Once again Winston and Roxxanne have met a challenge. You can find them in the Castle kitchen today along with a most angry Queen Mellameen.

Winston and Roxxanne have arrived.... hop on over to Winston's blog and continue the adventure.
Now just because of Winston and Henry and all the other dogs I have loved I want to post this lovely award from Monica. I know you will want to visit her blog too.
In the next few days I will be passing it on to others. For now I have shown it to Henry and told Winston about it. Winston is off on his great adventure, so he will have to read about it when he has time.

For this week's Challenge I chose three of the frames from my original online story of Winston the Wonderhound. The real Winston was our loveable rescued beagle and he became the subject of an ongoing online story.
In these two frames he has become trapped in a castle moat and is hanging on for dear life at the edge. Just when it looks like he will never make it up on to dry land, several friendly fish come along and bump bump bump him right up over the edge.
If you want to see how he got into this predicament in the first place I have a blog of his adventures ( which I have to get back to) at Adventures of Winston the Wonderhound. That link will take you to a page where you may have to scroll to the bottom to get to this point. In a few weeks I should have time to update the story and post it in another form that is easier to follow.

Upon entering the castle the cook took Winston and Roxxanne directly to the huge kitchen...the scene of the crime.
Pieces of golden china and fragile crystal were strewn across the marbled floor.
"Oh how terrible," Roxxanne was shaken by the horrible destruction.
"Yes," added Winston, "terrible indeed!"
"TERRIBLE YOU SAY!!!!! TERRIBLE INDEED~" a shrill yet booming voice echoed through the great expanse of the kitchen.
There in front of the tragic trio stood the Queen. Queen Mellameen, to be exact, and she was not in a good mood.
"What in the BIG WIDE WORLD of my PERSONAL QUEENDOM happened here?" she demanded.
"Oh, your majesty, " stammered the cook, " I am so sorry about all this mess." She took a deep breath and began to explain to the queen how the huge beast (dragon) had burst into the kitchen while she was preparing the Queen's birthday dinner, and had gobbled up all the fine china and crystal.
"And, your Majesty, I am sorry to say he has also eaten your beautiful soup tureen, ladle and all."
"What???? YOU'VE LOST MY ROYAL GOLDEN BOWL? Surely for this your head will roll!"
As you can see the queen did not take the news lightly and as Winston and Roxxanne and the cook stood shuddering at this last exclamation from the angry monarch, another more terrifying noise was heard.

On the way to the castle... a rather long walk, the cook began to retell her sad story.
"I was working on the Queen's birthday dinner and had all the fine golden china ready to place on the great table in the great hall for the great dinner."
Here, she stopped for a minute, shed a tear or two and then continued. " There was a sudden crash as the kitchen door was smashed in and there right in front of me was a huge creature with HUNGRY eyes and teeth as big as I have ever seen. This creature seemed not to be interested in the fine food I was preparing, but in the golden china and glittering crystal."
Winston and Roxxanne had stopped too, to listen and comfort the cook as she told them how the dragon had not only gobbled up all the fine china, but succeeded in swallowing the Queen's golden soup tureen WHOLE!
As the trio continued up the hill to the castle, the cook recounted what happened next...... ( ah tune in NEXT Wednesday as we enter the castle and find out what the cook's fate will be if she can't rescue the Queen's china!)

"We can help you," said Winston. "Roxanne and I have had many adventures and some close escapes. I am sure we can work something out with this dragon."
"Well," the cook thought for a while, "alright, maybe, since you are both from the animal world you might be able to help me."
Winston looked proud. Roxxanne looked worried. Just the same they followed the cook up to the castle. Roxxanne preferred a bumpy ride to the long walk as her little legs could only cover small amounts of ground at one time.
Who knows what they will find. That is, what exactly, besides all the broken pieces of the china that didn't get eaten. Worse yet.... would THEY get eaten.

Having been Bumped right out of the moat, Winston and Roxxanne found themselves directly in front of a tearful young lady. Although they were already dripping wet, her tears threatened to keep them from drying off at all.
