Whilst on the subject of Urban Outfitters I thought I would have a look and see what was happening at the separate website for Urban Outfitters in the USA. I was pleased to find lots of colourful prints including this bright peacock 'woodland garden' shower curtain and wall art by Lotta Kuhlhorn.

Judging by the amount of John Lewis posts I have made this week you might think I spent my whole holiday in their store. But there was so much good design to see, snap,  and research that I have had a lot to showcase from their new season prints. Here is another lovely design that I came across whilst in John Lewis. This colourful bedding was spotted in the children's department and is from Australian company Kas. At Kas kids the design is known as Carnival but if you look for it at John Lewis it has been named 'carousel'. The 'Tavio' design seen on the outside of the Press Show venue continued onto product inside the Habitat Autumn Winter preview. Here are some snapshots of the many beautiful and colourful cushions and pillowcases that were on show at the Oxo Bargehouse last week, and will soon be in Habitat stores and online.

Designer Mónica Munoz was so pleased to be asked to collaborate with Urban Outfitters. Mónica who designs under the studio label Moniquilla describes them as "one of the coolest brands in the world" and so she was thrilled when they approached her. I am loving the new budgerigar prints at Cath Kidston this season. The beautiful designs in vintage pastel colours are available on stationery, gift  and bedlinen. Polkka Jam were invited to design the spring 2014 collection for the Sokos department store. Called Huvila (meaning Villa) the collection "honours the small meaningful moments with friends and family". Polkka Jam designers Kristiina Haapalaisen and Sami Vähä-Ahon have recently been inspired by mansard roofs of the old houses, secret gardens gone wild, organic farming, lunar cycles and porches.
