Hardly anyone thinks they really exist. A kandra researcher has returned to Elendel with images that seem to depict the Bands, as well as writings in a language that no one can read. HarperTeen has unveiled the book trailer for The Siren by Kiera Cass. The video embedded above stars the protagonist Kahlen.

According to Epic Reads, Jack Paccione Jr. composed an original song called “Into the Waves” for this trailer. Follow this link to listen to the full track.

Originally, Cass had self-published this book. The new edition of this young adult novel will be released on Jan. 26.

The cover has been revealed for Kiera Cass’ forthcoming young adult novel, The Crown. This book will serve as the the fifth and final installment of The Selection series.

This month's best selling kids series from The Children's Book Review's affiliate store remains the same, it's the wonderfully educational series The Adventures of Riley.

Warner Bros. has picked up the film rights to Kiera Cass’ young adult book, The Selection.

Katie Lovejoy has been hired to serve as the screenwriter. Denise DiNovi, Alison Greenspan, and Pouya Shahbazian have signed on to serve as producers.

Here’s more from Deadline: “Described as The Hunger Games without the bloodshed, it follows 35 underprivileged girls who are chosen to compete to live in a life of luxury. The protagonist, America Singer, is sweet on a young man from her district, but when she’s exposed to the opulence of a royal life, she’s conflicted, even though a rebel uprising threatens the pampered.”

In the past, the CW had held the TV rights to The Selection and even shot two pilots for it. Ultimately, the studio decided not to move forward with a full season.

Originally, Cass had intended her Selection novels to be a trilogy. Last year, she announced her plans to expand it into a five-part series with two additional installments and a collection of novellas.

HarperCollins Children’s Books will re-issue Kiera Cass’ self-published young adult novel, The Siren. The publisher will release the book with a new cover and bonus material in Winter 2016.

According to Cass’ blog post, this allows her “to go back through with my editor and make it the story I always hoped it could be. It will sparkle in ways I couldn’t make it on my own, and that makes me crazy happy!” The book follows This story follows a young girl named Kahlen and her communion with the ocean.

When we last chatted with Kiera Cass, she did not breathe one word on the details of her future projects. Cass (pictured, via) recently announced that she has an additional novella and two full-length fiction books, all of which are set in The Selection universe, in-the-works. Follow this link to hear Cass’ video announcement.

Both of Cass’ forthcoming novellas, The Queen and The Favorite, will initially be published as eBooks. HarperTeen will then release a paperback print book in early 2015 with both of these stories and extra content. According to Cass’ blog post, book one, entitled The Heir, will come out in summer 2015. A new character will serve as the narrator for this novel as well as the follow-up.

Kiera Cass has concluded The Selection trilogy with the final installment, The One. Two days after the release, Cass revealed on her website that she will be working on a prequel Selection project. The Queen novella follows Prince Maxon's mother, Amberly, as she competes in her own 'Selection' contest. HarperTeen Impulse has not announced a publication date. In the past, Cass has written two Selection novellas: The Prince and The Guard. Earlier this year, the publisher released a print book called The Selection Stories which contains both novellas and a 3-chapter excerpt from The One.

We sat down with Cass to discuss the differences between self-publishing and working with a traditional publisher, writing, and more. Check out the highlights from our interview below…

Q: How does self-publishing differ from working with a traditional publishing house?
A: Self-publishing and traditional publishing differ in three main ways: control, timing, and (to an extent) effort. In traditional publishing, all I can really control are the words on the paper, and sometimes, even those have to be changed. It also takes years to make a book happen. In self-publishing, your cover, your story, and the general vibe around your book is completely yours. And, if you happen to be writing something time sensitive, a book can be produced in months, maybe even less if you choose to do e-book only.

I have an ARC of The Elite up for grabs. I wanted to put this post up yesterday but alas, my laptop decided to do updates and then my battery went dead.

Thirty-five girls came to the palace to compete in the Selection. All but six have been sent home. And only one will get to marry Prince Maxon and be crowned princess of Illea.
America still isn’t sure where her heart lies. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.
Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.
