1. Tom Felton on Joining CW’s ‘The Flash’

Tom Felton visited San Diego Comic-Con last week to talk about joining CW’s show The Flash as Central City Police Department crime scene investigator, Julian Dorn.

Entertainment Tonight managed to chat to the cast of The Flash at the event, and Tom says he’s settling into the show well. He’ll be joining as a season regular, so it’s a good job he’s feeling at home!

“It’s always very nerve-racking when you’re joining such a well-oiled machine,” Felton told ET’s Leanne Aguilera during a Comic-Con Facebook Live session on Saturday. “But I’ve only been around them for less than a few days, and I already feel like part of the family.”

When asked by Entertainment Tonight whether he’d be playing a villainous, Malfoy-esque character, he said:

“Any character I play you should see as a threat … I honestly don’t know”

“I tried to get both of these writers tipsy last night, to pry some information out of them. I’m not sure,” he added. “In the first two episodes that we’ve gotten so for, there’s definitely friction [with Barry]… There’s some feathers ruffled.”

“If the last two seasons have anything to go by, anything is possible. I could be a woman by episode six!” he added.

Flashpoint is a huge event will be coming in Season 3 of The Flash, which, according to executive producer Todd Helbing, is going to “ripple through the entire season”. It has the potential to ‘ripple through’ other shows in the DC/The CW universe as well, including Arrow. This event is the reason Tom Felton is able to join the show, as the changes caused by Flashpoint lead to many new characters being introduced to this season.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Tom also reflected on the connection between Harry Potter and The Flash at Comic Con:

Felton couldn’t help but give the franchise that started his career some love, saying he was last here at Comic-Con representing a franchise “symbolized by a lightning bolt and now here I am.”

2. Harry Potter Young Adult Cast Round Up

In a series of “round ups” we have been summarising the many movies, plays and other projects associated with Harry Potter alumni. The YA cast from Potter includes the trio and J.K. Rowling’s ‘Big Six’, so it’s unsurprising that they’re on all sorts of exciting endeavours!

Aside from being UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and leader of a feminist book club, Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) is – as we know – an amazing actress. She’s currently in cinemas starring as ‘Lena’ in The Colony – a thriller based around the cult Colonia Dignidad.

She recently interviewed The Circle co-star Tom Hanks on feminism and the movie industry – the movie is based on Dave Egger’s book, and is set for initial release this year.

Emma is also set to portray the iconic leading lady Belle in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast in 2017. Even ‘the original Belle’, Paige O’Hara, is excited to see her take over the role!

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) has recently appeared in is currently in cinemas as a villain in Now You See Me 2, and has just started in his theatre role in Privacy, which features Edward Snowden.

A new trailer and poster for Dan’s upcoming spy-thriller Imperium have recently been released, which you can view below – he will be portraying nervous undercover FBI agent / white supremacist, Nate Foster. The film is set to be released in August. Entertainment Weekly reports:

“The director says — worryingly — that the more he learned about the topic, the more timely and relevant it seemed. “We’re witnessing a surge in far-right groups all across Europe; in some cases they’re nearly winning national elections,” says Ragussis. “We have a stereotype of what it means to be a white supremacist, but when I began collaborating with Michael and doing my own research, I was stunned by the depth and the extent of this movement.”

Ragussis made every effort to authentically portray the experience of going undercover, as well as the modern-day white supremacist community. “There’s a large white supremacist rally in the middle of the film that we had spent months researching and planning,” the filmmaker explains. “There were so many details that had to be captured to try to make it real and authentic. I’d read about them, seen them, watched videos of them — but to actually see it come to life by our own hands was something I’ll never forget. Someone even called the news and erroneously reported a Klan rally in their neighborhood! So to that extent, I suppose we did our job.””

normal_imperium

Dan will also star in Jungle – a psychological thriller based around the story of Yossi Ghinsberg’s memoir of his trip to the Amazon, which was included in The Discovery Channel’s I Shouldn’t Be Alive.

Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) is set to star in Sick Note with Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), after his recent performance in Moonwalkers with Fantastic Beasts actor Ron Perlman

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) has been cast as a series regular in CW’s The Flash. He will be portraying Julian Dorne – a Central City Police Department crime scene investigator. Read more here.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) recently wrote, produced and directed short movie Medusa’s Ankles with Potter co-star Jason Isaacs, which is set for release this year. She also raised money for Film Aid by making her own ‘Come Dream With Me’ t-shirts, which got the support of many Potter co-stars, and even J.K. Rowling herself!

