4. The Yawning Tree

At the bottom of the garden on Honeycombe Hill
There's a tree that stands very tall and still
It minds it's own business till the month of May
Then sheds it's blooms for a week and a day.
Now the blooms are so pretty as they land on the grass
But you have to beware if per chance you must pass
As the scent from the blooms wafts past your nose
And softly caresses all of your toes
The tree has a power that lasts until dawn
That can make you want to stretch and yawn
And so my friends of course you see
I speak about the Yawning Tree.

10. What's wrong with me??!!

I'm seriously considering having a full check at our local hosptal! Seriously! I'm getting excited at the prospect of being able to hang out my washing on a sunny/windy day. Smells good when I'm ironing. Doing somersaults that I've finally found a place to store my carrier bags (in an old bread bin that hasn't been used for ages!)Feel soooo smug ! Feel totally elated when the kids are all in, doors locked, and I know I'm going to get a stress/worry free sleep that night. Have finally accepted that I like my shape and that Weight Watchers, Slimming World and all the others are just a pile of money grabbing cons! Find my self laughing out loud at things that used to make me cringe. Guess I know what's really wrong with me? Yup! Getting old! There are so many things that I recall over and over again because they are a part of my life and I find they give me a lift. My sister walking down the road with niece in pram and nephew at her side. Nephew: Where are we going mum? Mum: We're going to meet gran Nephew: Where are we meeting her? Mum: At the Town Hall. Nephew: Where's that? Mum: See the big steeple down there? (points at skyline) Nephew: How's granny going to get up there? Same nephew running through the flower beds at our local park. Mum: Andrew! 11. Cameron's Bogies

Cameron collected bogies.
His mother said he was disgusting.
His grandmother tutted.
His friends thought he was weird, and his father chuckled.

Cameron couldn't remember when he'd begun collecting bogies, though he did have a HUGE collection.

Each night as he lay in bed trying to sleep, Cameron would pick at his nose.
He'd pick and pick and pick and pick and then when he'd managed to catch a bogie, he'd stick it to the bed post.

Sometimes Cameron didn't catch anything at all. Those were the nights that he hated most.

His Aunt Tilly had bought him a sticker album and this was where he kept his collection.
Hard ones, runny ones. sticky ones and green ones.
It was a great night if he caught a black or a red one!!

This is the story of Cameron's bogies and his bogie sticker album............

14. Fairy Twinkletoes

Twinkletoes was a little fairy who lived in Fairy Land.
She could never work out why she'd been named Twinkletoes.
Twinkletoes could sing and laugh. She could do magic and make wishes come true, but Twinkletoes could not dance.
As hard as she tried, she just couldn't make her feet do the right thing!
She tripped and stumbled and bumped into toadstools, and most of the time she fell down.
This made Twinkletoes unhappy. Everytime the fairies were dancing in a ring, Twinkletoes had to sit at the side. Everyone laughed when Twinkletoes tried to dance. It just wasn't fair!

One day, as the other fairies were practising dancing in a ring, Twinkletoes wandered to the wishing well.
The wishing well was next to the Talking Flowers, right at the bottom of the garden.
"Oh how I wish I could dance!" cried Twinkletoes.
The Talking Flowers , who all spoke together at the same time, were very concerned about Twinkltoes.
"Why are you so sad Twinkletoes?" asked the Flowers.
"Well, Im the only fairy in the whole of the garden who can't dance!" cried Twinkletoes.
"Make a wish with the fairydust from the wishing well" chanted the Talking Flowers.
"I can't do that!" said Twinkletoes "Fairy dust is NOT for fairies to make wishes for themselves!"
The Talking Flowers huddled together and whispered to one another about how they could help Twinkletoes.
"We can help you" said the Flowers.
"How can you help?" asked Twinkletoes.
"Come and stand amongst us and we will teach you how to dance"

Twinkletoes could not imagine that the Flowers would be able to teach her, but she was so upset at not being able to dance, she decided to give it a try. As she stood in the middle of the Talking Flowers, the Magical Wind Chimes began to tinkle.
The Talking Flowers swayed from side to side, and back and forth.
They pulled Twinkletoes this way and that, back and forth, until Twinkletoes felt quite dizzy!
The Magical Wind Chimes tinkled faster and faster, until suddenly, hooray! Twinkletoes was dancing to the music!

