How to use this Page
You are viewing the most recent posts tagged with the words: new blog in the JacketFlap blog reader. What is a tag? Think of a tag as a keyword or category label. Tags can both help you find posts on JacketFlap.com as well as provide an easy way for you to "remember" and classify posts for later recall. Try adding a tag yourself by clicking "Add a tag" below a post's header. Scroll down through the list of Recent Posts in the left column and click on a post title that sounds interesting. You can view all posts from a specific blog by clicking the Blog name in the right column, or you can click a 'More Posts from this Blog' link in any individual post.

Man on Flying Carpet, original children's book illustration by Raul Colon |
Chemers Gallery's blog has gotten a virtual face-lift! As of Monday, April 6, it has
moved from its old site on Blogspot to...
OUR WEBSITE for a more streamlined, cohesive web presence. We're loving our new look and hope you will, too!
Our old blog posts will remain live on Blogspot, but our links may not work due to our new format. Feel free to browse all the way back to 2007 to revisit your favorite articles or learn more about the goings-on around here over the years. Just don't forget to change your bookmarks to our
new blog site, now at
www.chemersgallery.com/blog!
This is just to say farewell to blogspot for me.
It's been a nice few years, but finally brought everything together over on my website.
Streamlining.
Thanks for following me here
and I hope to see you over on my
Toodles!

well, because i am on a mission to constantly better myself and my work, i promised myself i would re-design/re-do my website every year around this time.
and so it appears the time has come once again. and i just love making new *projects* for myself and making my plate so full that i can barely sleep at night because my head is bursting with idea after idea after idea....well you get the point...;) really no big surprise considering as a small child i had a hard time *resting*. it's the over-abundance of drive i suppose. but hey, NO COMPLAINTS from me! i'm a big believer in pushing yourself to be the best you can possibly be....
and for me, that is constantly growing as an artist and illustrator. so....within the next week, i will be re-doing the website over at www.theenchantedeasel.com (which is now "under construction"). i just wanted to feature little pippa and change up some of the layout and colors. oh, and i did i mention they went and changed their software?! let's just say that i have my work cut out for me!
although i do have a bachelor's in graphic design (as well as fine arts) i am NO FAN of web design....or any computer design. i'm old school...pencil, paintbrush, canvas, sketchbook. because....that's just how pippa and i roll...;)
oh, and new website means new blog. like i said, i love a full plate!:)
Early readers of
You Are My Only encounter, in the final pages, a young, astute, and beautiful young woman who will become integral to Sophie's healing. Her name is Miss Mandy. She epitomizes all that is good, all that is future.
The real Miss Mandy walked into my life a few years ago; she's here to stay. Today she sits to the right of these words. She is, you will have to agree with me, gorgeous.
I've been waiting to share Miss Mandy's new blog with you. Today is the day that I unveil it.
On a Southern Breeze reports on her adventures in Australia—the birds, the chemists, the calories, the blooming things. It tells us all about this fine reader of both life and books. It reminds us of what happens when a young couple leaves the familiar haven of Colorado to live on the opposite side of the world.
Please visit Miss Mandy. She has stories to tell. She has heart.
but, alas Laurasmagicday has moved! Come and visit me at my new digs Laurasmagicday See you there:)

I put the plums up for auction on ebay. Thank you to those of you who expressed an interest! I appreciate the encouragement, truly.
I started a new blog just for these small pieces which I will offer for sale.
Paula Pertile's Pencil. How's that for a catchy title?
Its been a while since I've "done" ebay, so the listing is pretty bare bones. I plan to do a "me" page and all that at some point. I'm not sure how often I'll be putting pieces up for auction, we'll see how it goes. I'd love to do a few a week, but the reality is that with other commissioned work, these will get done when I can fit them in. There will probably be flurries, then dry spells. If you'd like to subscribe on the other blog you can get updates when new art is available.
(P.S. I also hope that the ebay listing doesn't show the 'seller view' with all the editing options for you, like it does when I view it ~ I'm rusty at this, and can't make it come up for me withOUT all that stuff. So if someone wants to check it and tell me it displays 'normal' for you, I'd sleep better. Thanks.)
I also welcome suggestions for subject matter if anyone is keen on seeing something in particular (like pears, as someone has already suggested!), or if you'd like to specifically commission a piece done in this style.
I'm also taking pet/people/building portrait commissions, and will be doing a post about that soon. NOW is the time to start thinking about Christmas presents, and if you think you might like something done, please let me know and I'll put you in the queue. Stay tuned for a post with all the details on pricing and all of that in the near future.

Other stuff:
I get to make this photo into a nice illustration for a client. Them's a lotta bricks! Wish me luck.
If you know me, you know how much I love animals...all animals. My own pets are a great source of inspiration for me. You can find my animals in lots of my stories. If you'd like to meet them in person (photos) scamper over to my new blog at:
http://jan-mader.blogspot.com/
Let's write about animals together! No symphony orchestra ever played music like a child laughing with a puppy. Do you have a child and puppy to write about?
Meanwhile, I'm still looking for springtime suggestions on my last post...any takers?
After you check out the writing activites, please head over to my new blog about animals...another passion.
Read my stories and share yours. I look at it this way. My freelance is down, so I'm going to create my own work. I might as well write about what I love! Could an anthology be in the works?

Wordpress buggers me up every time and refuses to let me comment on anything. Sorry -I won't be following you over there.
Good luck.
