It is a delightful and entertaining story that begins when John Michael Mouse, his family and friends decide to take a trip through the forest to visit Freda Fieldmouse's sister who lives with her family underneath a church in Wildwood Village where the humans live. It is a story that is filled with excitement and humor, danger and positive life lessons. There are close calls including one when the tiny travellers encounter some evil coyotes who would like nothing better than to have them for lunch. There are funny things, such as when Millie takes over and rescues them from a very unlikeable sewer rat named Barf Bag. Then there are encounters with humans which turn out to be very special and very rewarding. All in all, they have quite an adventure and have a very unforgettable time while learning the great value of true friends.
