2. can't find myself in my drawings

i keep looking at myself in the mirror, but I can't completely find me in my drawings... hahaha.

the thing is that there are always some details i miss while drawing that i realize after i finished it, eyes too close or separated, bigger/smaller eyebrows, slant mouth, smaller nose, hahahaha. i'll keep on looking till i can get it right. maybe that's what's really interesting about art, if we could do exactly what we plan or want, maybe it wouldn't be so wonderfully exciting as art is!

The funniest about this drawing i did today is that it looks better (more similar) when it's bigger, which is the contrary as they always look better when I see them smaller on the pc screen.

6. etching

first I made the portrait with red gouache and sugar on to the metal, then covered it with hard base then washed the gouache, then the acid. Though I had to retouch some parts where the hard base had washed off

11. drawing class

drawing class Originally uploaded by dibujandoarte
one of the drawings i did today.... the paper is about 80x110cm, i'm starting to like drawing in big formats, though for a "real" drawing i would need more time. this one took me about 2 hours and it's not complete, i'd call it just a big sketch, he.

14. National Health Care Shouldn’t Be National: Amending ERISA to Encourage States’ Experimentation

medical-mondays.jpg

Edward A. Zelinsky is the Morris and Annie Trachman Professor of Law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University. He is the author of The Origins of Ownership Society: How the Defined Contribution Paradigm Changed America which looks at how defined contributions (IRAs, 401(k) accounts, 529 programs, FSAs, HRAs, HSAs…) have transformed tax and social policy in fundamental ways. In the article below Zelinksy turns his sight towards health care reform.

The financing of medicine has emerged as the central domestic issue of the 2008 presidential campaign. Hovering over this debate is the memory of the failed health care initiative spearheaded by the then First Lady in 1993. Senator Clinton’s supporters suggest that Senator Clinton has learned from that earlier, unsuccessful experience. Her opponents contend otherwise. (more…)