The Talking Flowers clapped their hands in delight, and the Magical Wind Chimes tinkled merrily with joy.
Twinkletoes laughed and cried at the same time. She was so happy!
She couldn't wait to get back to the fairy ring and show her friends her new found dancing skills.
The Talking Flowers waved goodbye and Twinkletoes hurried back to the fairy ring.
"Amellia! Tamara! Everyone!" Twinkletoes called as she got nearer to the ring. "Watch me!" and she danced round and round in perfect time to the music.
All of Twinkletoes friends were delighted that she could join in the fairy ring and dance with them.
Petunia, the Fairy Godmother, gave Twinkletoes a beautiful pair of silver dancing shoes. They were made from silver spider thread and sparkled as Twinkletoes moved.
"Oh thankyou Petunia!" cried Twinkletoes.
As Twinkletoes tied the laces of her new dancing shoes, she was the happiest little fairy in the land!

15. Barn Dance

Oswald the Owl had organised a barn dance.
He'd asked Mrs Bee and Uncle McBuzz if he could put a poster in the shop window.
Mrs Bee thought a barn dance would be great fun, and so she had nodded in agreement to Oswald's request.

The poster stated clearly :

Barn Dance - Saturday 29th December 2007
All welcome
Please wear neckerchief, cowboy boots, cowboy hats and other suitable attire.
Music begins at 7.00pm
Howdy partners!

Bizzy read the poster with delight. She clapped her hands and ran to tell Fuzzy and the ladybugs.
Yeehah! This was going to be fun!

Word had spread to the surrounding gardens about Oswald's Barn Dance, and soon there were over 100 residents of the gardens on Honeycombe Hill, ready to attend.

The night of the dance arrived and Bizzy was busy getting ready.
She had borrowed a frilly skirt from Mrs Bee and she had a red scarf tied round her neck.
She stamped her feet and clapped her hands as she practised in front of the mirror.

The Barn was full when Bizzy and Fuzzy arrived, and the music was fantastic.
Philip frog and his friends were playing drums, guitar and piano, whilst Buzzy played the accordian.

"Grab your partner by the hand!" Stamp, stamp, stamp......
"Now swing her round and clap your hands!" Stamp, stamp, stamp.

The barn was moving with people swinging and turning and stamping and clapping. Mrs Bee had placed some bales of hay around the barn so that people could sit on them and have a rest.
There was plenty of juice and nibbles and the atmosphere was wonderful!

"Who would have thought that Oswald would come up with something like this?" said Fuzzy.
"I know!!" squealed Bizzy. She grabbed Fuzzy's hand and they began to dance again.
This time it was a line dance, where everyone stood in a line and danced the same moves.
Bizzy had her hands on her hips as she stepped twice to the left, then twice to the right.
Clap clap clappity clap, twirl, stamp, repeat.
"Yeehah!" cried Uncle McBuzz, who had gone extremely red in the face!
He wiped his brow with his handkerchief and spun Mrs Bee round the floor.

Next, Oswald began to sing.
"Jump down, turn around, pick a bale of cotton!"
"Jump down, turn around, pick a bale of hay!"

Everyone danced and clapped as this was a favourite song.
The Ladybugs were dancing in pairs and their clickety heels made a super noise on the floor.

Soon it was almost time to go, and everyone joined hands in a huge circle as they sang "Auld Lang Syne".
Uncle McBuzz had taught them the song which was a Scottish song.

As The Beezles and their friends left the barn, hugging and chatting and saying goodbye, they all agreed the Barn Dance had been a huge success!!

