From Jo Knowles on the JoNoWriMo Livejournal community site:
Inspired by NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), JoNoWriMo+1.5 is similar, but allows writers 2.5 months to complete a project(s) of their choice. On September 16, participants will state their goals, and then for the next 2.5 months we will work on those goals together. Our challenge ends on midnight, December 1.
On official check-in days, I will make a post to the group and ask everyone who has signed up to leave comments and report their progress so far. These dates are:
October 14
November 11
November 25
December 1—OUR FINAL CHECK IN! PARTY!!!!! :-)
On these days, we ask that no one else make an individual post so that the check-in post is easy to find. PLEASE REMEMBER: This community is set up for members to post their questions, ask for encouragement, share their progress, and cheer on others. We are here as a supportive community only. This is not a competition in any way.

Well, today was the final check in day for my JoNoWriMo+1.5 Writing Challenge.
How did I do?
Pretty good!
I finished the non-fiction PB proposal, had it critiqued by friends and sent it out to three editors. Then I revised my MG sci-fi plot and wrote ten new chapters, which is more or less halfway. Not quite as far as I'd hoped to be, but I'm pretty pleased with it.
A big shout out to Jo Knowles for organizing this once again. It never fails to give me the kick in the butt I need to start my writing season!
I've been pacing the floor, wracking my brain, trying to pin down my winter project.
Nothing is jumping up and down yelling, "me next, me next!'
I have a major rewrite I could do. I was told the first half of it was a page turner, but the middle/endish part needed an overhaul. It's all printed out, in a binder, guarded by my revision highlighters.
But the thought of starting something brand new would be kind of cool too. I have three different ideas percolating, but none is developed in any way - just quick flashes of scenes in my head . . .
I'm just so wishy washy!!
Sigh.
JoNoWriMo+1.5 starts Wednesday. I really should try to figure it out by then!
B and I were quite busy over the weekend
He has a party at our place this coming Friday night. It involves six of his closest friends, a campfire, roasted hot dogs, s'mores and the game of man hunt!
I managed to finish my non-fiction proposal. Yay! A big shout out to Loree and Anna who helped shape my proposal and gave lots of encouragement. It'll go out tomorrow after one last read through. Then I'm on to the third challenge of my JoNoWriMo goal. I don't think I'll be able to finish that one, but at least I'll get a good head start on it!
I'm off on a quick mission this morning . . . have to run!
jonowrimo 2008 continues to keep me on track with revisions and writing (although I can't say the same for critiquing. I'm a bit behind schedule there, but luckily, my friends are patient with me. Plus, I think they want me to finish and submit something already!
While briefly *ahem* stopping by Facebook, I happened upon my friend Dianne's "status," (which for those of you who aren't "Facebook-friendly" is just a little one-liner that tells people what you're doing or thinking at any given moment when you choose to update said status). In it was a link to her daughter Eliana's cooking blog. Eliana is eight-years-old, and from what I can see, she's quite the chef already. This shouldn't come as any shock, since as anyone who knows Dianne de Las Casas knows that creativity and passionate hobbies run in that family.
Anyway if you're a cook (which I most definitely am NOT), you should totally check out some of Eliana's recipes! I mean, check out the presentation here!
Combine that with this pudem:
And you've got a hit TV cooking show in the making!
jonowrimo starts soon. Are you ready?!