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) is currently starring in  Me Before You alongside Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who).
He is also (almost) confirmed to be  co-starring as ‘Lenny’ in Terminal, along with Margot Robbie , Simon Pegg, Mike Myers and more. The film is being produced by Harry Potter producer, David Barron. Read more at Matthew lewis.com here.

Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas) will be returning to CB’s hit show How to Get Away With Murder for its third season on September 22nd.

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Katie Leung (Cho Chang) recently took the Ilvermorny sorting tests on Pottermore, both being sorted into the same house as J.K. Rowling: Thunderbird:

Sorted. #Ilvermorny

A photo posted by Katie Leung (@_katieleung_) on

Evanna also appeared at the premiere of David Yates’s new film The Legend of Tarzan:

Katie Leung is set to star in The Foreigner – a film based on 1992 novel The Chairman, and co-starring Pierce Brosnan and Jackie Chan.

Lastly, Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) has continued to make videos on her eponymous Youtube channel (here). She also appeared in Call the Midwife, and is set to star in Modern Life Is Rubbish, directed by Daniel Gill, who is known for being assistant Director on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

Hope you’re looking forward to all these upcoming features from our favourite YA Potter actors as much as we are! Be sure to take a look at the adult actor round ups, split into Part 1 (here) and Part 2 (here)!

3. Tom Felton and Warwick Davis on Theme Parks, ‘Fantastic Beasts’ and ‘Cursed Child’

Adding to the torrent of great interviews from the grand opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood this week, SnitchSeeker have posted interviews with Tom Felton and Warwick Davis,  on which attraction they think should be added to the park.

Tom Felton stayed loyal to his character, saying he’d love to see Malfoy Manor, and even said he’d agree if he was asked to be involved in the process of making it!:

I would like to see Malfoy Manor – obviously a bit biased there. I think it would maybe make a good ghost house or some sort of like spook train or whatever. There’s enough dark sides of that house to scare any child, I think. Yeah, there’s more look forward to. Something tells me this isn’t the end of it.”

On Fantastic Beasts, Tom Felton was confident that the newest venture in the cinematic Wizarding World will live up to Potter fans’ standards:
SnitchSeeker: What are your thoughts about the Fantastic Beasts series? What are you hoping to see, as a fan, as part of the series?
Tom:
No expectations. I haven’t thought about it. I know it’s the dream team. You’ve got Heyman, Yates and Rowling back together, so they can’t really do much wrong, I don’t think. I have every faith in their ability to convert Jo’s work to the best of their abilities. I just think it’s exciting that she’s keeping the flame going, in a different sense. She’s creating more content.

SnitchSeeker: What would be your advice to that cast, just coming into this fan base, for Eddie Redmayne and everybody else?
Tom:
I don’t think they need to take advice from us. We don’t share any similarities, really. At 9 and 10 years old, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. They know exactly what they’re getting themselves into. And Eddie’s an Oscar-winning actor. The last thing he needs is advice from me.

Tom also spoke about his career choices, and projects he’s currently involved in:

SnitchSeeker: What do you have coming up, project-wise?
Tom:
Something released? A few things this year. There’s an animation film called, Sheep & Wolves, there’s a British spy film called, Stratton and a film that I just did with Troian Bellisario, an American drama called, Feed. I have no idea when any of these films will be out, but I know they will be at some point. This year’s going to be mostly commercial.

SnitchSeeker: You pick so many different projects. How do you choose them? What motivates you?
Tom:
Just people. I don’t particularly go for character or story. I mean, it all plays a part, but I’m more interested in working with people that I get on well with. I don’t consider the outcome to be the reward or the result. I just purely base it on my experience, and what comes out of it is really neither here nor there to me. If the Harry Potter films were a complete failure, I still would have loved them as much as I did. So yeah, just enjoying the experience.

Watch SnitchSeeker’s video of the interview below, and read the full interview here.

Warwick Davis also told us what he’d add – he takes a dark route, similar to Tom – it’d definitely be interesting to see some sort of haunted mansion-esque ride with the darker places in the Wizarding World featuring somehow!:

SnitchSeeker: If you had a voice in how to expand the Wizarding World here or in Orlando or even Japan, what would you like to see come to life?
Warwick:
I would like to see Azkaban. I’m intrigued about what goes on in Azkaban. We hear about it but we never really get a chance to see in Azkaban. So I think that’d be interesting.

SnitchSeeker: How would you envision it?
Warwick:
A dark experience, wouldn’t it be? It’d be spooky, kind of like a Haunted Mansion-type thing that they have at Disneyworld. You go through and it’s one of those exploratory rides that takes you through. Lots of shocks and stuff, and really into special effects.

