about firelight. Kelly's comment on this book makes me want to read it more. My sister has a copy of The Hollow. I think I might give it a go :)

[email protected]
You keep giving me more to add to my TBR list, at this rate I'll never finish it! The only one I've read of these is Firelight and I loved the fact that it was something new - I hadn't ever read a paranormal with a dragon, which happens to be my favorite fantasy species. And the rest have been added to my TBR, as I hadn't even heard of them.

greenparrot55 [at] hotmail [
I bought Firelight a few weeks ago from The Book Depository but haven't received it yet. Now I've got to jump on that one as soon as I get it!

erikadlugo@yahoo(DOT)com
I love when authors recommend books and when they tell us what are their fav books - it makes it easier to me to decide what to read next. Firelight's been on my TBR list for a while and I just moved it up higher to start reading it ASAP. And added Te Hollow and A Brush of Darkness to that pile - OMG, unicorn? Enchanted iPod? Bring it on!:D

Great interview - Kelly's awesome!;)<
Kelly Firelight and both the Hollow look like great books I'm intrigued by dragons and urban legends also and I can't wait to read Darkness becomes Her!!!

[email protected]
Gosh! I really need to read Firelight already! A Brush of Darkness is already on my wishlist! ;)

Awesome interview!! I love Kelly to death!

[email protected]
The tiny unicorn was my favorite part about A Brush of Darkness :) Firelight has been sitting on my bookshelf for quite awhile now...I really need to read it.

throuthehaze at gmail dot com
I'm definitely going to check out A Brush of Darkness! I've stopped reading adult UF because it's all so similar, but this one sounds unique! :)
Interesting favorites. I am very interested in Firelight and The Hollow. These books are already on my to read list. Nice to see them get positive reviews!

jennifer.kalman at gmail dot com
Great list! I really want to read Firelight and The Hollow.
Darkness Becomes Her sounds amazing!

artgiote at gmail dot com

I really want to read A Brush of Darkness, I love unicorns and the enchanted ipod has me curious too.

vampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
So glad I have Firelight on my bookshelf! Hopefully I'll have the time to read it soon! :)

I can't wait to get Darkness Becomes Her and read it! I loved Firelight as well.

Vivien
deadtossedwaves at gmail dot com
Oooo, Firelight is on my list too. I need to get to it. And I see the cover of the second one has been making its way around. Beautiful! I've heard great things of The Hollow too. :) And I want to get a copy of A Brush Of Darkness as it sounds wonderful. :)

Thanks!

[email protected]
I still have to read Firelight too! Such an original idea.

I will admit to never having even heard of A Dance Through Time. I love James MacLeod already :)

ayleejaine(at)gmail(dot)com
Firelight and The Hollow were on my to read list but now th others are too :)
[email protected]
Wow, I didn't know that The Hollow was a reference to Sleepy Hollow! Makes me so much more interested in reading it!
lexie.bookbug(AT)gmail(DOT)com
This book sounds really good! And I love this cover :) Thanks for Kelly's Faves :)

[email protected]
It sounds like a really interesting read, not to mention that I love the cover for the book, it's beautiful

af.love78(at)gmail(dot)com

Welcome to Day 5 of my Blogoversary Bash! Kersten Hamilton is the author of Tyger Tyger: Teagan Wylltson's best friend, Abby, dreams that horrifying creatures--goblins, shape-shifters, and beings of unearthly beauty but terrible cruelty--are hunting Teagan. Abby is always coming up with crazy stuff, though, so Teagan isn't worried. Her life isn't in danger. In fact, it's perfect. She's on
Delirium has great pacing, and on the adult side anything Jeaniene Frost has written.

[email protected]
One of my favorite books with unique characters and plot is Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde.
I am a GFC follower.
rickimc[at]aol[dot]com
Thanks for the great list! I want to get to Rick Riordan's series. Both of them actually. :)

OOOOOhhhhh I WANT this book! I loved reading it and want to have it on the shelf so I can Show it off and tease my friends with it. :) I know they would love it if they just saw it. :)

+1 I follow on Twitter, for a while now. :) @MelLHay
+1 Tyger Tyger is on my Read list on
Oh, a recommendation. :) Sorry I was all excited.

