These are great, Bron! I think the teachers who received them must be quite proud and happy with the result!

We, my husband and I were the recipients of caricatures when we were both on the Ambulance Corps and attended a dinner where a caricature artist was creating poses of all the members in their jump suits. It was a lot of fun, and as you say it happened VERRRRRRY fast.

You are amazing to be able to do these so well and also so fast. I can see why a single gift caricature would be preferred over the mass of people at a function of some kind.

These are really wonderful Bron. I have one of these in color myself. I have such great respect for anyone who can draw that fast. Whew!

But you might try hosting the images on another service. I click to view larger and it refuses to let me come back to this blog. That is SPAM level tactics and just reflects poorly on you and your art doesn't deserve that, it's too good.

I've noticed that happens as well...I'm uploading the image directly into blogger when I post so it seems to be their problem. I also like to add that it only happens on SFG...I never have that problem on my own blog, go figure!

Uh...you done good! Wouldn't notice it being a first time try for sure!

Two things I might've done differently. One, I would've colorized the blue lines to match the rest of the image; and two, I might've added some additional highlighting and shading colors (but not a full value range, since you already have some shading in the pencils).

Overall I think it's pretty sweet though, and the underlying drawing is outstanding.

I have a hard time getting good likenesses, so I'm always really impressed to see spot-on caricatures like this. They're even better in pencil form. Do you always go over your sketches in a vector program? I'd love to see some digital coloring blended with the original pencils.

Thanks for the kind words, Ryan. In the past, I've usually gone ahead and gone over my sketches in vector format, but that's simply because Illustrator is the program I'm most comfortable working in. I'd love to experiment with some digital painting in Photoshop and Painter, if I can ever find a few more hours in my day.

You nailed it, awesome caricature. Of course, I like the pencils better than the finished one. It's nice too, I mean, but I always preferred the sketch to the final for some reason.
