Super light week this week, what with the holidays. But there are still a few MMGMs floating around the blogosphere. So here are the links:
- A Bookshelf Monstrosity is talking about BLEED, BLISTER, PUKE, AND PURGE: THE DIRTY SECRETS BEHIND EARLY AMERICAN MEDICINE. Click HERE to see what they thought.
- Renell Aysling is sharing a list of books that made her love reading as a kid. Click HERE to check it out!
- Carl at Boys Rule Boys Read! has some special messages for everyone during these holiday weeks. Click HERE to read them.
- Justin Talks Books is highlighting DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: DOUBLE DOWN! Click HERE to see what he thought
- Greg Pattridge wants everyone to CLICK HERE TO START. Click HERE to read his review.
- The Mundie Moms are always huge supporters of middle grade. Click HERE for their Mundie Kids site.
- Shannon O'Donnell is back--and planning a weekly MMGM again. Click HERE to see what she's talking about this week.
- Karen Yingling also always has some awesome MMGM recommendations for you. Click HERE to which ones she picked this time.
- Joanne Fritz always has an MMGM for you. Click HERE to see what she's talking about this week
If you would like to join in the MMGM fun, all you have to do is blog about a middle grade book you love on a Monday (contests, author interviews and whatnot also count--but are most definitely not required) and email me the title of the book you're featuring and a link to your blog at SWMessenger (at) hotmail (dot) com. (Make sure you put MMGM or Marvelous Middle Grade Monday in the subject line so it gets sorted accurately--and please don't forget to say what book you're featuring) You MUST email me your link by Sunday evening in order to be included in the list of links for the coming Monday. (usually before 11pm PST is safe--but if I'm traveling it can vary. When in doubt, send early!) (Also make sure the post you send me is a new post, not one from earlier in the week. I try to keep the content fresh)
If you miss the cutoff, you are welcome to add your link in the comments on this post so people can find you, but I will not have time to update the post. Same goes for typos/errors on my part. I do my best to build the links correctly, but sometimes deadline-brain gets the best of me, and I'm sorry if it does. For those wondering why I don't use a Linky-widget instead, it's a simple matter of internet safety. The only way I can ensure that all the links lead to safe, appropriate places for someone of any age is if I build them myself. It's not a perfect system, but it allows me to keep better control.
Thank you so much for being a part of this awesome meme, and spreading the middle grade love!
*Please note: these posts are not a reflection of my own opinions on the books featured. Each blogger is responsible for their own MMGM content and I do not pre-screen reviews ahead of time, nor do I control what books they choose. I simply assemble the list based on the links that are emailed to me.
Still deep in the deadline cave--and I'll be here for a while. I owe two books between now and March, so PREPARE FOR PANICKING.

Thank you everyone for bearing with the chaos around here these last few weeks--I wish I could say life was calming down, but I'm really just switching from one overloaded schedule to another. I'm done with LODESTAR events for the year, but it's time to lock myself away in the deadline cave and make up for all the time I lost writing book 6. So if these posts are brief, or I miss a week, that's why. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Two weeks of touring down--one week to go! And since I'm currently in TX--and have to be up at the crack of dawn in order to make it to my morning school visit--I'm putting the links together much earlier than normal. Which may mean some of you who send your links late get missed this week. Sorry--things will hopefully be back to normal soon.
In the meantime, thank you for your patience, and for supporting me on tour (still several events to go--check my events page HERE to see if one of them is near you), and--more than anything else--thank you for this:
In case you don't recognize what you're looking at, that is the New York Times Bestselling SERIES list (!!!! a.k.a. "the uncrackable list.") And that is KEEPER sitting pretty at #6, with all the cool kids.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
And as if that weren't amazing enough, you also made LODESTAR debut at #92 on the USA Today Bestseller's list (top 100, baby!).
I don't know if you realize how incredible those things are, but they are HUGE. I'm still in shock. And YOU GUYS made it happen. Thank you for buying LODESTAR and spreading the word about the KEEPER series. You have officially made me look *much* cooler than I probably deserve.
*tacklehugs you all*
Also--final reminder--if you missed the pre-order giveaway, there's still a few days left to get the swaggish goodies. The special arrangement I made with Changing Hands for you to get a slightly cooler swag pack along with a signed (and personalized if you want it) copy of LODESTAR doesn't end until 11/16. Go
HERE to take advantage.

HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT THE BOOK OR READ THE BOOK OR TALKED ABOUT THE BOOK OR CAME TO ANY OF MY EVENTS TO HEAR ME RAMBLE AWKWARDLY ABOUT THE BOOK!!!!!
I'm definitely not done touring--I still have TONS of events coming up this month, so make sure you check my events page HERE to make sure you don't miss out.
Also, TREMENDOUS thanks for being respectful about spoilers. My tour/travel days have been so insanely over-scheduled that I haven't had a chance to check any of the comments you guys are posting, so please keep on making sure my social media feeds--and this website--stay spoiler free.

I seriously don't know how we are now ONE WEEK away from LODESTAR. But it's happening. And my To Do list is officially EXPLODING.
So as a quick reminder, again--I'll do my best to keep up with MMGM over the next few weeks, but it's always tricky when I'm traveling (sometimes internet is spotty--or my itinerary is so crammed I don't have a moment to breathe, much less assemble links). So bear with me if it's a little bumpy around here. (And once again, if you haven't checked my events page to see if I'm coming to see you, go HERE)
Also, this is the final week to take advantage of the LODESTAR Pre-Order giveaway so make sure you don't miss your chance. For details, and the form you'll need to fill out in order to get your swag, go HERE.

I'm putting this week's links together on Nashville time (to anyone who came to see me at the Southern Festival of Books--THANK YOU SO MUCH!) And I have a super early flight home, so I'm going to bed early. So if you're one of the people who usually sends your link late, I may miss you this week. Sorry!
(and as a warning, I'll do my best to keep up with MMGM over the next few weeks, but I also have ALL THE TOUR TRAVEL starting 11/1, so bear with me if things get a little hairy. And if you haven't checked my events page to see if I'm coming to see you, go HERE)

Before I get to this week's MMGM link, I just wanted to say a quick sorry if anyone tried to catch me at the OC Kids' Book Festival yesterday.
I was there for my 1:00 signing and got to chat with some of you, but I know I also said I'd be speaking on the Tween stage at 3:20--and I thought I was. But when I got to the stage, it listed someone else in my timeslot. And I spent the next hour getting led around to different stages by different volunteers and none of them were right and no one seemed to know where I should be. So, long story short, if you were looking for me and couldn't find me, it wasn't for lack of trying. And hopefully we can meet at one of my upcoming SoCal events.

So wow. It's September. And you know what that means.
I'm going to start panicking about how many deadlines and things I'm falling behind on!
Wait--no. I mean...okay, that probably will happen. But I was referring to something you'll enjoy a whole lot more!
Now that we've reached the "less than two months until LODESTAR" time period (AHHH!), we're officially in the FUN THINGS ARE HAPPENING zone. I know you're waiting for the pre-order giveaway and my list of tour dates--I probably won't have those until October. But starting tomorrow I'll be sharing fun things on my social media. This month I'll be revealing eight new, full color character portraits (one every Tue, and one every Fri) so if you're not following me on Instagram or Twitter, you might wanna get on that! (I'm @SW_Messenger on both) And in October I'll have LODESTAR teasers. Rumor has it the first chapter will also be posted somewhere online at some point.
SO. Basically, GET READY FOR ALL THE AWESOMENESS.