Um, well I'm reading City of Bones at the current moment, and I really am enjoying the pacing and the characters in this book. It's really done nicely to keep the pages turning.

But I really enjoyed Hunger Games as the pacing was fast forward with the characters. And an interesting take on the world created.
<
Hello there!
My list of books has different genres in it, I wasn't sure which one you would like:

1) the crimson petal and the white (faber).
Set in Victorian England, it is a lovely, compelling story of love and struggle.

2) Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare.
Also set in Victorian England, a bit of shadohunter and steampunk for a great book.

3
ops, forgot the link to my good reads profile http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7740225-tyger-tyger

added!
+JMJ+

Pacing, aye? Hmmmm . . .

I'd recommend Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman. It's about a boy who has to escape a diabolical amusement park. It has to be fast-paced and action-packed because he has one night to survive seven rides, but at the same time, it gives him (and the reader) the necessary "downtime" for reflection. Shusterman is pretty great
For pacing, plot and characters: Anything by Robin McKinley, except possibly Spindles End and especially The Blue Sword. She is an amazing author that I love. Also, a local author for me, though little know, Zoe Marriott, her books are works of art in themselves.

Though my all time favourite character is Katniss from The Hunger Games

+1 I'm a follower as kizz.the.shiz

I just finished reading a copy of Tyger Tyger, that I borrowed from the library, yesterday. It's now on my list of favorite books. I can't wait for the sequel! I'd love to own a copy to loan out to friends and family.
It's hard to narrow recommendations down to a few, my list started with 12 and those are just my favorite books and series. But here are few:
For
I could not put down Under the Dome by Stephen King. Yes I know it's 1000 pages, but the pacing is so phenomenal you don't even realize it. I'll also say Fire by Kristen Cashore is done really well. I also just read Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran and fell in love with the french revolution.

+1 added on goodreads shelf
http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/4113215-vivien

Okay I've got a few to recommend :) If you like YA, you should definitely go for Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. That book is just fantastic. Then there's Across the Universe by Beth Revis, which was written amazingly. There's Incarceron and Sapphique by Catherine Fisher, which are both amazing dystopian books. And if you're into great vampire stories, then shoot for Vampire
I've been wanting to read Tyger Tyger for a long time. This was a great post about writing, thank you so much for the recommendations.

I love the Hunger Games trilogy for characters, plot and pacing. I still have yet to get to those books, but they're on my list! I've heard of Ship Breaker, but I don't think my library has it, and it sounds really interesting. I'll have to order it for the library. And I haven't
I've seen The Replacement on a few different blogs, and it's definitely piqued my interest. I really want it! This is the first time of Finnikin of the Rock, and that book also sounds really interesting.

- Jackie
jacqueline.c.goodman AT gmail DOT com
I love Morganville Series by Rachel Caine!
I've lost track of how many times a book by Melina Marchetta has been recommended to me and yet I have still yet to read one! Finnikin of the Rock sounds simply awesome and I would also like to get around to reading Jellicoe Road.

And of course I must read The Lost Hero as well. But first I have to tackle the Percy Jackson series which I know I'll love once I get around to
Ship Breaker sounds pretty good.
I haven't heard much about it. I'll have to give it a try.
Oh Gee. I haven't read any of these. I have The Replacement on my whislist since forever.*ashamed*
Well, and now I've got my eye on FINNIKIN OF THE ROCK. Fantasy, a quest, deep emotions, twists...omg I want it! Okay, I'm going Book Depository shopping now.

jen7waters AT gmail DOT com
I'm still not sure how I feel about The Replacement. I couldn't put it down, it was that good, but it really was very dark.I read a lot of paranormal so it's saying something if I think a book is dark. I think it really spooked me out, lol.

The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod by Heather Brewer and The Monsturmologist by Rick Yancey are two of my favorite series told from the

Welcome to Day 3 of my Blogoversary Bash! Lisa Desrochers is the author of Personal Demons: Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She has spent years keeping everyone at a distance—-even her closest friends—-and it seems as if her senior year is going to be more of the same . . . until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but
I hate to say that I havent read any of these but have heard amazing things about the Hunger Games series and If I stay by Gayle Forman were amazing.

Nice selection Lisa!