Speaking on Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child (which Warwick admitted he’d love to have a part in),  Davis seems just as excited as Tom, with all the trust in Jo Rowling and Jack Thorne to give us amazing stories, and links this to the abilities of the theme park to add to the Potter stories in ways we’d never imagined:

SnitchSeeker: So Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child, it’s basically a new chapter in the entire Wizarding World. What are your thoughts on it – starting with Fantastic Beasts?
Warwick:
Fantastic Beasts will, I believe, give us another glimpse into the Wizarding World J.K. Rowling’s imagined. That’s quite exciting, isn’t it? It’ll be a slightly different perspective of that world. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie.

SnitchSeeker: Have you poked J.K. Rowling to get her rolling there? Because we know there are goblins in Fantastic Beasts?
Warwick:
You don’t know who to drop hints to, these days. I used to do that with Star Wars. That was my old trick. If there’s a character, I would hope that they would ask me to do something. As I said, I’m just excited that they’re actually going to make some more stuff that gives us another look into that world.

As do things here in the Wizarding World. Forbidden Journey is a chance to experience further adventures – something you don’t see in the movies. So all of this stuff expands on it. The play in London will also do a little bit more of that, as well. It’ll be a slightly different glimpse into the world.

SnitchSeeker: So what advice would you give to the actors in Fantastic Beasts, as somebody whose been surrounded by millions of fans over the years? They’re about to hit that, as well.
Warwick:
They’re certainly going to find it an interesting experience. And one I should imagine they’re preparing themselves for because, obviously, when we made the first Harry Potter film we knew the books were really successful, there were two books out at that point.

We never had a concept of how successful the movie was going to be. And then the fact that we were going to go and make eight in total. So at this point I imagine they actually have some idea like, “Yeah, this could be pretty huge, this.” But, you never can tell, but they’re always going to be known for being cast members in Fantastic Beasts. That’s what’s going to happen.

In terms of projects he’s working on, Warwick is very secretive – SnitchSeeker try to get us some hints, but to no avail, unfortunately! We look forward to the eventual revealing of his role in films to come:

SnitchSeeker: So what’s coming up for you, project-wise?
Warwick:
I’m in loads of stuff at the minute. Much of it I can’t talk about, which is a shame, but rules of secrecy exist quite prominently in the film industry now. There’s lots of exciting things, but stuff I can’t talk about. Sorry.

SnitchSeeker: Possibly back in Star Wars?
Warwick:
Again, I couldn’t talk about it.

Again, see SnitchSeeker’s interview with Warwick below, and read the full interview with him here.

4. Evanna Lynch on Zombies, Warwick Davis on ‘Cursed Child’ and More From The Wizarding World in Hollywood!

The red carpet event celebrating yesterday’s grand opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood took place on the 5th April.  Leaky fans were on the ground covering the event, which you can read about here, but of course there are more interviews with the Potter cast than we can count!

Here are some of the best below:

Entertainment Weekly sought after the actor’s questions for J.K. Rowling since the series finished filming.

James and Oliver Phelps wanted to know what happened to George after Fred’s death:

OLIVER: I think with George, it would probably be what does he do with the company. Like, does he expand it? Or does he just keep it as homage to his brother? Or does he go, we’re going to open it up elsewhere?

JAMES: Did he franchise it?

Oliver Phelps came up with a great theory regarding Fred’s ultimate fate, which he told Seventeen:

“I think he’d dive into the family business even more and try to make it even better in Fred’s memory, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Fred was a ghost in the shop.”

Tom Felton told Entertainment Weekly that he missed Draco, and had endless compliments for J.K. Rowling regarding the character:

There’s a beautiful understanding between him and I, I think. I miss him. I miss him a lot. But Jo has such a wonderful way of making these characters so rich and full anyway. I suppose all the things that I don’t know are assumed. But I also know that Jo is an endless wealth of knowledge so if I ever have anything that was puzzling me, I know she’d be more than happy for me to ask her. You’ve got me picking my brains now. I’ll have to message her tomorrow.”

Evanna Lynch obviously had the most questions about Luna – being a huge fan of the books, she wanted to know more about Luna’s family:

I think the big blank is her mom. I’ve always wondered what she’s like. We’ve just been told her name is Pandora and that she died doing an experiment, and I just wonder, I really am curious what was her relationship with Luna? Because obviously she’s so close to her dad, and I find that there’s always one parent that you have more in common with or that you confide in more, and I wonder … was that her mom? Or just what kind of person she was.”

