Not Your Mother's Book Club is a YA literary salon in San Francisco. This is our blog, where we post news, reviews, contests and author interviews.
1. cecilpalooza recap, and a secret, almost revealed!

Cecil Castellucci is my most awesome friend. Sorry all you other suckers!

Also sorry for all you schmo's who were at "graduation" or "graduation rehearsal" or "had finals" or were "watching the game" or "forgot to come" OR WHATEVER. HA! HA ON YOU!

We had the most yummy cupcakes in the world. And sparkly apple cider, and champagne with pomegranate juice. And listened to a reading from my favourite book. And I gave away a bunch of comics and books and CDs. And we had gossip. And then went home, because Cecil had to go to Canada at like 4 am so she couldn't stay out. But still, it was great to see her, though too brief. And of course, the other good friends and teens that came.

Also, as promised, I made the announcement of the August guest. I can't tell you any details, though I can tell you that it's gonna be HUGE and that we are going to have a contest -- 10 NYMBC members will get to have a private lunch with the author before the big event!

Curious?

OK, OK, I'll give you a hint ... her name rhymes with...

"mephanie steyer".

Can you figure it out?
