This is just getting impossible. If I keep hitting crazy milestones, what will I have to look forward to? Last year, I had 3 authors on the New York Times bestseller list at the same time.

Then it happened twice in one year. Fabulous. Where to go next?

How about 4 authors on the NYT list at the same time? And 3 of them on the top 150 USA Today Bestseller list at the same time as well.

Yep! That’s the news that hit my inbox about an hour ago. And here they are.

At #19 on the Trade Paperback list and #146 on USA Today

At #9 on the Children's list

At #11 on the Mass Market paperback list and #109 on USA Today

USA Today rounds up the latest witchy novels, including Overlook's DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL, by Frances Hill (March). Go here to see them all!

USA Today released its “Top 100 Books for 2010″ list this week, a bestseller list composed of 77 percent fiction. Stieg Larsson‘s Millennium series dominated the top three spots and George W. Bush‘s Decision Points occupied fourth place.

The newspaper also noted: “Stephenie Meyer‘s popularity began to cool off. She accounted for 4% of best sellers the list tracked, down from 11% in 2009. The vampire and paranormal craze among readers isn’t dead, but it’s fading, accounting for just 9% of best sellers, down from 17% in 2009.”

The article also noted that books with movie adaptations do particularly well. It’ll be interesting to see if adaptations (like Kathryn Stockett‘s The Help) will boost sales next year.

I've had my Kindle for a couple of months now and while it has some limitations, I like it. Mostly, I like reading USA Today and some blogs on the Kindle. I have a book or two and while some have been practical to read on the kindle, others have been more of a struggle.

One book that I'm on the fence about is "The Healthy Kitchen" by Andrew Weil and Rosie Dailey. I like being able to read it on the Kindle but at the same time, this is a book that would be nice to have in hardcopy. Could be I'll change my mind down the road as I become more adept at using the Kindle - only time will tell.

I'm definitely a fan of reading USA Today on my Kindle and even though it's not in color, I'm able to scan and read the paper and then zero in on those select articles when I get a chance on my regular computer and print to pdf if I want to preserve them for research or just plain morbid fascination. Sure beats cutting out articles from the actual paper and then trying to capture them electronically.

I just wish that the electronic version of books was more reasonable. The price points seem curious given that electronic delivery should be much more cost-effective than the actual book. It probably is but the savings aren't necessarily being passed onto the reader.

It will be interesting to see where we are at in 5, even 10 years on the issue of price.

I also purchased a netbook and so far so good. The keyboard takes a little getting use to but I like how compact it is, especially since I commute by train.

I am officially a New York Times Bestselling author! The Heir series appears on the August 31 New York Times Children’s Series Bestsellers List.

I’m keeping some fast company!! I’m sort of rubbing shoulders with Harry Potter (who, of course, has been on the list for 196 weeks! That’s—um—almost five years.)

The Dragon Heir also appears on the USA Today Bestseller list (all books) for the week ending 8/17/08, its debut week. That’s #150 out of 150, but, hey, somebody has to be last. And it’s better than #151.

And, finally, The Dragon Heir is also #15 on the Indie Bestseller Children’s list for Children’s Books for August 17.

It may be for just one week, but I'm lovin' it.

USA Today is celebrating its 25th year with 25 lists of 25. This week's list is 25 Lives of Indelible Impact. I might have sorted the list in a different order, but these are all amazing and inspiring people from the last 25 years.

Last week was 25 Years of 'Eureka' Moments -- inventions that have changed our lives since 1982. As I scanned this list, some were integral to my life, and some seemed irrelevant. I wondered what my 5th graders would make of the list, how they would sort it (important vs. irrelevant), and if they would notice anything missing.

Predictably, things like debit cards, lettuce in a bag, and online stock trading aren't a very big deal for 11 year-olds. You want to know they think is missing from the list? (Cable TV was also on their list of missing items, but I just Googled it -- 1948, if you can believe that!)

• energy drinks
• hybrid cars
• Google and Wikipedia

Earlier this week, I was blogging about how few book review outlets there are for YAs. Every now and then, USA Today will publish a round-up of books, like a bunch of mysteries or cookbooks. This week, it's a bunch of young adult novels.

I want to check out Harmless because it sounds like a plot I've been thinking of. And if it's similar, thank God it never got out of the thinking stage.