There might even be one next year!!

16. A Christmas Eve Story

Once upon a time, a long time ago, there lived a little baby elf.
Well, he wasn't quite a baby, he was three years old and stood 7 inches tall.

The little elf was very sad.
He had wanted to help Father Christmas with all of the toys and gifts, but his name had not been put forward.
You see, in order that he could work with Santa, his mother had to have put his name on the waiting list.
The only problem was, that this little elf was all alone, he had no mummy or daddy, and so his name had never been added to the list.

The little elf's name was TWINKLY. Just like the stars high in the sky above.
Twinkly wished with all of his heart that Santa could somehow hear his prayers.
He said his prayers  every night before climbing into bed, and he always remembered to say AMEN.
He had a little white suit with red trimming on the cuffs and the lapels.
He also wore a white hat with red trim and a little red feather.
Twinkly sighed and went to sleep.

Santa's workshop was very busy indeed! Tonight was the night that all of the elves and pixies and fairies loaded the toys and gifts onto Santa's sledge.
Snowy was in charge of feeding the reindeer and making sure that their harnesses were fixed tight.
Rudolph was very restless and Snowy patted his head.
"Come on Roody, it's the most special night tonight! Cheer up!"
Rudolph blinked away his tears.
"I had a dream last night about a little elf who had no-one to love him. I dreamt that he came to help us tonight and he was very happy. I just can't put him out of my head".

Snowy rubbed his chin and stopped, deep in thought.
He went to the Grotto where Santa kept his magical mirror and looked into it. Snowy sprinkled some dust on the mirror and said "show me the lonely elf"

Suddenly there he was! Twinkly was in his bed asleep and Snowy nodded his head at the image.
"Oh Santa!" called Snowy.
Santa listened as Snowy told him all about Rudolph's dream, and about the magic mirror.
"Hmm" said Santa.

Santa called upon the wishing fairies and sent them to Twinkly's house.
Boy, was he in for a surprise!
It really was a pity that the boy had no parents, as Santa had checked his big book of names, and Twinkly would make a perfect helper.

Twinkly awoke to the sound of the fairies laughter.
"Who's there!" he cried.
The fairies told Twinkly to hold their hand, and that they would take him to where he had always wanted to go.
Twinkly rubbed his eyes. Was this a dream?

As the fairies led Twinkly through the frosty night sky, he could not believe his eyes!
There it was! Santa's land!
Everything was sparkling and white and Twinkly could hear the other elves and helpers singing and banging and working very hard.
The fairies took Twinkly straight to Santa.

"Hello my boy!" said Santa Claus.
Twinkly smiled and shook Santa's hand.
"I would love for you to help me tonight. Do you think you could do that?"
Twinkly almost cried with joy!
"Oh yes I could easily do that!" he replied.

Sant gave Twinkly a red velvet suit trimmed with white fur, just like his own.
"Only the very special helpers get one of these suits" said Santa.
Twinkly was delighted.
He paraded in front of the mirror, puffing his chest out and grinning like a Cheshire cat. This had to be the best night of his life!

Suddenly, a horn blew loud and clear into the night. Twinkly saw everyone running to Santa's sledge and he joined the crowd.
It was time.
As Twinkly climbed aboard the sledge with three other elves, everyone waved and cheered.
Santa cracked his whip into the air and the reindeer flew high up into the sky.
Rudolph was now very happy as the lonely little elf was helping Santa.
"HO HO HO" called Santa.

When you are hanging up your stocking tonight boys and girls, look out for Twinkly on Santa's sledge!
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

17. Goodwill to All Men

Greetings my friends!
Been so busy lately, but wanted to make the effort and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Life is sometimes not quite what I'd hoped/imagined it would be.
I'm sure that there are many of you who can relate to this, and disappointment, fear, hurt and anxiety can affect our behaviour in so many ways!