Make sure you catch the full article from Entertainment Weekly here.

You can also read a hilarious exclusive interview with Tom Felton playing ‘Marry, Snog, Stupefy’ with Bustle here, and a snippet from the interview below:

“When given three names of Harry Potter characters, Felton must choose which he’d most like to marry, snog (kiss), and stupefy, which, according to Harry Potter wiki, to stupefy someone means to “render a victim unconscious and/or halt moving objects.” So basically, it’s a less morbid version of the “kill” option most muggles are accustom to.

But before I can give him three options, Felton declares: “I’d snog Bellatrix.” …. I remind him of the rules — I give you the three options, Tom — and we begin.”

MSN also spoke to Evanna Lynch, about the roles she is currently looking for, which appear to steer away from ‘darker’ roles in shows such as The Walking Dead:

“I really just want to do characters a I really love,” Lynch told AAP on the red carpet at the grand opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in California.

“There are other scripts that come along and I see them but I don’t really have the passion unless I connect with the character.

“I am sick of zombie movies, all these things about undead people. I want things that make the world lighter rather than scarier.

“Everyone says it’s so good but I hate zombies and that kind of violence.”

She also commented on J.K. Rowling’s constant development of the wizarding world – which we know she is excited about and understandably wanting to be involved in! Evanna spoke about what she’d like to see from any sequels involving Luna:

“She (Rowling) has created another world and made it so rich and varied and interesting and I feel like it will never end,” Lynch said.

“I’d love if she did a sequel, I would love to know more about Luna and I feel like there is a lot more to explore.

“I would love a wildlife show with Luna and a documentary series.”

Read the MSN interview in full here.

She revealed her thoughts on whether she thought the pairing of Neville and Luna should have gone any further to Movie Pilot:

“Definitely not. I think he’s very much a homebody, a stay-at-home dad. And Luna wants to go out and explore the world and different creatures, and I think she wants to have several different relationships and not be committed forever. Neville would want a good sturdy wife who cooks, and that’s not her.”

Evanna also gave Extra a VIP tour along with James and Oliver Phelps, which you can view below:

Warwick Davis also attended the event, and spoke to Hollywood Life about the how he’d feel about appearing in Cursed Child. Of course, he’d be more than thrilled:

“To be back in something that has been created by J.K. Rowling and something that goes on to have a life beyond that is exceptional and it would be lovely to do that!”

“I love performing, I am an actor. This is what I love doing So however I manage that and have that manifest itself is a great pleasure!”

He also revealed his aspirations for TV:

“It would be to have a chat show, I mean that is my last bucket list to take on”

“I have done everything else in my career that I have wanted to take on and what I want to do but the chat show still remains elusively something that I would still love to do and a thing that I think I could do very well!”

Read the full interview at Hollywood Life here.

SnitchSeeker also caught up with James and Oliver Phelps to ask them about the theme parks, and about the newest ventures into the wizarding world (Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child). They posted a video of the interview (below), and you can catch their transcript here.

5. Leaky at the Red Carpet Premiere of the Wizarding World in Hollywood

Tuesday night, Harry Potter stars, Hollywood stars, the esteemed John Williams and many CEOs gathered to celebrate the red carpet premiere of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Hollywood. The new Harry Potter theme park opens today, April 7.

Leaky had two very willing Leaky and Harry Potter fans, Christina and Jeasica, were on the ground for Leaky, covering the event as our volunteer freelance reporters! Christina and Jeasica were on the red carpet, asking our favorite Harry Potter stars, and several others, questions.

Film director and producer Stephan Spielberg, who had an interest in adapting the Harry Potter books to film in the early stages of developing movie rights, was also in attendance. Spielberg was not chosen to direct or adapt the first Harry Potter film, as Jo and Warner Bros. felt Chris Columbus was a better fit. Mr. Spielberg was accompanied by Larry Kurzweil, Tom Williams, Mark Woodbury, and Kevin Tsujihara on the red carpet:

Jeasica and Christina conducted brief interviews with the stars. The video clips of this can be seen below.

The first is with Warwick Davis, talking about his favorite part of the Wizarding World theme parks. We were excited to watching John Williams conduct the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra too!

[MORE VIDEOS COMING SOON]

The red carpet questioning was followed by a beautiful ceremony. The presidents and CEOs of Universal and Warner Bros, and the Mayor of Las Angeles gave speeches about the theme park and the magic it will bring to the Hollywood area. John Williams and the Harry Potter stars were introduced.

Leaky’s Jeasica and Christina had great seats to watch the introduction ceremony, and captured these clips of the speeches.

