2. Winnie the Pooh and the Hunny Badger, too

My all-time favorite picture book:
Winnie the Pooh and the Hunny Badger, too.

Doozy Studio thought it would be funny to feature Pooh Bear, a honey pot, and the Hunny Badger all in the same story... boy, were they ever right!

6. I Clam What I Clam

He's Popeye the Sailor Clam... he smells strong to the finish 'cause he eats seaweed, not spinach.

I'm not a poet, and I know it.

8. Joyeux Ride

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house...
Winter Games

#$%@! those dreaded beard-lice are back, just in time to louse up Christmas eve! Is there a fumigator stirring in the house?

9. Beatle Beetle

The Fab Five

An illustration of an eight-legged Beetle, done back in '04. Included in the book: "Beatles Art: Fantastic New Artwork of the Fab Four" by Linda Webb. I already posted this one for another challenge, but thought I'd be a good citizen, and recycle.

10. Rock 'em Sock 'em Blowhards

An animation I did a few years ago spoofing a well-known celebrity feud... serves 'em both right.

11. Vampire Meets The Invisible Man

An excerpt from a Flash storyboard I started a couple of years ago. It became one of those projects that seemed destined to languish forever in back-burner obscurity, so I finally decided to reformat this gag into a single-page comic.

12. Green Legs and Ham

Hi Ho, Kermit the Frog, and Family Here!

Kermie, Miss Piggy, and their cute little tad-pig (or is he a pig-pole?), enjoying a sunny day, and sweeping the clouds away in Sesame Pond. They've decided to name the little guy: Bacon N. Legs... think of the culinary possibilities!

This one's my post for Family, and Frog, and even a late entry for Feast, hey tastes like Chicken, too! Wow, at this rate, I might be able to make this one last through 2010!

13. The Masked Baster

Dispensing truth, justice, and steaming- hot turkey fat!

I did a sketch of this foul fowl on Turkey Day, just before slipping into a tryptophan-induced coma. If you want to avoid the wrath of the Masked Baster, at your Christmas feast, you may want to opt for a tofu turkey... I'm gonna take my chances with the real thing.

14. Elves Wanted

A visit from the Ghost of Christmas Cards Past.

This one goes back almost 20 years – it was my first greeting card sale. The landscape version was a postcard I sent out as a direct-mail promo. I was contacted about a week later by a greeting card company wanting to buy it. I was pretty psyched to make the sale, but then I found out I would have to reformat it to portrait – it drove me crazy trying to recompose all of those elements (Elvises), and took longer than the original drawing. The greeting card company got a cease-and-desist from the Elvis estate, but fought back, reached a compromise, and the card stayed in print for about 10 years. I only have the inks, but the printed greeting-card was in color. I thought about re-colorizing it, but my style's changed a lot over the years... maybe it's time to just redraw this one.

Have a Hunka Burnin' Holiday!

15. Napoleon Dynamite

The Napoleon Dino-Mite: Common during the Jurassic period – these pesky critters were known to infest, and consume the tasty rear-brain meat of the mighty Stegosaurus. Sadly, this steady diet of rear-brain meat ultimately led to an outbreak of Mad-Stegosaurus Disease, and the eventual extinction of the Napoleon Dino-Mite.

19. Independence Day

No more counting to 20 for this guy... oh well, 15 is still a pretty big number.

A rough sketch for a Fourth of July cartoon I did about 10 years ago... I decided to redo it in color. Here's a link to the finished piece if you wanna check it out:

A midnight raid, in farmer McGregor's genetically-altered carrot patch, goes horribly wrong for Stumpy the Bad Luck Bunny! Things just haven't been the same since he lost his lucky rabbit's foot.

23. Dandelion Tamer

Where are the wild things? My backyard that's where... wild dandelions, that is. I've had a BIG dandelion problem this spring, and nothing seems to tame these beasts. I've tried weed killers, lopping off their heads, and pulling them out by the roots, but they just keep coming back. It's a jungle back there... just ask rover.

25. Kung Pao Panda

Mmmmm tastes like chicken!

Here's a fake movie poster I did last summer. Since about half of my portfolio would fall into the "Yecchh!" category I decided to slack this week, and just pull something out of the vault.