[email protected]
I haven't read most of these books but I have to agree with Lisa's comments about Mockingjay. It was definitely my favorite read of 2010 and a classic trilogy.
lexie.bookbug(AT)gmail(DOT)com
A great collection of books there. Mockingjay was amazing. I hope you enjoy it. The Duff isn't out here yet but I'm looking forward to it a lot.
The Truth About Forever is one of my favorites too, I love Wes!!!

korra_950(at)hotmail(dot)com
I've only read Mockingjay and of the others, only The Truth about forever isn't on my TBR list. Maybe I'll add it. Another of her books is on my list, Just Listen. I've heard good things about that one.
Yeah, If I Stay is definitely at the top of my favorite books! It's so amazing. <3

Thanks for sharing, Lisa!
Great picks! I really have to read If I Stay! I've been eyeing it at the library a few times...next time I'll visit I'll be sure to pick it up! :)

yavampire(at)hotmail.com
If I Stay, The Time Traveler's Wife, The Truth About Forever, and The Duff are all on my TBR list!! I really want to read these books but I don't don't actually have the physical book.

I heard great things about If I Stay on several blogs. I been dying to read The Time Traveler's Wife for quite a while now. The Truth About Forever has been on my mind and I really want
I haven't read any of these books but I have been wanting to read the Hunger Games series for awhile now. And I heard If I Stay is amazing.

vampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
Awesome list of books there, many are my all-time faves, too! If I Stay is especially incredible. And I loved the DUFF--I've heard it said that the DUFF is one of those books people either love or hate. It was definitely one of my faves from 2010!

I think it's funny, too, that you don't have any paranormal on your list.

caldellizzi(at)gmail(dot)com
Those are excellent faves. I haven't read The Duff yet, but the others are great! I really enjoyed the Time Traveler's Wife. So gut wrenching.

Vivien
deadtossedwaves at gmail dot com
Believe it or not, I haven't read any of these! I do want to read the Hunger Games trilogy and have two of the three books.

meredithfl at gmail dot com
GFC follower
I really need to re-read The Time Traveler's Wife (not that I ever have enough time to re-read)! I read it when I was in high school, but I don't remember how it ends, and that kills me!
One of my favorites is The Truth About Forever. I love Wes and Macy's relationship.

erinberry12 at charter dot net
I loved Mockingjay and The Truth About Forever as well! In fact, I am a fan of Sarah Dessen and so I totally agree about the boys in her books! :)

chibipooh(at)gmail(dot)com
The Time Traveler's Wife has been on my TBR forever! Gah, I wish I had more time to read more books. And hurray that another author has Mockingjay in her top reads! I also got it on release day and read it until I was done. Such an emotional journey but a good one!

ayleejaine(at)gmail(dot)com
the synopsis of If I Stay intrigued me. I haven't seen this book in person but I sure wish i have.
i've read the truth about forever and i can honestly say that this is my favorite sarah dessen book (i've read all of them except keeping the moon)
The Duff piqued my interest. man-whore? hmm. that's a newconcept for me.
i've ready the hunger games trilogy and it&
I haven't read these books but I really want to do because these sound interesting.

artgiote at gmail dot com
I love The Time Traveler's Wife! Great novel, even if the ending is really... there's not a word for it. Haven't read any of the others, but I think they should probably go on my list.

greenparrot55 [at] hotmail [dot] com
THis is another author herself I need to get reading. :) But these are books I've heard of around the blogs and they do sound amazing! :) Hunger Games once again is just out standing. :)

Thank you!

[email protected]
I loved The Duff too! Actually, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. In fact, you summed it up perfectly!
If I Stay also is one of my favourite books ever! It's so wonderfully written, it's just mind blowing. Where She Went is the book of 2011 I want to read most desperately. I also liked Mockingjay a lot.

[email protected]

Welcome to Day 2 of my Blogoversary Bash! Rebecca Maizel is the author of Infinite Days (Vampire Queen #1): Lenah Beaudonte is, in many ways, your average teen: the new girl at Wickham Boarding School, she struggles to fit in enough to survive and stand out enough to catch the eye of the golden-boy lacrosse captain. But Lenah also just happens to be a recovering five-hundred-year-old vampire
I absolutely love the Vamp Academy Series!! Amazing. I have the Spirit Bound on the way and I cannot wait to read it! I really want to read Mockingbird too I have heard great things. Lovely selection of books Rebecca!!

