1. wesbite re-design...DONE!

www.theenchantedeasel.com

and i can't tell you how HAPPY i am to FINALLY be able to pick up the paintbrush again after a week of editing html and cropping and watermarking photos and staring at the 17" screen on my mac. SO ready to paint!!! :)

i am loving the new colors i have chosen for the site as well as the home page painting entitled, sakura dreamers, which i specifically designed with the new home page in mind. i LOVE sakura blossoms and elephants and dream in strawberry moons and cotton candy clouds (wait, don't we all? ;) )

*PRINTS COMING SOON!

2. it's that time again...

that time i usually set aside annually (or biannually in this case) to poke my eyes out and sprout a few more grey hairs than i'd probably like to admit. yes, it's website redo time. my most favorite thing to do. {insert sarcasm...and lots of it}

i digress, as it is something i don't exactly look forward to but am always grateful in the end that i took on. {did i mention i'd SO rather be at the easel...}

so....hopefully in about a week, i'll have a new site (and blog) with a bit of tweaking added in...and a grey hair or two. ;)

i can still be reached for commissions here as i'm working on setting up a new email addy to go with the site. also, my etsy shop is still open with an upcoming SUMMER SALE to be launched soon!

busy as a little buzzing bee (or tiny little tower of power, as i like to call myself ;) )... Read the rest of this post

3. throwback...

"moonlight mavens"
11x14 acrylic on canvas
to one year ago yesterday...and this painting, "moonlight mavens".

hard to believe this piece (and the newly designed website, by me) are exactly one year old! how do i know this? it was website renewal fee day yesterday (squarespace is awesome, by the way)....and, i have a memory like an elephant. ;)

here's the story behind this painting as well as a bit more about me (in case you didn't already know)...

{and, just because it's throwback thursday, well i thought i'd share a picture of a very small Nicole with lots of dreams behind those big brown eyes of being the bestest children's artist she could be! :)}

a little Nicole...circa. 1975/76

4. Caught up in comment moderation -- apologies!

I love Squarespace, but their spam-handling tools are abysmal. Supposedly this will be addressed in an upcoming release but so far there's no word on when that release will be.

Waiting for the next Squarespace Release

As a result, anyway, I have to put ALL comments through a moderation stage where each comment needs individual approval (ugh). Time-consuming and a hassle, but it's either that or let all the spam comments through...and there have been a LOT of spam comments which I've had to block.

I've been a bit behind in comment moderation but have caught up now. Apologies for anyone who has been wondering why their comment hasn't been posted!

5. Inkygirl moved to Squarespace

Hurray, Inkygirl has been successfully moved to Squarespace! If you're reading this post in your old feed, then all is well  - I'd appreciate it if you'd post below to let me know. I encourage you all, however, to update your feeds to my new RSS info; you can find the list of feeds in the top right corner.

I'm actually going to be displaying two blogs on the Inkygirl page: my regular Inkygirl info plus a separate comics blog. I decided to keep my comics separate to make it easier for people to find the comic they want since I'm tagging/categorizing as I upload my archives.

In addition to Inkygirl, I've moved over Blatherings, Will Write For Chocolate, My Life In A Nutshell, Filking.net and my Filk FAQ, iPadGirl and DebbieOhi.com. I have about half a dozen other blogs to go, but when I have the basic infrastructures in place, I'll go back and do finetuning and link-fixing.

If you notice anything amiss or would like me to fix certain pages sooner than later, please do let me know! And thanks for sticking with me through this transition period. I'm hoping not to have to move again for a very long time.
