This blog topic is almost too difficult for me to answer! I don't think I have a specific "dream" assignment in my head, I just have certain styles/mediums that I'd like to explore one of these days. I would love to do something in pencil--mostly black and white or grayscale. A chapter book, maybe? Something in a more graphic style?
My dreams change all the time.

My dream assignment would be to work on a project with author, Karma Wilson. I love her writing style and collect all of her books. I first discovered her work when I took Anastasia Suen's writing course and was studying picture books in rhyme. I've been hooked ever since.

...would be something dark, and scary, and definitely involving MONSTERS! Don't get me wrong, I love painting kids, and parks, and zoo animals - but monsters and scary things have always held a special place in my heart.

This is really beautiful. Excellent illustration.
Oh my... Eric is so right.. this is beautiful Laura. I love the contrast of the b&w background with the red bag. Is too adorable for words! :o)
I'm with Eric and Ali, gorgeous illustration, Laura! I want to know his story!
Me too...love it to bits especially the contrast between the grayscale and pop of red!
Oooooooh, I love the look of the b&w with a punch of red. This would be a great project for you!
