You are viewing the most recent posts tagged with the words: mammoth in the JacketFlap blog reader. What is a tag? Think of a tag as a keyword or category label. You can view all posts from a specific blog by clicking the Blog name in the right column, or you can click a 'More Posts from this Blog' link in any individual post.
In 2003 Paul Bahn led the team that discovered the first Ice Age cave art at Creswell Crags in Britain. In recent years, many more discoveries have been made including the expanding phenomenon of 'open-air Ice Age art'. In the slideshow below, you can see some of the earliest examples of art on the planet, and take a tour of prehistoric art throughout the world.

Hola amigos!
I've been a long time silent; I apologise. Since my last post in June(ish) I've been happily homeless in a non-serious-honestly-I'm-not-going-to-die way, & mainly doing Epic Shit. At the moment I'm being an au pair in Somerset, but in the next few weeks I'll be moving again, either Devon to live with some donkeys, or to Bath to work in a youth hostel. I'm putting together a project that should pull all my chaos together but for the moment I'm working on illio work as a nomad soul, which is very liberating. Still open for business, just you never know what you'll hear in the background when you give me a call ;D
Here are a few bits & bobs I've been playing with since I left anyway. Being around kids makes drawing them much easier.
Oh, this is Prolombious, I made him with an eight year old & a lot of scrap wool. He's a magical wooly mammoth who happens to be an excellent singer, but trips over his very long trunk a lot. This unfortunately damages his singing ability a little, so we're trying to figure out a better long-term solution for this than just tying a bow in the end of his nose.
:) xxx
Got an unexpected chance to catch up with Mx last night. The last time we saw her we said goodbye after our ski trip after Christmas. She's been on a photo shoot in Mammoth and met us here in Tahoe last night. She went back down to Mammoth early this morning and will be back up here with us tonight in Tahoe. It's beautiful on the lake today. Sunny and clear. Snow-peaked mountains rim bluer-than-blue water. Not quite warm enough to ski in your bikini, but a lot warmer than our trip a few weeks back.
No skiing for me though. I'm in this boot. No idea what I did but I somehow managed to bruise a bone, no break, just a bruise. I either did it in Yoga [lame] or as a dancing jellyfish at Halloween [lamer]. So, I've slowed WAY down. But it's only for three weeks. And it's kind of liberating, even though I stand to gain a few pounds. Today finds me reading through my latest story from cover to cover. Reading in this change of scene helps sharpen my editorial eyes and ears. See my work in new ways.

A visit to the interactive prehistoric tar pits,
a virtual experience coming to your neighborhood later this year.

Dear Linda Sarah, I’m so glad that your searching for stories continues! Every new idea is amusing and poetic, funny and unique! I will need a looooong sheet of paper to write down everything that impresses me!:) What makes me exclaim every time are the new characters , just to name a few: flying mermaids, a male autumn, little Felissia, autumnicorn, the invisible friend… Your drawings attract me like a magnet and I go and have a look at them again and again…
I love your incredible stories! Go ahead in this wonderful world of your imagination!xx
