6. Draw Tip Tuesday: How To Deal With The Blank Page

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!
Do you ever fear that first blank page in a brand new sketchbook? I think we all do. It’s a blank slate, a new start. Which is awesome, but what if that first drawing doesn’t quite work out the way it looked in your head? Um well, nothing disastrous about that, BUT it can make you procrastinate on your first drawing in a new sketchbook. Procrastinating could easily lead you out of the drawing habit, and we don’t want that!
Have no fear. There’s a simple solution and it’s a golden oldie.

7. Draw Tip Tuesday – Illustration ideas

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

When you don’t know what to draw… Then, what to draw?
The things you like most are actually a lot of fun to draw. The subject will be familiar to draw, and enjoyable.
I love food related art, and I love good coffee, so today I just pick a few favourite styles of coffee, and draw those. Adding banners to use as ‘titles’ for each item is a great way to unify the elements in your illustration. For these coffees, I can write the ingredients and even the measurements next to it, and then it becomes an illustrated recipe!

One of my favourite “go-tos”, to draw in my art journal is coffee. What’s yours?

23. Draw Tip Tuesday - The contents of my Sketch Bag

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!
Don't you just love snooping through other people's pencil cases? And I've had quite a few questions lately about the materials I use, so I thought I'd give you a little peek into my sketchbag today.

The contents of my Sketch bag always change a little bit over time. I add something, and then something else has to go, because otherwise the bag will be too full. I could get a larger sketch bag of course, but I don’t want to waste any valuable draw time by linguering over which of the many tools I should use. I want to just pick up a tool and start drawing right away!
So there’s today’s tip for you: yes, art supplies are great, but narrow them down as well, so your drawing time is spent on drawing and not on fiddling around and being indecisive.
