After a road trip to the wildly successful Silicon Valley Comic Con, it is good to have a local con (even if it means putting up with the dreaded downtown LA traffic) this weekend. So WonderCon has moved for this year from Anaheim, which is in the middle of some heavy renovations and expansions, to downtown Los Angeles. Some will say this is good, others will say it is bad; nonetheless we shall be there ready to go on Friday.
Our booth will be set up in artist alley this year at D-16. We will being trying to cram our ever expanding wares upon a single table, which we may expand to two tables for next year. One of the new items will be 13″x 19″ sizes of some of our more popular prints due to growing interest in the larger sizes. These are printed on high quality paper and will sell for $30 apiece or 3 for $70. Due to limited space we will only have a limited amount of prints in that size available.
More to come next week as we will have a small break before we head up to Seattle for Emerald City Comicon.
A collection of my favorite illustrations of dark fairy tale characters, including Alice in Wonderland, Queen of Hearts, Zombie Girl and more… To order prints, please got to my store now
My illustration 'Lucy meets Mr Beaver' was featured on Redbubble's homepage today! My second illustration to receive the RedBubble homepage curator tick of worthiness!
And pictured above are some amazing talents I was featured among. I'm truly honoured.

Lucy's puzzled thoughts... Why's this beaver got my handkerchief? Where's Mr Tumnus? How'd the beaver know my name? And... since when did beavers talk?!
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is one of my favourite children's books. I've been dying to illustrate a scene from it, starring my favourite character Lucy. What a brave little girl she is.
Wonderful scene! Great interaction between characters! Love how the background is somewhat faded, and the central focus much more vivid. And I LOVE the snow flakes!
I love the composition and the colors. I don't know the Narnia stories at all but I don't need to know anything about the characters to love your illustration! :)
I've set up a shop at Society 6 where you can buy my art as various size prints.
I'm also thinking of making some Laptop and iPad skins and iPhone cover designs.

My heart goes out to all the people in Japan. What they are experiencing right now has no words... If you feel like I do and want to help, here is a way you can.
For the entire month of March you can buy any of the prints on my shop (they start at 18$ and up - frame is optional) and I will donate ALL my earnings from that month to the American Red Cross. I won't take a penny, I promise.
If this works, I will most likely extend the period to last longer and I might add new art. For now, you can shop here.
Also, if you live on the US or Canada you can also help by texting these numbers and it will automatically help you donate $10:
Hi, Alicia! It is first time to post a comment. I'm a big fan of your illustration!
I'm a Japanese living in San Francisco. I'm so shocked what happened and what is still happening in Japan... It is very kind of you to donate your earnings for Japan.
I just want to let people know that my local Japanese community, JCCNC, established a fund to help Japanese people. Here is the link. http://www.jcccnc.org/
Husband and wife illustrators. Utterly enchanting and lovely work over at their site www.wronghand.com
I spotted Renata’s work in a recent issue of Today’s Parent which I contributed to and I quickly scrambled to the Googles for more info. Both Renata and Mike have beautiful compelling styles of illustrating; Mike’s is more dynamic and bold, while Renata’s is more soft and subdued, and both are brimming with personality and fun.
Renata has several books under her belt already, and you can buy their prints here. Each has a blog too: here’s Mike’s & here’s Renata’s.
I completely agree with you, they are both amazing artists. Plus Renata's “The Quiet Book” is having quite a huge success, if I don't remember wrong she is n° 2 in the NY Times Bestselling List… :-)

My ex-wife was an engineer who simply failed to understand what I was all about. My current wife is much more forgiving and supportive. But I can't imagine having two illustrators under the same roof. It does however appear that Mike and Renata are both having a great time. Kudos!

i love that there are little broke eggs on the ground…
As I have been ever so busy painting the room that will become my "studio", I haven't had a spare moment to hop over to my blog. Alas ~ I am finished with the painting and will steal this day to relax and do nothing or anything I choose to do.
I had intended to do a bit of work in the garden, but there's a chill in the wind that urges me to stay indoors. Maybe I'll try a new recipe or list a few more prints in my art shop.
Either way, I have a lovely day ahead of me with no actual plans. I am almost giddy, as those types of days are far and few between.

I am having a "Buy One Get One Free" sale in my Etsy Art Shop.
Buy one ACEO print and get another ACEO print of your choice for free. I think purchasing ACEOs are a great way to get to know an artist. They are small (2-1/2" x 3-1/2") and affordable. For those of you who may not know about ACEOs: ACEO is an acronym for "Art Cards, Editions and Originals". They are miniature pieces of art. They must measure 2-1/2" x 3-1/2", which is the size of a standard trading card. They can be any medium, but they must be the correct size to be considered an ACEO. All of my ACEO prints are $6.00 each. I have so many to choose from and lots more to list as time allows. Over the course of the last several years, I have made 209 ACEOs. Here are a few examples:
Amelia's Day in the Sun
Guardian of the Asian Tourists
The Guardian's Home
The Arizona Sunbathers
Two Tickets to Tucson
and....these last two are quite special to me. The happy desert couple that you see depicted are my mom and dad right after they got married. They left Northwest Arkansas to come to the desert of Southern California.
Happy Desert Couple #1
Happy Desert Couple #2
All of these prints along with many more can be found here.
As always, thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog.

So cute! What an adorable little beaver and little girl. Wonderful trees and details, and those big snowflakes look just right!
How much tenderness! I really like the background with the trees, it really makes the idea of depth.
Wonderful scene! Great interaction between characters! Love how the background is somewhat faded, and the central focus much more vivid. And I LOVE the snow flakes!