Tom Felton, Evanna Lynch, and Warwick Davis entered stage the same way all other guests and speakers entered. The Phelps twins–in proper Fred and George style–rolled in, driving the Weasley car:

The ceremony included a performance by the Hogwarts frog choir, and concluded with a magnificent light show on the castle that featured all four Hogwarts Houses, and was accompanied by John Williams conducting the L.A. Philharmonic!

One of the ever-mysterious Pottermore correspondents was at the event, reporting on the Harry Potter site’s behalf. They too, talked to stars and captured beautiful photos of the event.

WWoHP_Hollywood_Hogwarts_and_John_Williams

Pottermore talked with Billy Bob Thornton on his visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. He was there with his daughter, who is a big fan of the series. Pottermore reports:

‘She’s really into it,’ Thornton admitted. ‘Half the stuff she talks about, I don’t know what it means. She and her best friend have secrets they won’t tell us about. I think they take something out of Harry Potter and they invent their own worlds.’

With a string of iconic roles under his belt, does Mr Thornton think he would make a good wizard?

‘Well, I’ve been called a wizard, and a few other things, so who knows? I’ve cast a spell or two in my time.’

Pottermore talked to other stars about who they thought were Hollywood wizards, saying:

‘Blake Lively,’ affirmed Jaime Camil, of Jane the Virgin fame. ‘I saw her Instagram today and she said she was up to no good.’

Comedian Chris Hardwick has clearly thought about this question before.

‘[George] Clooney is definitely a wizard.’ He announced. ‘It’s the smoky eyes. Clooney is definitely a guy that was, like, President of the Hogwarts school newspaper. President of everything.’

Pottermore also caught up with the Harry Potter cast, and talked to them about the nostalgia of visiting the Harry Potter theme parks. Pottermore reported:

‘You just feel immersed in it,’ James admitted. ‘You forget you’re not at Leavesden Studios filming. You still feel – I don’t mean to be cheesy – but the magical thrill of it.’ In full Fred and George style, James and Oliver even turned up to the bash in the iconic, blue Ford Anglia.

While Warwick Davies waxed lyrical about how much he loved the Butterbeer, Evanna Lynch, who is famously a huge fan of the books, was simply soaking in as much atmosphere as possible.

‘When I see new things in the park, I get excited and I feel spoiled that I get to go wherever I want,’ she enthused. ‘I love coming back here every time.’

‘It’s a bit like walking through your old school’, [Tom Felton] told us. Felton promised to return often, and recalled that, last week, he had wandered around for about an hour without anyone noticing.

‘Hogwarts as a whole is a wonder to be around, so the fact that we have it a few meters behind us all is special.’

‘It’s my childhood,’ the actor added.

Wednesday, the the Harry Potter stars gathered for a media panel and one-on-one interviews, and the park opened to the general public (and press) in the very early hours of this morning.

About our volunteer freelance writers:

Christina is 33, and a single mother of two, who lives in  Apple Valley. When she is not being an epic Harry Potter fan, and attending events for Leaky, she is a mechanic on the tatical vehicles for the Marine Corps civilian side. She described her experience in the new Harry Potter theme park, saying:

You are a muggle who has imagined a wondrous place filled with magic and mystery. You are a muggle who wanted to befriend a wizard, dragon, or maybe a hippogriff. Wait no longer Muggle, for I have seen that magical place that you have been waiting for. That place has finally come to Universal Studios Hollywood as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.

As you follow the footsteps of Professor Albus Percival Wolfric Brian Dumbledore, you enter into a familiar, magical far away land. You will forget you’re from the old muggle world and immerse yourself into a world that has not been seen by the Muggle kind. A world that as you might considered to be unreal. It is quite the opposite here at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter—the theme parks make the imagined real.

Jeasica said “It was such an amazing experience thank you so much for the opportunity. Both the frozen butter beer and regular were fantastic! The food tasted just as it smelled AMAZING!!! The rides were just as expected fun and made you feel like you were flying with the characters.”

Some footage of this morning’s general opening can be seen below. Fans dressed up as their favorite characters–including wearing Luna’s Gryffindor Lion hat.The press joined the crowds at 5:30 this morning, before the sun rose:

7. Tom Felton Gives Fans a Tour of Wizarding World with USA Today

As the USA Today reported through their Twitter and SnapChat, they toured the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Hollywood with Harry Potter’s Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy). Yesterday, after the wave of social media updates, USA Today put together a full article of the pre-opening tour of the park that Tom also gave some lucky fans!

