***FOLIO SOCIETY COLLECTOR'S 23-VOLUME SET OF "THE TALES OF BEATRIX POTTER"*** GREAT DEAL for a FABULOUS, OUT-OF-PRINT set of books in EXCELLENT condition! 2002 First Folio Society Edition 23-volume set of hardcovers, with reset text & new reproductions of Beatrix Potter's illustrations by Frederick Warne & Co. (the owner of the rights, copyrights & trademarks in the Beatrix Potter character names & illustrations). No dust jackets, as issued. Books come in the original two dark blue illustrated slip cases, 11 books in one and 12 books in the other. Slip cases are in PERFECT condition, sturdy & completely intact with no wear or fading. Each book measures 5.6 x 4.3 x 0.3 inches. Book covers are PRISTINE, with FULL CLOTH boards in a wide variety of bright colors & with decorative gold gilt lettering on the spines. Each book has a darling illustration on the front cover, in full color, surrounded by a border of 22-kt genuine gold. Lettering on the front covers is also stamped in pure gold. Binding is tight in all 23 volumes. All pages clean & undamaged; the pages of each book are SEWN IN (not glued), & the text was printed on a pure white archival quality paper, specially made for these books, acid-neutral for permanence & durability to last generations without discoloring. No marks, underlining, notes, highlighting, bookplates, or any other signs of previous ownership. This is a precious, one-of-a-kind set of books, as sturdy & well-constructed as they are beautiful, & would be an AMAZING way to introduce the magical world of books & reading to a small child!
