From the supplier: A classroom comedian tried to hide his feelings of inferiority concerning academic skills by performing attention-getting funny acts and by contributing unorthodox replies to questions. However, when he was given a chance to be the legitimate center of attention in a class play, the hidden inferiorities emerged. During rehearsals, his usually smooth comic performances were blocked. Fortunately, during the actual stage performance, the student's natural comic character resurfaced. The successful performance gave the student a confidence boost which also reflected in his academics.
