I have been writing picture books, easy readers, middle grade & young adult novels, nonfiction, and poetry for children for 16 years. My first children's book, WHEN THE COWS GOT LOOSE, illustrated by Ard Hoyt, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2006. It received a starred review from Kirkus and has since gone into a second printing.

My writing has also appeared online at Salon and Literary Mama, in various local publications, and has been read as commentary on public radio. My poetry collection, Divorce Papers, published by Bull Thistle Press was released in 2002.

I currently work as a visiting author with my touring company, Cowabunga for Kids, and completed an exhilarating tour doing 20 library events across the state for summer reading programs. I recently appeared as a guest author at the Massachusetts School Library Association's Author Fest for their annual conference. And this year, I've teamed up with Heifer International to help provide cows and other livestock for families around the world. A portion of my school and library program fee gets donated to Heifer.
