1. wild and crazy pins

I had so much fun making these!
Read more here.

The base is knitted, then the rest is just ad libbed.
I wish I could do all my work this way.

2. Pins and needles

This is what I made yesterday. Pins! I'm crazy about tapestry fabric, and had an idea for doing little things to wear as accents. All three of these are from the same fabric, but embellished in different ways. What I love about doing these is not knowing where they're going...I just start with a bit of fabric, and have fun.

This first one has some metallic threaded yarn "couched" onto it in a freeform pattern, then a button sewn on, then some looped fringe added.

This one has a small piece knitted with eyelash yarn sewn on, then a button on top of that.

And this one has nice long fringe, a pretty button and some metallic yarn as well.

I also made some fun earrings. And a big mess on my crafting table! All those little bits of thread and yarn are now migrating their way around the house.

Now I just have to figure out how to photograph all these better so I can put them up on Etsy. My goal is to have enough pieces to start a little Shoppe, in the next couple of weeks.
But first I have to go make a nice pot of minestrone with all the yummy ingredients I bought yesterday. It is Fall, after all!!!

3. BirdyBear Pins

Here's a sneak peak at my new BirdyBear Pin collection which will be up for sale for the first time at the Down town Edmonton Farmers market (104th and Jasper ave) this Saturday from 9am to 3pm. After this I will upload some of them (those left over) to my etsy page. They are handmade: woodburnt, original drawings which are painted in high grade acrylics then varnished. The pin is gold on the back. A couple of the pins are adorned by a gemstone which is inset in the wood. Too see all the pictures I've posted and probably lots you haven't seen from other projects I've worked on click on the title of this post (it'll take you to my flickr page).

Cheers!
