3. Call for Submissions: Restless from Wild Age Press

Wild Age Press is starting a new daily e-zine, but Restless isn’t going to be just any lit mag. We’re going to focus on the edgiest work being written today, the things more conservative journals are too scared to touch. Send us:

prose under 750 words
poems one page or less
visual art, color or b&w
photography, color or b&w
comics, color or b&w
audio less than 2 minutes
video less than 2 minutes

postcard lit — send us your handmade postcards, with or without a poem or story written on the back, or mail us a postcard from an interesting place in the world with a poem or story inspired by the image(s) featured on the front
mini reviews (under 750 words) of books published in the past six months
short interviews with authors, artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, or other cool people

10. Call for Submissions: Rose Red Review

Rose Red Review is now accepting submissions for its Summer 2014 issue!

Rose Red Review is published four times a year, in homage to the passing season. In fairy tales, the future is unknown, often summarized by the vague phrase “happily ever after,” but each character is influenced by his or her past, and we, like the characters, live in the moment as we read their story. Rose Red Review seeks to publish art, fiction, photography, and poetry that best reflects the magic in the every day–work that honors the past, the moment, and the uncertain future.

13. Call for Fiction and Nonfiction Submissions: The Flexible Persona

The Flexible Persona is an interactive literary magazine that publishes fiction and non-fiction in both audio and text format online.

What do we publish?

We are most interested in fiction that is engaging, character-driven, and focused on relationships (familial, friend, love, work, etc). We’re looking for work that carries emotional weight, shows characters changed and relationships evolved. We firmly believe this kind of work happens in all genres and we accept any genre except historical fiction.

We look for non-fiction that explores how people find a sane, happy life in a basically insane world. Stories of how outsiders sustain themselves, the struggle to maintain individuality in a conformist world, and explorations of unique communities appeal to us.

The Flexible Persona acquires first-time North American rights. After publication, all rights revert to the author and the work may be reprinted with courtesy acknowledgement of TFP.

Maximum 5500 words. We accept simultaneous submissions. Please submit through submittable.com.

What Happens If My Work Is Accepted?

Each month we publish both fiction and non-fiction stories on our website and also in audio format. Here's how it works! Writers, send us your work. If we accept it, we'll give you the option of recording a high-quality audio version of yourself reading your work, or we'll produce a reading ourselves.