635953011199691895-XXX-THREE-BROOMSTICKS-INN-TOM-FELTON0101-80899620

The article includes a video introducing Tom and showing a time-lapsed clip of the different parts of the Harry Potter park that they toured. The video shows Tom and the USA Today news correspondent going through Zonko’s Joke Shop, Honeydukes, buying wands at Ollivander’s. Take a look:

USA Today also uploaded a series of images, a few of which can be seen below. The article stated:

He might have played villainous Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, butTom Felton’s appearance in person at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywoodbrought pure joy to fans.

One euphoria-frozen fan even burst into tears as Felton, 28,  walked the grounds of the major attraction, which officially opens Thursday.

For the British actor, who now resides in Los Angeles, it was emotional stepping back into the world he inhabited for eight Harry Potter films.

“It is really cool to have a place like this to come back to,” says Felton. “Every time I get homesick, I can come here and re-live a bit of my childhood.”

Tom Felton, with years and years of background knowledge having spent his childhood on a set very similar to the parks, gave USA Today and fans suggestions of what needs to be done with their time spent in the Wizarding World park: fans must get a Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks, getting a wand at Ollivander’s, purchasing robes (or Hogwarts school wear) at Gladrags Wizardwear, and getting some sweets and toys at Zonko’s/Honeydukes.

635953011157571625-XXX-HONEYDUKES-DETAIL-TOM-FELTON0098-80899438

Tom Felton described his experiences on set compared to those at the theme park, saying:

Felton inducted USA TODAY’s reporter into Malfoy’s Slytherin house with an impromptu robe ceremony (and lethal tie-fitting) at Gladrags, the Hogwarts wizarding apparel store. The robes are legit: Felton pointed out the hidden, built-in wand holder and pockets.

“When we were filming, they sewed these pockets up because I would put chocolate and sweets in there,” says Felton.

Honeydukes candy is a hit with Hogwarts students and Felton, who enjoyed the chocolate frog and Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans. Proceed with caution, though — some of the unique jelly bean flavors are gross.

“It’s a fun game, you give them to your friends — the good ones first and then the bad ones,”  says Felton, chewing away. “I think I just tried earthworm.”

It is also important to explore Hogwarts. Even if one does not want to ride the Forbidden Journey, fans can walk through the castle in a separate line market out for “Castle Tours.” Tom Felton walked through the castle in the Hollywood park, feeling “joyous and happy.”

8. The Wizarding World park in Universal Hollywood Opening this Week

On April 7, this coming week, Universal Studios Hollywood will be laying down the red carpet for the grand opening of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. It is a highly anticipated event with many special guests.

A few Harry Potter alumni have already made their way to the park to enjoy the magic it has to offer before the grand opening unleashes much loved chaos with thousands of adoring fans waiting to be immersed in a world they have grown to love through books and films.

Evanna Lynch loves the wizarding candy from Honeydukes, and posted a picture of her blue tongue on her Instagram:

Screen Shot 2016-04-02 at 8.47.50 PM

USA Today showed Tom Felton around the park, and documented their magical day on SnapChat and Twitter:

Similarly to it’s Orland location, Universal Studios theme parks expect to strengthen their financial position with the opening of the Harry Potter park. As Fortune Magazine and many other news sources noted last week, the Potter parks have been a large source of income for Universal Parks. Fortune reported:

From the cobblestone alleyways to the snow-capped roofs, fans of Harry Potter will be able to immerse themselves into a new “Wizarding World” attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, and the theme park is betting on their purchasing power.

[The] “Wizarding World” is what the theme park is banking on. Comcast CMCSA 0.13% reported a revenue increase of 27% to $3.3 billion from its Orlando, Fla., and Hollywood, Calif. locations in its 2015 year-end report.

The company said revenues were bolstered by Orlando’s new Harry Potter world, which features two lands, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, connected by the Hogwarts Express train. An additional ticket is required to visit both lands in one day.

The full article may be read here. The grand opening of the park is expected to be as wonderful as the opening for the park in Orlando, and we hope that Universal will not disappoint–with John Williams in attendance, how could they?

Leaky is looking for a devoted fan going to the theme park grand opening, who would like to freely volunteer to be free lance writer for the event! Please contact [email protected] if you are interested. Thank you!

The independent drama began production early las month. Deadline Hollywood reported the pair signing on for the film, and gave the films’ synopsis:

There are almost no boundaries between them; even their dreams are connected. As the twins prepare for their last year of school together, an unexpected tragedy splits them apart, leaving the surviving sibling to learn how to live without their other half — or test how far they are willing to go to bring them back.