[email protected]
I've had people tell me to read Vampire Acadamy also. It keeps getting pushed down on my TBR list. I just need to read it. With all the great recommendations for it, I'm sure I'll like it. I'd not heard of Year of the Dog so I need to add that to the list also!
Thank you!
I loved The Sky is Everywhere. It is such a beautifully written story. I really want to read Mockingbirds too. I heard really good things about it.

findjessyhere at gmail dot com
The Vampire Academy Series is amazing, I love it!!!!! Infinite Days sounds great!!!!

korra_950(at)hotmail(dot)com
Out of the six books featured in this post, I have 5 of them here on my bookshelf. Out of those 5, I've only actually read one so far - Infinite Days (great book!) so I still have the other four to read.

You've picked out great books. I'm heard awesome things about them :D
I have been wanting to read the Vampire Academy series like forever now but not sure why I haven't yet either but its on my list and I have heard awesome things about The Mockingbirds.

vampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
I love the Vampire Acamedy series! They are so amazing. I haven't read Year of the Dog, it sounds interesting enough. I really want to read The Sky Is Everywhere and The Mockingbirds! I heard great things of these 2 books and I can't wait to get my hands on them!

monicascat (at) hotmail (dot) com
This book has such a cool premise! I love that the girl is the immortal mature one--it's usually the guys. Anyway, good luck on the master's program! I also majored in English for my Bachelor's and want to get my Master's in it. I had no idea they had majors for writing for ya!
I absolutely adore the Vampire Academy series. So much I got an inspired tattoo. I also really enjoyed Infinite Days. So much that I found a replica of Lenah's necklace. I cannot wait for Stolen Nights GAH!

Vivien
deadtossedwaves at gmail dot com
I haven't read any of these books, but I'm thinking I need to get a hold of Year of the Dog. The synopsis seems interesting. I love the bright, bold cover!

jacqueline.c.goodman AT gmail DOT com

- Jackie
I love Dimitri from Vampire Academy! So much my dog was named after him: Dimka! And Rose Hathaway is side by side with Anita Blake as my favorite book girl! The Mockingbirds and Infinite Days are on my TBR!

milagp1(at)yahoo(dot)com(dot)br
The vampire academy is my favorite series. The Sky is Everywhere and Mockingbirds have not read them but I really want to do.
Infinite Days sounds amazing!!!

artgiote at gmail dot com
Hey, hey....I'm giving away the arc of DIVERGENT I won on Veronica's blog if you're still interested! The book is awesome!

http://freckle-head.blogspot.com/2011/02/arc-contest-divergent.html
I haven't read any on your list. I have heard a lot of good things about Vampire Academy but haven't started it yet. That is cool you are obsessed! I love books like that.
[email protected]
Aw Casey, if it makes you feel any better I've so badly lost track of the books I own that I've even re-bought them not realized I already had a copy! In my (sort of) defense, a lot of my books are in storage :)

I really need to read the Vampire Academy series. I've been so turned off by the covers, but I've heard such good things.
The Mokingbirds really intrigues me... I often read that's a disturbing read... The king of reading you remember a long time afterwards, as Rebecca says... I really have to read this one, one day!

pisisbook[at]hotmail[dot]fr

Thanks for sharing! I absolutely agree that Vampire Academy is an awesome series! :)

chibipooh(at)gmail(dot)com
I also have yet to read Vampire Academy. I think I've been putting it off because I'm a bit burnt out on vampires right now but hearing everyone talk about Dimitri all the time has got me intrigued :)
i'm currently reading the vampire academy series. it's quite good. i'm currently reading the fifth book.

I just heard of The Sky Is Everywhere and The Mockingbirds on this post. I'll definitely check it out. :)

email: [email protected]
I think I'm going to have to give the Vampire Academy series a try as well (or at least the first one) because I keep hearing everyone raving about it! I've heard more mixed things about The Mockingbirds but it seems a little controversial so I'm interested to see what I think of it.

tapestrybookblog(at)gmail(dot)com

As I mentioned yesterday, eight of my favorite authors will be stopping by over the next week to share their favorite reads of the last year! Kate Kaynak is the author of Minder (Ganzfield #1): Sixteen-year-old Maddie Dunn is special, but she needs to figure out how to use her new abilities before somebody else gets hurt. Ganzfield is a secret training facility full of people like her, but
What a lovely post. I love seeing what author's enjoy reading. Kate is such a sweetie.

