Unabashed Plug: Out next week is Vol. 2 of Warner Home Video’s Blu-ray cartoon collection, Looney Tunes Platinum Collection. I’m a little biased because I helped put together the set which includes fifty Warner Bros. cartoon classics, restored to pristine condition, now in glorious 1080p Blu-ray format – containing such masterpieces as A Wild Hare, Book Revue, You Ought To Be In Pictures, the complete Cecil Turtle trilogy, The Nasty Canasta collection, the Chuck Jones’ Bugs-Daffy-Elmer Hunting trilogy, the complete works of Beaky Buzzard, A. Flea and Tex Avery’s Art Deco classic Page Miss Glory. Not to mention a nifty 28-page color booklet (written by yours truly).
The complete contents are listed here. I just got my advance copy and can’t be more pleased about how it turned out, especially as it restores original titles to several films, and a lost ending gag to the seminal Hardaway-Dalton rabbit-hunting cartoon Hare-um Scare-um (1939). Pre-order it now – and yeah, it’s available on DVD (minus a bonus disc and several bonus features). Highly recommended!

At this moment, all seven Harry Potter books sit in a row on the bookshelf next to my computer. It's been awhile since I've taken them down and read them, but I'm sure, as the years continue and books come and go, those seven books will remain on my shelves. Someday maybe my kids will take them down and read them. I might revisit the stories once again, possibly sooner than later. Honestly, it's a little hard to believe that the last book, number seven, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was published back in 2007. Four years already? Where did the time go?
And now the movie version is nearing the end as well! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (DVD and Blu-ray) was just released on April 15th. The final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, premieres in theaters this year, on July 15th.
In her newest historical romance, Garwood takes us to the Scottish Highlands where a beautiful girl is about to be wronged and avenged. Princess Gabrielle of St. Biel has led a life of privilege and when it is time for her to marry, she does so willingly and happily. But her husband is murdered on the eve of her wedding and a few days later she is branded as a whore. When she is banished from all she holds dear she is not fearful, but soon fate hands her a new deck. She will stay in the home of Colm MacHugh and he will marry her. She is, of course, at first resistant, but, again of course, comes to love him. Meanwhile, there are evil men afoot intent on doing Gabrielle harm. Her new protector saves the day and all live happily ever after. Typical historical romance, but that is exactly what I like about it. You know exactly what you are going to get.

Just bought my HPDH pt 1 yesterday and watched it last night---regular ol' DVD though, not advanced enough for blue ray here, LOL!! Hard to pick a favorite character--I think Snape played his role brilliantly, so lots of admiration there =) Keeping my fingers crossed for a "follow up" book!!!

A Harry Potter related comment. I went to 4 of the seven midnight release parties. And I totally ignored my in-laws for a whole day that they came down to celebrate my birthday so I could read my book.

Well, I'm fond of all the main Harry Potter characters, but Harry Potter himself, is my favorite. He is the central character to ALL of the books and films and so he gets my vote! :-) Thanks for hosting this contest! I appreciate the opportunity to participate.

I've only read the series through once, in 2007 just before book 7 was released. I'd love to read them again, but I never want to start too close to the movie releases because then I get frustrated with the changes in the film. We'd love to win this! histtheo1(at)yahoo(dot)com