10. Tom Felton’s “Risen” Moving Release Dates

Tom Felton’s new movieRisen, has changed release dates. Originally scheduled for January 22, 2016 release, MGM and Paramount have decided to move around a couple of release dates to attract larger target audiences.

As Tom Felton’s new film is religion-based, MGM and Paramount have decided to move it to a February release date to attract pre-Easter audience rush. The infamous The Passion of Christ and the recent Son of God, both were successful February releases. The Global Dispatch reports:

“MGM and Paramount Pictures have moved the release of Ben-Hur by nearly six months — from Feb. 26 to Aug. 12. This opened up the date for Risen, another faith-based project, to move up and upon in theaters.

Joseph Fiennes stars as the Roman soldier Clavius searching for Christ’s missing body and “reintroduces us to Jesus’s crucifixion, resurrection—and to the Great Commission—not through a disciple or follower’s POV but through the experience of a hardened and skeptical Roman tribune,” according to Sony.

Harry Potter star Tom Felton and Fear the Walking Dead star Cliff Curtis co-star – full synopsis below.

RISEN is an epic biblical story of the weeks immediately following Jesus’ death on the cross, as seen through the eyes of the unbelieving Clavius (Fiennes), a high-ranking Roman military tribune. Clavius and his aide Lucius (Felton) are instructed by Pontius Pilate to ensure that Jesus’ radical followers don’t steal His body and claim resurrection. When the body goes missing within days, Clavius’ mission is to find the body, dispel rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.”

Risen will hit theaters February 19, 2016.

12. Tom Felton Cast in new Indie War Hero Movie

Tom Felton has signed on to a new movie project that we know very little about, and isn’t even titled yet. None the less, most of us don’t care because we’d go to see it just for Tom. Not because of its genre, writing or cinematography, no, just to see Tom.Many Harry Potter actors have worked in independent films, bringing them more support and publicity. It is safe to say that this film will benefit the same, in addition to Tom’s great acting skills.

The “war hero drama” tells the true story of Iraq War Hero, Megan Leavey, and her dog, Rex. Leavey was a Marine and a part of the K9 bomb sniffing unit. She and Rex formed an inseparable bond as they took on over 100 missions on 2 six-month tours, before being wounded by a detonation. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kate Mara is playing Leavey, and Tom has signed on to play a veteran dog handler.

The Hollywood Reporter says of the film:

Mara is playing the Marine, while Edie Falco is on board to play her mother.

Felton will play a veteran dog handler.

The film will shoot in Spain, South Carolina and NY.

Gabriela Cowperthwaite, the helmer behind the documentary Blackfish, is directing the drama that centers on Leavey, a Marine in a K9 bomb sniffing unit in Iraq, and the bond with her dog, Rex.

They also highlighted another film the Tom as been cast in, United Kingdom. He will complete this project before working on the war hero drama. The Hollywood Reporter gave a synopsis of this project as well:

Felton is shooting United Kingdom, joining Rosamund Pike andDavid Oyelowo in the period interracial love story being directed by Amma Asante.

Written by Guy Hibbert, the script tells the true story of Seretse Khama, a member of the royal family in the country of Bechuanaland, now Botswana, who fell in love with a white English commoner.

Felton will portray the posh and polished district commissioner to Bechuanaland who wants to prevent Khama from getting married.

15. UPDATE: Tom Felton, Rupert Grint and the Phelps twins attend Fan Expo Canada

Fan Expo Canada 2015 took place over the weekend, and details of each panel are slowly being revealed.

Saturday marked the day of the Hogwarts Reunion panel – featuring Tom Felton, Rupert Grint and James and Oliver Phelps – and on Sunday the Harry Potter cast members took part in autograph and photo sessions. The convention was the first fan event that Rupert Grint had attended.

In his own panel on Friday, Tom spoke of his visit to Universal Studios in Japan. Tribute Canada‘s article reported:

‘He mentioned that he did try the butter beer and found it very sweet and felt like he was drinking a thousand calories. He told fans he enjoyed playing Draco, saying, “There’s something about playing a slimy little git that’s fun.”

He said that Rupert Grint (Ron) often got a case of the giggles while filming. He spoke of the transition from Richard Harris to Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, saying it was a smooth one. While Harris had a powerful voice, Gambon had everyone laughing and trying to keep the mood light. Fishing is still a big hobby for Felton, and he has fished by the St. Lawrence River and even in Vancouver. He expressed his love for Canada.’

You can read more about the various panels in Tribute’s article here.

SnitchSeeker also attended the Hogwarts Reunion panel event on Saturday.

Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 15.13.57

Their article reported that the actors talked about various topics, such as their best and worst memories and characters, and Tom Felton spoke about a conversation with J.K. Rowling regarding Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:

‘Tom Felton revealed that he spoke to J.K. Rowling about two months ago and tried to get information about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and while she wouldn’t tell him much, she joked that he and other Harry Potter actors would have background roles.’

SnitchSeeker also gave a list detailing main points from the Hogwarts Reunion panel, which can be read at the end of their article here.  The panel sounded brilliant, and one of our favourite moments to read about in SnitchSeeker’s article was:

‘Oliver said his least favourite dead character was Hedwig because on set of the second movie there was a evil owl in the car’.

Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 15.13.47

Videos of the panels will reportedly be released by SnitchSeeker soon, so keep posted at their website here!

Ice Cream Man (infamous Rupert Grint news source) were also reporting on the event based on visitor experiences, and gave a list of quotes from the panel in their article:

‘“We grew up on those sets. We kind of became the people we are today on those sets.”

“My Little Pony. A Brony. The Brony thing.” – On what Rupert would cosplay

“Yeah, I’d never get rid of that. It’s my prize possession.” – Rupert on his ice cream van. He also mentioned he doesn’t drive it around any more because ice cream men can be territorial and he doesn’t want to start a turf war

“I always say Rupert as the next Bond. The world is ready for a ginger Bond.” – From Tom’

Ice Cream Man also published a gallery of photos from the event, featuring the four cast members with various fans. The gallery can be seen here.

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) was quick to tweet about the new Risen trailer, saying that he was “Psyched for this, pal!” The two are currently tweeting back and forth about their weekend plans–throwing in Harry Potter references, of course, because the rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin is still very real.

J.K. Rowling has just joined the conversation–expressing the same pleasure at seeing our Harry Potter boys banter between their respective houses.

Screen Shot 2015-08-28 at 4.28.31 PM

Risen is a biblical story of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The story is told from the views of non-believers, attempting to find the body of Christ after it has risen, leading the worlds largest and most important man-hunt. IMDB shares Sony Pictures description of the movie:

“Follows the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius, a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius, are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.”

17. Tom Felton cast in upcoming action-thriller film “Stratton”

Tom Felton, the actor who portrayed Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, has earned a part in the upcoming action-thriller film Stratton. According to screendaily.com, the film will star Dominic Cooper in the lead role, with an ensemble cast that includes Felton:

In Stratton, Cooper will play the titular role – a SBS (Special Boat Service) operative working alongside MI6 to prevent a terrorist attack in London.

Cooper will star alongside an ensemble cast that includes Austin Stowell (Whiplash, Bridge of Spies) and Harry Potter star Tom Felton.

There’s no word yet on what kind of character Felton will be portraying in Stratton. However, as we know, he’s pretty darn convincing as the arrogant and misguided Draco, so perhaps we’ll love to hate his character in this new film, too. Filming is set to begin in Italy on July 15th, so we’ll hopefully hear more soon.

19. Ashley Greene talks about Tom Felton and "CBGB"

SnitchSeeker sat down with Todd Lincoln, the director of Tom Felton's (Draco Malfoy) new movie The Apparition, and Felton's costar Ashley Green. The Apparition hits theaters this Friday, August 24. Ashley Greene also costars with Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) in CBGB. Both Todd Lincoln and Ashley Greene talked about working with Tom Felton. Ashley also talked about acting along side Alan Rickman and meeting Rupert Grint.

Todd Lincoln: His audition was a very bold, effortless, iconic kind of audition. He was great with a lot of the technical terms and on his own he was interested in the paranormal. He watched all these ghost hunter shows and he loves this stuff. And I’d seen him grow as an actor and a person in the Harry Potter films, and he wanted to do something very different and I thought it was cool, this idea of a younger savvier guy being more the leader/expert character with this experiment in this film instead of doing the typical, “Okay, here’s the older character actor that you’re going to bring in and pay a lot of money to for two days.” It just seemed like a fresher choice.

How was it working with Tom Felton, since he’s Harry Potter and you’re Twilight?
Ashley Greene:
Oh, he’s so sweet. He’s really lovely and it was great. I think he’s a really fantastic actor. He was just very fun to be around. It’s an interesting thing whenever you come from two franchises like that. We chatted a little bit about the madness of it all ... lots of screaming people. And just the intensity of it all, the kind of zero to sixty of it was what we talked about. Coming from not really doing much and then becoming a part of a book series and then it just exploding and becoming this snowball effect. And chatted about how you become family with these people.