I agree completely with her on Paranormalcy. Evie's narrative voice is what really hooked me into the story. I'd have to say Paranormalcy is one of my favorite recent reads. I hope you enjoy it!
Whoops! I forgot my email address :)

imagesandwords at optonline dot net

Thanks for the opportunity!
I love see what author's are reading and what their fave's are.

I have the Hunger games set for a reading challenge next month.

vampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
Wow, I really have to put Half-Blood on my wishlist! It sounds really good!

yavampire(at)hotmail.com
Paranormalcy was so cute and refreshing. Loved it. Mockingjay was a bit of a letdown for me.

Vivien
deadtossedwaves at gmail dot com
I loved both Mockingjay and Paranormalcy. I haven't heard of Half-Blood though. I will definitely have to check it out.

findjessyhere at gmail dot com
Aaah Mockingjay, my best read of the year 2010! So powerful, I couldn't put it down, I just had to keep reading. I often wanted to cry while I was reading it...

pisisbook[at]hotmail[dot]fr
These are some great book choices. Mockingjay is on my tbr list, and I've heard great things about Paranormalcy. Half-Bloods is new to me but sounds fab!
bookishdelightsblog at gmail dot com
I read Mockinghjay already and it was a let down for me. I heard wonderful things about Paranormalcy! I haven't heard of Half-Bloos and I read the description of it on GoodReads. I think I will proabaly enjoy it!

monicascat (at) hotmail (dot) com
Mocking jay is one of my all time favourites too, although I have to say that The Hunger Games was even better.

Loving the over on Half Blood. It's gorgeous!

Theslowestbookworm(at)gmail(dot)com
Kate always has great reads!! I cannot wait for Half Blood to come out. I love Kate's Ganzfield series. Trevor yum!! lol Great post! I haven't read much of these but will definitely be picking them up :)
oops forgot the email address :( I meant to leave it all in one post sorry

[email protected]
I feel so out of the literary world loop. I still haven't read the Hunger Games! At least I own it, and it is on my TBR list. I guess I should get to it!

I'd really like to get my hands on both Paranormalcy and Half-Blood. I think Kiersten White's titles are so clever! And the book cover for Half-Blood is so beautiful!

- Jackie

Great post! Mockingjay and Paranormalcy are some of my favorite reads too! I haven't heard of the third one but I will definitely have to check it out!
I loved Mockingjay. Now I'm going to look out for Paranormalcy
I've only read Hunger Games up till now and I absolutely loved and intend to read Catching Fire and Mockingjay for sure when they are released in my country. Paranormalcy is also on my TBR pile and I'm happy everyone enjoyed it!

milagp1(at)yahoo(dot)com(dot)br
Oh my gosh! I totally agree with you on Paranormalcy (love that book) it is an awesome book.
I have still only read The Hunger Games, and I'm going to have to re-read it before I can read the last two books.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on getting an ARC of Half-Blood because it sounds so good.

Thanks for sharing. ^_^

Orchid
hauntingorchid (
Thanks for the post! I thought Mockingjay was awesome too. Paranormalcy is on my TBR list and I plan to get to it soon, and as for Half-Blood, it sounds like my kinda read so that is going on my TBR list now! :)

chibipooh(at)gmail(dot)com
Glad to see someone else enjoyed Mockingjay as much as I did! I know a lot of people were disappointed or didn't like the characters as much (as Kate mentions) but I felt it was a perfect ending to the series.

ayleejaine(at)gmail(dot)com
hunger games trilogy = <3

i want to read Half-Blood because of this post! Vampire academy + percy jackson theme. That's got to be the most awesome combination ever! :)

email: [email protected]
The only one I've actually read is Paranormalcy - I had a friend offer to let me borrow Mocking Jay and then she never did, I really must get on the wait list for that... I've added Half-Blood to my list though, it sounds awesome!

greenparrot55 [at] hotmail [dot] com
Oh I absolutely LOVED the Hunger Games! It was a facinating story. :) I had to suggest it to a friend of mine with two children who have loved it. :) And the other two are on my WANT list as well! :) Thanks!

[email protected]