As I age, I realise that the things that are important are the little things.
Like a text from my son to let me know he is safe on his night out.
Or for my daughter to have achieved so much in so little time.
My mother to no longer need her walking stick, my father to reminisce about my childhood and so on.
Yep, the best things in life sure are free, so why oh why am I spending a friggin fortune for Christmas???!!!

Have a wonderful time bloggies and All The Best for 2008!

Big fat squeezy hugs

18. Bizzy's Bad Day

Bizzy was having a very bad day
It began, when she got out of bed
She tripped on the rug
And stood on a mug
Then landed quite hard on her head !
bizzy-smaller

Poor Bizzy was dizzy and hurting
As she went for a fresh orange drink
When suddenly... WHACK!
She fell on her back
And banged her head off of the sink!

OUCH! she cried loudly and tried not to cry
Whilst clutching her head and her knee
When Fuzzy arrived
Poor Bizzy just cried
"Oh please go and fetch Mrs Bee!!"

As Fuzzy ran off to tell Mrs Bee
Poor Bizzy sat down on a chair
Her tears hit the floor
As her head was so sore
This was awful! It just wasn't fair!

Mrs Bee soon arrived, with her medicine bag
And gave the sore Bizzy a hug
Some potion of red
That would help her sore head
And some flowers from her friend Ladybug.

Now Bizzy's all better, and out and about
There's something she wanted to say......
Thanks to all of her friends
She was fine in the end
But beware ,YOU could have a bad day!!!!!!

20. Auntie Pamela's Cold

Auntie Pamela could not stop sneezing.
"Ah choooo!"
She coughed and spluttered and went back to bed.
As she snuggled down under the covers, she hoped that someone would call by her house.
Auntie Pamela felt dreadful! She was very hot and also very cold!
The Lush Garden Fairies would be in the garden soon and Auntie Pamela would not be there to greet them! Whatever would she do?

Mrs Bee was busy in her little shop. She knew the Fairies would be calling on the Lush Garden today, and hurried herself along as she wanted to see them.

As Mrs Bee made her way to the Lush Garden, she could hear the excited chattering of the residents there.
The Bath Bombs were making so much noise!

As Mrs Bee entered the garden she could see that the Fairies were there.
"Where is Auntie Pamela?" asked Mrs Bee.
"Oh Mrs Bee!" said  The Comforter Bubble Bar. "We've been waiting here for such a long time and Auntie Pamela is no-where to be seen!".

Mrs Bee told everyone to stay put, and she headed off to Auntie Pamela's little house.
As she knocked on the door, she could hear Auntie sneezing and coughing.
"Who is it?" croaked Auntie.
"It's Mrs Bee! shall I come in?"
"Oh please do!" cried Auntie.

Mrs Bee gave Auntie Pamela a hot lemon drink and filled a fluffy pink water bottle to keep Auntie Pamela warm
"There you go! Now what shall I tell the Fairies?"

Auntie Pamela told Mrs Bee what was required: bubbles, colour, fizz and sparkle.
Mrs Bee hurried back to the garden and gave the Fairies their instructions.

Soon the garden was filled once again with the wonderful natural scent of the Fragrance Fairy, the sparkle and fizz and colour of the other fairies too.
At last everyone was happy!

The Garden Fairies went to visit Auntie Pamela which really cheered her up, and she told them she hoped she'd be better for the following week.

Thank goodness for Mrs Bee!

22. Happy Honeycombe Hill

Today the residents of Honeycombe Hill were up bright and early.
There were the ladybugs from Ladybug Lane, the residents of The Lush Garden, the sheep and the hen from Friendly Farm, and of course The Beezles.

There had been a notice in the Honeycombe Hill Gazette ,to say that all of the residents there had been nominated for the most beautiful and organised gardens.

Honeycombe Hill was becoming more and more talked about in the surrounding villages.
There were many people who wished that they too lived there, in one of the many beautiful gardens.

