I am very happy today. Because ”Ancient Queendom” won a honorable mention from London Book Festival at Children’s Books Category.
Many thanks to my dear friend and the author of ”Ancient Queendom” , Roya Hendesi.
I think destiny is this, becoming together from two different and the furthest parts of the world to make a sign from the past to future..
Bugün çok mutluyum çünkü Roya Hendesi’nin yazmış ve benim resimlemiş olduğum Ancient Queendom Londra Kitap Festivali’nden çocuk kitapları kategorsinde bir mansiyon ödülü aldı.
İşte kader bu olsa gerek, dünyanın en uzak iki ayrı ucundan bir araya gelip,geçmişten geleceğe bir iz bırakmak..
The Bug Book is my first picture book I made when I was a student at Fine Arts. I’ve loved etching and art printing through this book.

Bu güzel ve heyecanlı masalı Doğan Egmont Yayınevi Usta Kalemlerden Masallarlar dizisinden yayımladı. Çalışma esnasında kendisiyle tanışmış olmaktan dolayı çok mutluyum.
I illustrated Nermin Bezmen’s first children’s book. This amazing and excited story book published into Usta Kalemlerden Masallarlar series by Doğan Egmont Publishing. I am very happy to meet with her when the project was going on.

Horraaay!!
One of my dream had been real!
I had illustrated a fascinating children’s book of fantasy literature, The ANCIENT QUEENDOM. This amazing book’s amazing author is Roya Hendesi who lives in my dream country New Zealand and the publisher is Xlibris Corporation.
This is Roya’s first published book. I am sure that you will read many books from her. Also this is my first international experience which tells the fantastic lands.
Many many thanks to Roya to give me chance to work with her.
And thanks to Xlibris Corporation.

Sizlere hayallerimden birinin gerçekleştiğini söylemekten mutluluk duyuyorum. Fantastik çocuk edebiyatının örnekleri arasına katılan müthiş bir kitabı, The ANCIENT QUEENDOM’ı resimledim. Bu harika kitabın harika yazarı Roya hendesi benim rüyalarımın ülkesi Yeni Zelanda’da yaşıyor. Kitabın yayımcısı ise Xlibris Corporation. Bu kitap Roya’nın basılan ilk kitabı.

The Ancient Quendom Türkiye dışına resimlediğim ilk kitap. Henüz Türkçe çevirisi yok . Ama minik ve cesur kahramanlarımız Saba ve Touran sizleri büyülü bir dünyada heyecan dolu bir maceraya götürmek için sabırsızlanıyorlar. Onları çok bekletmeyin!

How could I had known that the fact is like that when I had insisted I wanted to be an illustrator…:)
Eventually we complated ” the 23th of April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day of Turkey” s first day cover project with Ozan after a exhausting stamp sticking work for 35 first day cover at the central post office. 
How ashamed that we lost two stamps of 2 liras stamp sheet in a 10 meters small area! however we could have exchanged with the same stamps, we lost, instead of the other 5 kurus stamp sheets, we bought. At last we have this lovely first day cover…
I think the stamp design with M.K. Atatürk is a little big, although after postmarks and sticking the stamps I like the whole design.
This illustration is for “23th of April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day of Turkey” s unofficial first day cover. Sketch is drawn by S. Ozan SARI, my husband, and painted on PS4 by me.
