3. Sweet November (Favorite Movie Moment)

Welcome to Saturday's Favorite Movie Moment. Actually, I've posted this movie before, but I'm hoping you will not remember and if you do remember, I hope you will enjoy it again. It's in honor of my dear friend Dawn from Twisted Sister who posted Enya's video of Only Time, for me during my absence. Can you believe she did that?

Not only did she write a post for me, she made a "Get Well Annie" banner. I was deeply touched and blown away by the bloggers who posted it on their blogs.
For example, another cherished friend, Sandee, at Comedy Plus and Bud at WTIT The Blog (Tape Radio)who made his own version. I would also like to thank Ferd from Crazy Medical Cases for posting Dawn's banner and the great comments. The banners were excellent prescriptions and I will not forget them. All of you have been wonderful, and I'm working on a surprise post for you. I have so many of you to thank for your support. Your laughter keep me in stitches along with your comments; you've secured a place in my heart forever.

Thanks for hanging in here with me.

Moving on, this movie clip includes all of my favorite moments in the movie Sweet November, and it's accompanied by one of my favorite songs, Only Time from Enya. Sweet November, stars Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves, and an array of great looking dogs.

An excellent film, Sweet November reminds us to stop and remember the gift of life. Keanu Reeves character discovers through the lead character (Theron) the true meaning of friendship and our God given potential to give compassion, experience joy, and understand love.

There are no words or seconds to waste while we're alive and yet we waste so many, hence this movie reminds us to make every moment count.

Soak up every laugh, smile, glance...from the ones you love and others, and give every part of yourself possible. Because what we give to the world and others will remain a part life itself always...

Live for and in every dance, hug, song, and person...with an imaginable mind and open heart.

Have a fun week-end, and don't forget about my surprise, o.k.?

4. The Graduate- This Week-end's Favorite Movie Moment

Each week I post Saturday's Favorite Movie Moment, however I'm a day late this week, therefore, I entitled today's post This Week-ends Favorite Movie Moment- My apologizes to anyone who may have stopped yesterday expecting my usual Saturday post.

Although, I did not forget, hence, this week-ends Favorite Movie Moment is a famous scene from The Graduate, starring Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman and directed by one of my favorite directors, Mike Nichols. Mike Nichols won an Oscar for Best Director of the film in 1967 and both Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman were nominated as Best Actor/Actress in a leading role.

Have a super dooper Sunday everyone~

5. Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron in Sweet November: Saturday's Favorite Movie Moment

The songs is Enya-Only time

This Saturday's favorite movie moment is actually a bunch of movie moments from Sweet November accompanied by the song Only Time from Enya. Sweet November, stars Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves in addition to an array of some great looking dogs.

An excellent film, Sweet November reminds us to stop and remember what a true gift life is...Keanu Reeves character discovers through the lead character (Theron) the true meaning of friendship and our God given potential to give compassion and love to each other, animals, and even wayward strangers...

There are no words or seconds to waste while we're here on earth, and yet we waste a lot of them, hence this movie reminds us to make all of our moments count...

Soak up every laugh, smile, glance...from the ones you love and others, and give every part of yourself to everything possible. Because what you give to the world and others will remain a part life itself, like the soil that nurtures the trees and the soul that planted the seed.

Live for and in every dance, hug, song, and person...with the imaginable mind and open heart of a child.

I will run on my beach until I reach the end of the shoreline; and then I will wait and see what God will ask of me next...

That's my plan, except I believe I'll take a Golden Retriever with me, and Simon of course.

However, until that time, I refuse to take myself seriously...and that is the one thing I loved about this movie and the main character, if you haven't seen it, rent it-

This movie reviewer believes this movie is equivalent to the following: Three scoops(thats the most scoops suggested, so that's a lot) of peanut butter swirl, a dance on the beach, a huge summer hat, and a copy of Confederacy Of Dunces. by, John Kennedy Toole/with a foreword by Walker Percy. I think that's the most I've given a movie so far...hmmm

Make a splash out of your day~

6. This Week-end's Favorite Movie Moment

I was running late posting Saturday's Favorite Movie Moment, so I decided to change the posts title to This Week-ends Favorite Movie Moment. Because one of the greatest advantages a woman has is the prerogative to change her mind.

In addition, I've decided to familiarize myself with "Towanda's" attitude, much like Evelyn Couch, (Kathy Bates) did a fine job of accomplishing in this scene from Fried Green Tomatoes.

Fried Green Tomatoes stars Jessica Tandy, Kathy Bates, Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary Louise Parker, and Chris O'Donnell.

In this week-ends favorite movie moment Evelyn Couch (Kathy) becomes her "new independent self" Towanda with a little help from her new hormone pills. I'm not sure if I'm hormone ready, but I have a feeling these pills will come in handy someday.

If you haven't seen Fried Green Tomatoes, it's time to rent it, because this movie has it all- it's a terrific film.

Enjoy and have a great week-end.

7. Truth in Fiction

Not all spiritual books for kids are obviously so at first glance. Fiction may help children deal with spiritual questions even better when there is not direct spiritual content. A librarian friend offers three of her multicultural favorites for older kids. Crash, by Jerry Spinelli, documents the growing friendship between a Quaker boy and an agnostic jock. Samir and Yonatan by Daniella Carmi, is a Batchelder Award-winning memoir of a Palestinian childhood. In Iqbal, by Francesco D’Adamo, a fictionalized account of a Pakistani boy sold into slavery, children develop spirituality without any wholesome adult influence. (At PaperTigers, see a review of Susan Kuklan’s Iqbal Masih and the Crusaders Against Child Slavery, a non-fiction account of this tragic but inspiring story.)

Two recent Australian animal picture books are among the many endearing examples of spiritual books for young children. Breakfast with Buddha, by Vashti Farrer and Gaye Chapman, is a first-person account of an ego-filled cat’s encounter with Buddhist monks and his consequent lesson about humility. Samsara Dog, by Helen Manos, beautifully relates the story of a dog’s several lives as he develops the spiritual qualities that finally free him from the cycle of rebirth.

And a Buddhist nun friend from Taiwan highly recommends Kate Decamillo’s The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. “I read it six times,” she said with a smile, “and cried every single time.”

The deep themes of human life are everywhere, for eyes that see. Non-didactic fiction gives children a way to explore large spiritual questions without being “spoon-fed” opinions and views.