Mrs Bee was bursting with pride! She was of course the one who organised and arranged things so that everything ran smoothly.
She had visitors most days from Ladybug Lane and The Lush Garden, and there was always someone looking for advice from gardens further down the road.

Today, the Mayor of the town was to visit and present the residents from the gardens adjoining Honeycombe Hill with a trophy.
Uncle McBuzz could hardly contain himself!
He polished his little spectacles and straightened his cap.
He smoothed down his jacket and hummed a little tune.

Meanwhile, Bizzy and Fuzzy had gone to Ladybug Lane to get ready for the event.
There was much chattering and laughter, so many girls in one room!
Bazzil and Zubby and Buzzy were at Mrs Bee's shop.
She'd asked them to come and see her when the were ready.
She wanted to make sure that they looked spik and span.
"There now" said Mrs Bee as she patted Buzzy's hair into place.
Buzzy scowled. He didn't like tidy hair!
Bazzil giggled at Buzzy's scowling face.

Over at Friendly Farm, Doreen the sheep was fussing over everyone!
Henrietta Hen joined Doreen as they went round straightening ties, and fussing over everyone's appearance.

In The Lush Garden, Auntie Pamela was almost having a fit!
Melting Mallow had gone astray and she'd sent the Bubble Bars to look for her.
"Goodness! Look at the time!" Auntie Pamela exclaimed.
"Melting Mallow had better get here soon, else we shall all be late!", and just at that very minute, the Bubble Bars appeared with Melting Mallow.
Mallow blushed and apologised to Auntie Pamela. She'd gone to play with the fairies and had forgotton the time.

As everyone gathered at the centre of Honeycombe Hill, the air was filled with excitement and anticipation.
"Look!!" cried Bizzy as she pointed down the road.
The Mayor was arriving in his very grand carriage.
"Ooh! I'm soooo excited!" squealed Fuzzy.

The Mayor made a speech as the Honeycombe Hill Gazette photographer clicked and flashed his camera.
Everyone clapped and smiled and soon, waved goodbye to the Mayor.

Mrs Bee,Auntie Pamela and the older residents had organised a huge garden party and everyone danced and sang till very late at night!

~Honeycombe Hill truly was a great place to live!

23. The Lush Garden Fairies

Auntie Pamela was very excited today.
This was the day that the  Fairies visited the Lush Garden.
Sparkle Fairy would sprinkle her dust in the garden to make everyone glitter and shine.
The magic dust made everything in the Lush Garden very special indeed!

The Bath Ballistics were especially happy when Sparkle Fairy visited.
She was their special friend!

Fragrant Fairy ,Rainbow Fairy and Fizzy Fairy would be there too, putting perfume, colour and bubbles into the garden.

The little residents of the Lush Garden gathered at the wishing well.
Auntie Pamela had said the fairies would appear at 12 noon.

Everyone chattered and giggled with excitement, when suddenly Wooosh! the fairies appeared right above them.

As the Lush Garden Fairies flew around, glitter and bubbles, perfume and petals fell upon the heads of everyone there.
It was always quite a sight to see as the air was filled with the most natural wonderful ingredients!

All of the residents in the other gardens could smell the wonderful scents of Fragrant Fairy.
They tried to catch the bubbles of the Fizzy Fairy and couldn't wait to see how many petals the wind would blow to their gardens.

Auntie Pamela told the Garden Fairies that she was very pleased with their hard work.
She thanked them for visiting and said she would see them the following week.

Everyone waved goodbye amidst the flurry and Auntie Pamela smiled sweetly to herself.
This day had been very special indeed!

When you see a Lush Garden, you know fairies are presnt..................................

24. Firework Night

Tonight there was going to be a firework display on Honeycombe Hill.
Uncle McBuzz had been busy all day preparing for the big event.
uncle mcbuzz

He had fenced off a part of the garden so that everyone would be safe from the fireworks, but could still see the display.

