Jeff has a fit, because I go to the beauty shop, get my hair "trimmed" and then I come home and cut it myself...grin...I color it myself and I have been known to be sooo bored that I've cut my own hair and gone from below my shoulder hair length to just below my ears...

I've done this for as long as I can remember. I take after an aunt of mine...she would go to the beauty shop and pay to have her hair permed, cut, styled, colored and then she would go home and wash it all out and do it herself...yes, I come from a strange family...grin..we like to give our money away to stange women to play with our hair and then we "fix" it later...grin...

It's all worth it to go to the salon if you can get a stylist that gives great scalp massages. After that, who gives a damn about your hair?

Ah yes...stream of consciousness...you're in the flow! My sister always cuts her own hair until she finally gets tired of looking like Rod Stewart. Now once or twice a year she will go to a salon.

I loved the new tv season when I was a kid. And TV Guide was the bible! Kind of ironic now that I am teaching at a school that discourages media intake.

I'm still a tv junkie!

I need a trim. My hair's thickened up post-cancer and it weighs a TON!

I'm anticipating the new TV season as well. I am such a TV addict it's kind of disturbing to think about. TWoP is one of my favorite haunts because there EVERYONE is a TV junkie.

Finally, I KNEW I liked you! I love Bono and U2 and have since the early '80s. One of my biggest life dreams is to be able to sing with Bono one day. Just to hang out and jam....

I'm waiting for the new Bionic Woman! I'm tired of all the reality and game shows.

I've never been able to get my hair cut right at the salon. I've been cutting it myself for years and, with the exception of one unfortunate cutting incident, it's worked out for me! Glad to hear it worked out for you too.

& You're the second person I know who has mentioned the new TV season! I'm catching the fever!!

And I could never imagine in my life typing "an alligator lives in a pond I pass every day..." ever. I find it awesome that you did.

There's another pond in my neighborhood with a fitness trail around it. One day I was walking the path and I saw a stick floating, sort of keeping pace with me. Really weird. Then its back surfaced, and the only thing I knew about alligators in that moment was fear!

I was exactly halfway around the circle. I didn't know if I should run--would that make him leap out of the water? Was he trying to corner me?

It was all I could do to walk briskly without breaking into an I'm-saving-my-life run.

He submerged by some weeds. I got out of there and I have not been back. I have since spotted him from my car (much safer!).

... THAT STORY FREAKED ME OUT SO MUCH!!

I had to use the capitals to adequately convey my freaked-outedness, Danette. ACCK. You have my admiration for not running (which I totally would have done, while screaming and flailing my arms a lot).

Haha! I just heard a guy on TV say that if you're swimming and see a shark, you don't have to swim faster than the shark, just faster than the person you're with.

So, Courtney, I'm guessing I'd be the one who would become alligator gruel!
