I spent a couple of hours in Bristol last week and managed to take a look at some of the shops in Park Street like 'Rise' and 'Guild' and also popped into the Arnolfini Gallery. I mainly visited book and record stores but still managed to find some inspiring prints and patterns. Here are my snaps from the day featuring mainly book covers, some cards and wrap, and a smattering of homewares.

Orla Kiely has done it again and created another wonderful licensing deal for her prints. This is time it is with UK retailer Halfords to produce a series of bicycles, bike accessories, and camping gear. Orla Kiely has given Kerrygold Irish Butter a stylish makeover with some limited edition packaging. Orla Kiely recently released a collaboration with French retailer Monoprix (which I read all about at French blog Earmimi.) And as of 17th September French shoppers have been able see Orla's specially designed products in Monoprix stores. One of the highlights has to be a new baby clothing line which is something I don't believe we have ever seen from Orla before.

There are some lovely new Orla kiely products for children launched this autumn (that are also suitable adults of course). These include colourful bedding and towels featuring birds, boats, flowers, etc. Plus new mugs to add to the existing collection that feature stylised elephants, owls and birds. talking of orla kiely did you know that orla kiely has joined forces with harlequin to produce her wallpaper designs. the collaboration was announced at decorex back in september and means there are now a lot more pattern choice and colourways to choose from. you can see all 14 designs online here at harlequin.

the new orla kiely spring summer 2012 collection has just gone online and there are three striking new bag prints. the first is a shadow stem print which to me is a real return to form using bright colours and glossy oilcloth. the second is a smaller shadow stem print in a stylish 'lichen' colour. the third print is from the more exclusive mainline collection but i hope it will appear elsewhere

orla kiely's new autumn/winter ranges have just launched, and one print in particular caught my eye. 'birdwatch' is a striking graphic bird repeat which i snapped a few pics of recently in heals. as well as on bags and purses the pattern is also available as a raincoat and wool dress. orla's signature stem print also gets an autumnal treatment for AW 2011.

orla kiely has just released a new digital radio design. the evoke radio by pure was previously available in the bright multi stem design but the new abacus flower in subtle slate grey is a welcome addition. more details online here.

last week i attended the heals press show where they were showcasing their autumn and christmas offerings. i'll be reporting more on this throughout the week, but i wanted to begin with an orla kiely scoop and get our first look at her two forthcoming childrens books. heals and orla kiely have always had a special releationship so it was no suprise that they will be stocking lots of her products

at the heals press show last week i was drawn like a magpie to the orla kiely section. it featured gorgeous bedlinen in autumnal gold and fashionable blue as well as a selection of gifts such as stationery and candles. here are my snapshots and you'll find lots more from orla at heals online here.

i also noticed this weekend that waterstones are now stocking orla kiely's stationery in all of their stores, and at reasonable prices. they're also stocking lotta jansdotter and liberty alongside the exisiting collections of cath kidston, emma bridgewater and rosehip.

designer orla kiely has a recieved an honorary OBE in recognition of her services to business and the fashion industry. orla wasnt named in the new years honours list as she is an irish national, hence the news coming out only yesterday. well deserved and of course wonderful to see pattern design at the forefront. as seen here at vogue.co.uk