It was a very frost night, and everyone on Honeycombe Hill had warm mittens and scarfs, woolly hats and wellington boots, and padded jackets to keep them nice and toasty warm.

mrs bee

Mrs Bee had made some hotdogs with onions, pizza, and a spicy chicken curry.
There was hot chocolate, bovril and tea for anyone who wanted a hot drink, and lots of lemonade for the little ones.
Many visitors had come from the other gardens, and soon there was a very big crowd of excited people!

Bizzy and Fuzzy were walking around the garden handing out sparklers to anyone who wanted one. They made sure of course, that there were big people there to supervise, as fireworks and sparklers can be very dangerous.

Soon the garden was full, and Uncle McBuzz lit the first firework.
Whoooosh! The rocket flew into the air and burst in a shower of brightly coloured sparks.
Everyone clapped and cheered. This was so exciting!
Next, some pretty fireworks were lit on the ground. They were so beautiful, and lit up the faces of the crowd standing near.

bazzil-smallerbizzy-smaller
Bazzil had a runny nose and he sniffed and sniffed and sniffed.
Bizzy tutted and handed him her handkerchief.
"Blow your nose Bazzil!" she told him off.
"It's rude to sniff you know!".
Bazzil took the handkerchief and blew hard.
There now! That was much better!

mrs bee

Mrs Bee was handing out mushy peas and hot soup to some visitors from the next garden.
She stamped her feet and rubbed her hands together.
"Goodness! It's such a frosty night, I'll be glad to get home and light the fire!" she exclaimed to Bert the goat.
"Yes indeed!" replied Bert.
uncle mcbuzz

Unlce McBuzz lit one firework after an other, whilst the air filled with smoke and the squeals of the residents on Honeycombe Hill.
The sky changed colour every minute! The fireworks lit the sky in colours of orange, purple, pink and green.
As each firework burst in the sky, there were little showers of fairylights cascading from the air. It looked wonderful!

The grand finale of the display was what Uncle McBuzz had been looking forward to.
He had set several huge rockets in a circle within the fence, and he had some smaller fireworks inside the circle.
Bert had helped Uncle to fix a fuse that went round the circle , so that when he lit the fuse the fireworks would go off one after the other.

Uncle asked everyone to hush, and then he lit the fuse.
Whoooosh! Whooooosh! Whooooosh!
Bang! Bang!
Crack! Crack!

It was amazing! The sky shook and looked almost electrified.
As the last burst of stars fell from the sky, everyone clapped and whistled with glee.
Uncle McBuzz felt very proud that he had done such a good job. Everyone seemed to have had a great time and that was what mattered most.

As the Ladybugs and Little Chicks, Bert the Goat and his family, and all of the visitors left Honeycombe Hill, Mrs Bee squeezed Uncle's arm.
"What a great job you did there" she smiled at him.
Uncle beamed with pride.
Bizzy ran and hugged Uncle's legs.
"Oh Uncle McBuzz we had such fun!" she squealed, and Uncle chuckled as he rubbed her head.

Mrs Bee told the Beezles to go straight home to their little houses and she'd see them all in the morning.

Yes, Firework night had been the best night ever!

25. The Garden of Lush

Mrs Bee had been chatting to Auntie Pamela.
Auntie Pamela lived in the Lush Garden, which was three gardens away from Honeycombe Hill.
She'd asked Mrs Bee if the Beezles would like to come to a Lush Garden party.

Ickle Baby Baff, Fairy Jasmine and Butterfly Ball were all very excited.
They always had fun in their garden, but they'd never had a party!
It would be great if the Bee could come!

Mrs Bee had told Auntie Pamela that she was sure the Beezles would enjoy being in the Lush Garden, and that they would all be there at 6.30pm prompt.

The day of the party arrived and Auntie Pamela was very busy indeed.
She had given all of the Bath Bombs jobs to do and the Bath Melts and Bubble Bars were all very willing to help.
Their garden looked beautiful!
Auntie Pamela had strung some fairy lights around and there was party music playing in the background.
