1. STORE SNAPS - anthropologie

Whilst in Selfridges last Friday I found they had an Anthropologie concession so it was a nice chance to snap some of their latest products. Anthropologie have been working with an artist I really admire : Starla Michelle who creates the most beautifully colourful flowers and animals. Her artworks have been used on textiles, plates, wall art and an entire alphabet of pretty monogrammed mugs. I

12. MAISONS DU MONDE - vintage corner

I am still featuring Maisons du Monde, the shop I fell in love with whilst in Bologna at the beginning of this month. Here is why I liked them so much - the ranges at Maison du Monde are a lesson in how to make patterns work on a wide range of products and add value and style to a business. It is the prints that add the appeal to these goods and make them stand out from other retailers. Plus

All this week I am featuring designs from a wonderful store I discovered whilst on holiday in Italy. Maisons du Monde had so much to see that I could not resist highlighting so many fabulous products - and better still for those of us in the UK there is a special online shop just for us. Today I focus on Maisons du Monde's children's ranges. There are beautiful products for boys and girls with

17. BOLOGNA TRIP - snapshots pt. 1

I have some more snapshots today from my Italian trip. Bologna is a university town, a bit like Oxford only older and larger, so one thing it has plenty of is book shops. I managed to find some interesting cover designs around the city in stores such as Feltrinelli, Zoo, and the Museum of Modern art shop.

18. BOLOGNA TRIP - desigual

One of the brands I researched in Bologna on my Italian trip was Desigual. This very colourful fashion label was founded by Swiss businessman Thomas Meyer in Ibiza in 1984 and now has it's headquarters in Barcelona, Spain. The name Desigual means 'unequal' in Spanish and I believe refers to it's their asymmetrical prints. Their flamboyant designs feature on clothing and accessories for ladies,

Paperchase is such a fantastic store to find surface design that I have yet more pics to bring you today. Here you can see a variety of notebooks, diaries, organisers and gifts. These hand painted animals with little geometric elements on notebooks (above & below) are a favourite of mine. Also standing out was another version the ever popular owl design and a mid century style design on a
